    A teacher in a Rockland County, N.Y., school told her second grade students that there was no Santa Clause. Parents are outraged that this teacher has ruined Christmas.

    I don't really care. The parents lied to their kids, the teacher tells the truth and the parents are outraged because they can't lie anymore?

    Although that's the age when kids start figuring it out, I don't think it's right for someone to do that.

    It's a tradition that almost every family in America - that celebrates Christmas - follows.

    When children ask me if I believe in Santa Claus at work (I work with kids) I feel uncomfortable telling them yes because parents would be pissed off if I said I don't.

    This is exactly the kind of teacher who in a short amount of time will tell them that God and or Jesus doesn't exist either.

    You're right, she should only teach intelligent design, something with evidence.

    They ask, "Do you believe in Santa," and I say, "Why do you support drug dealers selling near schools?"

    Why is it Liberals love to take people's belief away from them. First there is no God, then there is no Santa. Next the Tooth Fairy. I think they just get a kick out of hurting people.

    it was not the teachers place , kids need some time as kids , let the parents decide , I think she needs a week in boot camp!!

    It's part of the Christmas tradition that kids get a lot of joy out of.... what's wrong with THAT? It's not a case of 'lying' it's simply a case of letting your kids enjoy the Santa fantasy as long as they want too........

    It's up to the PARENTS to inform their kids about Santa - not the TEACHER! What that teacher did was downright mean!

    Oh or better yet why doesnt the teacher tell kids that columbus really "discovered" america or that he was an "italian voyager" who sold his "last bit of money" for this "voyage" and that the queen (who hated him) just "went along" with it

    That american slavery only existed from 1800-1865 and that the slaves really enjoyed it

    That jesus (a jewish man) was looked up to by a bunch on lonely italian men who hated jews and who drew each other and there kids, and other relatives naked on walls and murials but claimed they came from "god"

    That the pilgrims and indians got along and lived happily ever after

    Hitler was an atheist

    Jesus really existed

    That america is a democracy

    That weed is evil

    That 3rd world "tribal" people needed "saved" from being "Savages" by the will of the lord

    That all of africa has aids, famine, poor, and proverty

    Which is fine, but it's not the teachers place to burst their bubble if some still believed in Santa.....

    It's up to their parents to have that discussion w/them.....

    Where do we draw the line? Only at Santa? At evolution? The Big Bang Theory? The Earth being round? Where ever you put the line it's not going to cover everything and if it does then teachers can't teach.

    A small child doesn't need evidence - it's simply a happy, magical time of their lives.... let them enjoy Santa while they can...... reality comes soon enuf....
