There is something I'm not understanding about the right wing Afghanistan narrative...

1. Democrats are not adding trillions to it every other month.
2. The rich will pass their increased costs on to the little guy only if the little guy will vote for Senators/Congressman who support the rich, which more or less happens today in America.

 

It's not just my opinion. Facts matter and those of us not stuck with whatever mental condition that causes abject denial, ignorance of the law and law enforcement and how they work and truly love our country and its foundational Constitution agree with me. So, your OPINION about your deity is BS.

If you had even a rudimentary understanding of psychology, you would know that people very, very rarely change. It's asinine to even suggest that he has been stealing and cheating people his entire life and suddenly became a saint in the WH.

So, not only is it FALSE, but it's delusional to believe he has been FORCED (ethical people don't steal so they don't have to be forced to pay back ill gotten gains) to pay back MILLIONS for his fraudulent activities for NO reason.

That would be my question to you. China's total sales to the United States is less than 4% of its GDP, not nearly enough to bring China to heel even if we cut off all Chinese imports.

They do compared to our ditching the TPP and efforts to coordinate with the EU on dealing with China.

While many here, on the extreme Right, are going way overboard, on this mess-- and it has been a bit of a mess-- you are going farther than facts warrant, in the other, partisan, direction. While there are many aspects to how this all developed, I'm going to take you at your word, & give you the skinny, on how Biden f'd up. We should have had the evacuation going full steam, on August 1st. But Afghan President Karzai-- and you're gonna hear more about him, in the near future, but I'm going to sidestep that, for now-- asked Biden, specifically NOT to do that, because of the impression it would give to other Afghans. As if that would have made a difference. But Biden, being diplomatic, I guess, agreed; there was the fatal flaw in the execution.

As to why Biden wasn't more concerned with the Taliban-- though I don't think anyone in the U.S. would have picked, "8 days," in the office pool-- I can only speculate that it's because he had made the right call, about Afghanistan, back in 2009: that our mission was done & that we should get out-- and by this point, had us, in his mind, already out, & was just eager/impatient to make that mental image a reality.

I will add that, though our Prez did bobble the ball here, he's made a fast recovery, with the limited time that remains. While I would like to see us be more assertive about getting those who risked their lives to help us-- the Taliban is not going to lift a finger against U.S. Troops, who they want out, as much as Biden wants us out-- but it is unclear that Biden will do anything that he sees as potentially putting even one more American soldier's life, at greater risk than absolutely necessary. (That said, Biden has changed our military stance, in response to public opinion, so I guess I could hold out a prayer's hope, of the possibility that Biden will do more for our Afghan allies, still out in the countryside, but I'm not very optimistic, on that point). The President seems to have accepted that what's done, is done.

The optics were bad, temporarily, but now things seem to be running as smoothly as can be expected. The sense in the press is that Biden expects all this to just blow over. And, as long as there are no more SNAFUs, I think he's right.

Nope. This is Biden's woke military pull out plan. When Trump left we still had air & military units at Bagram. It was Biden and milley's stroke of genius to pull out the Afghan military's air support.
That by the way as much as anything explains the rapid collapse of the Afghan army.

Maybe you should spend a little more time "researching" how complex a plan to evacuation tens of thousands of none combatants from a hostile environment would be, instead of just being a typical LW s**thead.
