Suing the VICTIMS of a shooting now? This is beyond belief.

At the very least Mandalay Bay should be boycotted out of business and I, for one, will no longer patronize any movies, shows, performers or entities of any kind who are sponsored by or work for MGM or any of its affiliates. i urge you not to either and I think the same should be done to the entire city of Las Vegas if they continue this

 

Well they aren't actually suing anyone for anything, they are responding to lawsuits by countersuing because that then gives them a say in where the case is heard.

Their only goal here is to get an unbiased of favorable court to hear the cases.

If they don't present a suit they are at the whim of the defendants whos lawyers are undoubtable looking for the most favorable court they can find.

 

1000 victims suing MGM! What is outrageous is US lawsuit culture how is the hotel responsible?

Do we not have any personal responsibility any more? It's someone else's fault for everything and we can sue them for it. US sue culture is parasitic at best.

In the same manner that the hotel chain itself facilitated the incident in question. By simply being there.

 

Don't get your panties tied in a knot. It's nothing more than a legal maneuver. The dead and injured can't sue the shooter so they are going after the deep pockets of the hotel. All the victims have to do is establish any degree of negligence on anyone (hotel) and they can collect money. They're only trying to protect their own interest.

 

No hotel is responsible for the actions of a guest unless negligence or facilitation is evident. The victims are angry and rightfully so, but they have no case against the Hotel.

 

This reminds me of when the actors were going to move to canada if Trump was elected but never did.

Many people do still regard jury packing or shopping the judge as bordering on unethical; argue the case on its merits not on the people adjudging it they say.

By MGM filing a lawsuit they now also get a say in what court it ends up in.

Trumps fair trade and ease of regulation is a job creator. Obamas plan and clinton helped China. Thats why chinas feathers are ruffled now. Obama did his best to fix it, and given that he had one of the most obstructionist Congresses in our history and how truly it was messed up he did a damned good job.

In 2000 Clinton gave Bush the best economy we'd had for a long time, with the first surplus I can remember. Bush spent that in his first year then established a kleptocracy that gave us two little recessions before handing us what everybody said was the Second Great Depression in 2008. Obama headed that off and gave us the first Healthcare we'd ever had. I say he deserves lots of credit for that but I'm sure you don't, preferring a Republican who has given you and me a tax cut of a whole thousand dollars while ensuring millions for him and his friends.

But this is always what Republicans do, they rob us blind and then hand a hollow shell back to the Democrats. Then they bitch for the next 8 years at the hardships we must suffer to repair their depredations until everybody's forgotten how much they ****ed us before and then they get control again. Whereupon they take credit for the prosperity caused by the Dem's good management and begin to rob us again. And so it goes
