Actually, I think many White Americans ARE surprised. Some do imagine that we're foolish enough to buy the lies they are selling their primary 'base'. But we remember enough of American history to realize that whatever the Republican, Tea (Conservative) Party is... isn't in our best interests.

Who is going to vote for that?! (Certainly not me.)

No. We realize that if the Republican Party is not AGAINST us (outright), then they are (due to their lack of compassion, mercy and grace) going to pull the rug out from under virtually any who would trust them. I think many misunderstand: What we KNOW many Republicans would do to betray African Americans... many who are White do not see that Party they trust so very much... sneaking up behind them to use and treat them just as they have treated African Americans in the past.

It is the PARTY (their platform and overall goals) as a whole (not each individual White person) that Black Americans a weary of. Look at American politics today (to include that Right-fringe-dwelling Tea Party guy Akin)... what truly concerned person thinks they should vote for stuff like that??! Black people have observed what has been done AND what the meaning is of what is being said. We've ALWAYS done that... we knew 70+ years ago, that not everyone could be "trusted" implicitly. You think folks on the Right scrutinize those on the Left... Ha-Ha!! You should understand that African Americans scrutinize EVERY word, EVERY policy and EVERY action. You see... we've been SCREWED A LOT over the centuries; we know it. We are HUMAN and we realize that it isn't about Black/White... but we understand that "White" tends to show up a LOT when problems are detected. Please, don't misunderstand... African Americans can/do rationally weigh the situations and choices we see before us; to think otherwise is so foolish as to be comical. :)

That's absolutely SILLY. (Are White people on "welfare"?) Come on... don't buy into that RACIST BS the sinister put out here... to DIVIDE us.

We need division in this election Johnny. Make it clear what we're all looking at this time. War against the poor...and simply MORE of everything for the wealthy. That's what 2012's about. Make people look at both parties hard, and let's see if the billionaire outsourcer wins or the man of "ALL" people wins.

Yes, the Republican Party represents the descendants of the white European pioneers who founded America, those who currently foot the bill for the brown dependent class while the Democrat Party represents the recent non-European newcomers who have become tumors and leeches on white European taxpayers. Take, for example, the Indians ("Velcome to Subvay, I pay no Federal income taxes for five years thanks to the American taxpayer...but in five years more I transfer business to family member and they no pay taxes for five years), Hispanics ("Feed, clothe, educate, and give free health care to my five anchor babies otherwise you are a racist, imperialist yankee...Viva La Raza!!!"), Africans ("Gibs me dat EBT and don't take my welfare qween status or you bees a rayciss...Gibs me dat!!!)... LOL

Most black Americans have unfortunately bought the idea that they are victims--an idea perpetuated by the Democratic Party. Thus, the Democratic Party has convinced them that they can't make it without them.

African Americans are smart enough to know which party is the most inclusive, and diverse, and which one is an exclusive club, uniformly dressed, and always making derogatory statements about women, minorities, gays, poor, and immigrants.

Doubt that any African heritage Americans have forgotten the accusations that Obama was not born in USA, nor the many other remarks made by the Republican party.

Doubt seriously, that after the latest remarks by a Republican Senator about the definition of rape, that many women, whatever their race, will be much inspired to vote Republican, especially following the all Conservative male review of just what healthcare women deserve.

The only minority that would gladly join the Republican Party would be those that understand the nature of our Constitution, and only those who are willing and eager to work for their keep by assimilating into the American traditions. So tell me why a majority person would EVER join the democrap party of losers, takers, defeatists, class warfare pimps, advocates of welfare state, income redistributers, commies, socialists, marxists, atheists, progressives, feminazis, whiners, totalitarians, collectivists, statists, 3rd worlders, doves, pacifists, deadbeats, OWSers, criminals, fornicators, anchor babies, sanctuary city advocates etc? Don't see much of an upside to your minority party, do you?

America is a racist country, if the rules and laws and corporate structures, loan regulations and lending attitudes were not fixed entirely and completely in favor of white male heterosexual protestants, they would not be able to compete very well at all with the rest of America, so they have to fix the rules in their favor and have for 240 yrs or more.

With electing Barack, the racists went insane, literally insane...if we survive their fierce, radical hate for this man and his beautiful family based solely on his skin color, we will really have survived.

Sadly we are discussing which of the two corporate crony "yes" men do we want in office, clever how the Oligarchs control us and we dont even know it.

And you can substantiate this how?

What 'ideas; do you believe are perpetuated via the Republican Party to White Americans?

Thus, you falsely characterize African Americans and what the Democratic Party is about. (In other words, YOU LIE!!)

'White people' my American elbow! The Republican Party represents the extremely rich, and half-witted peasants vote for it out of racism and the desire to be rich, the mugs.

If Democrats are so concerned about black people, why is it they're really no better off as they were in the 60s? If giving people free stuff at the expense of others is looking out for your best interest, what kind of help is that? Maybe to simpletons that seems like help, but smart people, educated or not, understand its about keeping people dependent, NOT helping them.

Besides ending racism for the most part, what has changed for poor black people that makes their lives so superior since the Democrats took it upon themselves to "help"?

You libs keep spewing out these liberal talking points as if anyone with a brain is going to believe that crap. The Republican Party of which I am a proud member is populated with 40% Conservatives who outnumber the 18-20% of Americans who call themselves liberals. The Republican Party also includes most of the loyal Christians of this nation which make up approximately 80% of the entire American population. You libs are left out of that Christian inclusion since most of you are atheists. Republicans also represent those people who have managed to make a success out their lives without resorting to blaming or stealing money from others--as is the want and desire of you lib punks. Republicans don't play the envy game either--like you libs do all the time. Most of us Repuiblicans were indeed poor at one time, but we didn't sit around and wait for Uncle Sam to call all the shots for us--like you libs and your pathetic moronic minions are likely to do. Btw, that meiserable defeatist look on that miser's face in your avatar is quite the appropriate look for all of you libs to idolize. LMFAO!

Black people came from abject and horrible SLAVERY, to 'legal' equality in a relatively short time. If nothing else, we know how to take the most positive promises of this nation (such as freedom, liberty and justice for all), and to HOLD this nation to the same.

If we seem "pesky" to the Country Club, selfish Republicans on the far Right... that is because we INTEND TO BE. We are as determined to make America what it SHOULD be (more inclusive and fair) as they are to consolidate and restrict benefits to a few.

It's not that "Democrats" are so concerned about 'Black' people... but that African Americans being HUMAN, being a part of and knowing American history and culture, ARE Democrats. We aren't being led-around as some erroneously prefer to suggest... we are real player in the political process (and we KNOW it). If Republicans could brainwash African Americans to VOTE their way... without actually addressing our overall concerns as Americans, they would.

I (for one) considered becoming a Republican a much as 30 years ago. When I saw that Conservatives and those on the Right were more about exclusion and controlling others... I bailed-out of that notion. I found it to be anti-God and disturbing overall. :(

It's not about what you say and most people realize that (though Conservatives love mischaracterizing the Democratic Party's Platform).

I don't think anyone 'side' has all the answers; more people need to learn to accept that. It would lead to many more positive outcomes than we are seeing today.

Be certain that most African Americans are not just waiting around for good things 'happen'; we are persistently fighting to change this nation (just as we should do). No, not into something which EXCLUDES our fellow White Americans and others... but one which true to the following phrase:

"...With Liberty and Justice for All."
