They've produced a subpoena. Your weird opinion that it should be illegal to investigate businesses aside . . .

The SDNY wants them because they have evidence of Bank and Tax Fraud.

I dont really think the SC will take this case as they already said that Trump cant exert blanket immunity as POTUS. They said Congress could not have them, but they explicitly said in the original case that they can be used for Criminal prosecution. Thats what the SDNY is doing.

It isn’t about him as a candidate. It isn’t about whether he paid the right amount in taxes.

It is about whether those documents - his tax returns - can provide evidence in relation to possible crimes committed by him or the trump organisation.

And he's failing. Whether you like it or not. We're dealing with a "man" who has tried to argue in courts that it should be illegal to call his buildings ugly. He has no legal argument. His only move is to abuse the courts and try to run out the clock. And he's losing. Again.

I'm still waiting on Obama's school transcripts. Absolutely none of my business but I'm curious so I should be allowed, right?

There are no court cases involving his transcripts. A grand jury has not subpoenaed them. Trump just demanded those transcripts because of his terror regarding his own academic record.

Maybe we can see who did business with Trump so that people can show up with bricks and pitchforks.

Dirty Donnie the Superspreader is defending against the release of his tax returns for four reasons:

    1) They will demonstrate that his net worth is negative, which leads to#2
    2) It destroys the image that he is trying to project that he is a successful businessman which leads to #3
    3) It destroys the image he is trying to project that he is "different" from politicians which leads to #4
    4) That his is not different from politicians in general and is just a cheap con man.

The precedent was set long before Dirty Donald ran, and he clearly knew of it before he declared. He has promised it since he first announced but as with everything else, he has failed to deliver.

Daddy gave him Lots of millions

Daddy dumped money into Trumps failing Casino which eventuality failed as well as the sports team Trump owned

Do I really need to explain to you how a fraud lawsuit works?

He has already lost twice, the chances of him winning in the Supreme Court are 0%.

He's only doing this to save time.

And it doesn't cost him anything because it's you, those loyal supporters, who pay the bill.

He knows that he's a fraudster, he knows that he deals in all kinds of shady business with criminals but he wants at all costs that the people don't officially know about it.

That's the kind of guy you voted for.

    Such a hypocritical answer.

Were you, like your guru, one of the people who wanted to see Obama's birth certificate?

Essentially if it's not a criminal complaint. our taxes(trump's or not), we should be able to protect them.

Nope. When I first heard the accusation I looked to the law. From that point I argued against the idiocy and defended Obama. Where's the hypocrisy?

The "precedent" is actually that Presidential candidates have voluntarily release the tax returns for the last 5 decades ... Trump is the odd man
out on this one. If he wasn't hiding something, he would release them - as HE promised his voters he would in 2016. He lied. Big surprise.

Once you have defended Trump in his legal proceedings, you can no longer demand transparency from any politician.

    That's the point.

Fake arguments chap me. Drop the straw man. Please rejoin us back in reality. Do you understand that you can criticize what someone has done or said without saying they don't have the legal right to do so? Simple concept. Is it really beyond you? If you can't conceive of a way to criticize the words or actions of others without saying that it should be illegal, then that's your limitation. Stop projecting it onto others.

Because HE promised HIS voters he would. Just trying to hold him to his promises.
If he had said from the outset that he wasn't going to, I wouldn't be on him - but one of the reasons he won was because
HE PROMISED transparency. He lied. And you're just going to keep lowering the bar for him.

Only in your world perhaps. But last I knew there was a Right to Privacy. And Trumps tax files are private. There is no law demanding that he release them. Only leftists. And there is a big difference between demanding transparency from government, vs demanding to see someone's private tax returns. I've never demanded to see anyone's tax returns. Never will.

But I get it. You thought that I was a birther and tried to use that as the hypocritical point. When that failed you moved the goal post to about "transparency". That too has failed. What's the next goal post move?
