    No, he didn't. Many LWers say Clinton saved the economy, but he was only riding the wave. Yes, he won the election based upon "it's the economy stupid", but the post-Gulf War recession was already lifting when voters went to the polls. GHW Bush correctly pointed that fact out, but, sadly, it was too late to turn the tide of the idiots who believe Presidents control the economy.

    Reagan is a faux folk hero, constructed by grover nordquist and the other anti-Clinton right to prop up a half baked potus into a conservative folk hero to confront the Clintons.

    You wanna talk about Reagan...OK...how did he keep the economy going ? He RAISED taxes.......3 TIMES. and every one of them was a raise in taxes on the middle class, while keeping the tax breaks for the top permanent . Any of this sound firmiliar yet ?

    Thats is where I stopped reading. You could just summed up your thread by saying "Um, Trump is ba'ad. M'kay!" Those pushing opinions instead of news may cause others to have an opinion about them. Politicians, journalists, and prostitutes are all just selling what people are buying.

    I repeat. Reagan is a false construct of Grover nordquist. I dont gaf about GDP. The economy does what it does and everyone knows presidents have very little to do with it.

    Reagan is -still- a false construct and absolutely -not- the conservative icon you and others believe him to be. Grover Nordquist created Reagan's legacy to combat the popularity of Clinton.
