One of the major problems with your analysis when you compare Covid-19 to a "weak flu" is that you are comparing a couple of months worth of data against decades of data from the flu. Specifically, the flu has had decades to spread itself around the country. Covid-19 has only had a couple of months. But as I already linked you previously, Covid-19 is spiking by hundreds to thousands of percentage points in parts of the country which, heretofore, have not been hotspots. Meanwhile, the previous hotspots that have seen more of the virus simply because they are larger, more dense, and saw infections sooner due to international travel. And not because some hardcore right wing application of 18 different adjectives.

You have yet to explain which pandemic control measures are illegal, unconstitutional, or felonies and you have yet to provide a legal basis for the conclusion.

Also, and I have noted this before - the data at Realclearpolitics comes from the exact same sources being cited elsewhere in this thread - namely John Hopkins University, Worldofmeters, and the CDC.

Since you can't be bothered to actually learn anything beyond a superficial analysis from one point in time, I posted that data for the rest of the people here who do wish to stay informed about the threat this virus continues to pose to everyone.

The U of Washington just upped its model to project 147,000 COVID-19 deaths instead of 137,000.

People who have been reading my USA postings every morning know that since 04/28 I have an extrapolation running....

Wow that's a lot of words to say "RED HERRING" "counselor." Readers are free to look at the comprehensive data from nonpartisan sites like RCP I just linked and draw their own conclusions about fear-mongering cherry-picking.

FACT: in a vast geography of the U.S. COVID19 hardly exists. Only where Paulie and Silvio are running the ventilator scam are the numbers large. So readers, trust Paulie and Silvio, their Fake News? or the rest of the country? Choice is all yours. Whatever you do, don't settle for a bill of goods based on half-truths and rigged data. Paulie and Silvio love it when you do that.

Sorry, that's a YOU burden, not a ME burden, because the lockdowns, etc. are real, then YOU, brandishing -0- scientific evidence and RAPIDLY FLAGGING viral results get to start flailing about on what level of balancing justifies a mass usurpation of BASIC Constitutional Rights. We have a massive body of Civil Rights jurisprudence to rely on. But to be crystal clear, all I have to do is walk in the door and show up in court to win. I don't have to "prove" or "evidence" anything where basic Civil Rights are concerned. You better get busy manufacturing some REAL virus like a zombie/vampire blood drinking Hollywood style plague or you are TOAST.

Good, then you will agree that the RCP compilations are vastly superior to OP's massive partisan walls o junk.

I see, that means U of Washington must have a personal Bat Phone plugged into the SCAM states of NY, NJ, Mass, ILL, Conn, because it sure ain't happening anywhere else in the country.

"Ey Tone, if we can somehow hook up 2 or more ventilators at a time to this latest batch of winos and crackies we just "found" out in Queens, can we charge the Feds TWICE? or is it prorated? Wait.... wait... we can just use a power strip and get up to EIGHT vents on each stiff! Badabing! Christopher has a plan too, we just cut them into quarters and keep all four pieces on life support, the Feds don't say how -long- they have to be alive on the ventilator OR that it has to be a whole person! Any new vans coming in from the Unions out in the nursing homes this afternoon? I think they missed a few Senior Centers near Jamaica last time."

I had begun to wonder about the total, as the last 2 days showed a substantial drop in deaths, not only in the US but the UK as well. Well, today, we are already over 1400 in the US with several states still not reporting.

Sweden's death rate is not a pretty sight to see:

    2020-05-012 COVID-19 Swedens death rate.png

Current death rates (exact number of deaths / exact number of confirmed COVID-19 cases)

    Sweden: 12.15%
    USA: 5.92%

Want to see how many deaths there would be in the USA right now, instead of the current (and tragic) 83,220 American dead were we to also have a 12.15% death rate like Sweden?

That would be: 170,801 dead Americans.

Now, let that set-in for a moment.

You might really want to check this out and look at the screenshot of the excel-table. A pattern has emerged that I think is worth noticing.

Also, to back up your point, right now, 8 states have not yet reported new cases and 15 have not yet reported new deaths. Of those 15, 5-7 are likely not going to report any deaths, but 8-9 will. Plus, NY revises its figures at the end of the day. Sometimes, PA, MA and IL do as well. The figues from 9 minutes ago:

    2020-05-012 COVID-19 USA very late evening 001.png
    2020-05-012 COVID-19 USA very late evening 002.png

Note the HUGE spike in new cases in IL.

Want to see how many pots of gold I'd have in my basement if I had the same 15% leprechaun-catching rate like my neighbor Blarney Mc Partisanleftwingfearpornhorseshitsweetfield across the street?

Now, let that set-in for a moment. That's a LOT Of pots of gold!

"Ay Tone, does our Sweden branch have the same dealie with the ventilators we have here in the U.S.? We need to get someone looking into that, is Richie Aprile back out of the can? BTW, we did "take over" the counting of cases over there from the real doctors who started off in charge, right?"

You edited my post! Is that intelligent and logical?

Here it is in full context: "Fox News = MSM = Fake News"

So you are upset that I called Fox News Fake News!
Roger Ailes is smiling down on you right now. ;-)

Colorado always reports between 16:00 and 17:00 Mt, but those numbers are always 2 days behind
I do not trust the week end numbers anyhow. Take Germany, Government Office close no later than 15:00 on Friday and open up again on Monday morning, till they got the week end figures all figured out and than reported to RKI takes till Wednesday. On week ends you have hardly any cases but than Monday, Tuesday you have a lot of cases. 3 day average and you have no big deal.

Yeah, I am used to seeing that. It just carried over longer a day longer than usual and was a more drastic drop.

    Friday 5-08: US 1687
    UK 626
    About usual for both

    Saturday 5-09: US 1422
    UK 346
About usual for US; big drop for UK

    Sunday 5-10: US 750
    UK 268
Big drop for both. Make it up on Monday?

    Monday 5-11: US 1008
    UK 210
Somewhat near average for US. UK maintains big drop.

    Tuesday 5-12: US 1489
    UK 627
Back to average for both and day not over.

It just stood out to me. I was wondering if something might be amiss with reporting, but seems to have returned to prior range.

I would love to see a huge drop in number of deaths and that drop remain, but don't see it working out that way.

Colorado Data. It is promising for the state, 260 new cases is very good for 5-11-20. But that is a Monday, has everybody reported the week end figures ?
My county added 2 more, which is not good because it is an acceleration, which started last week. I expected it.

    https://covid19.colorado.gov/data/case-data

The Navajo Res. still has a serious problem, over 3200 cases, despite curfews.

Here is what the CDC says:

"There are two main types of influenza (flu) virus: Types A and B. The influenza A and B viruses that routinely spread in people (human influenza viruses) are responsible for seasonal flu epidemics each year."

    https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/viruses/index.htm
    You're wrong.

"To be clear, SARS-CoV-2 is not the flu. It causes a disease with different symptoms, spreads and kills more readily, and belongs to a completely different family of viruses. This family, the coronaviruses, includes just six other members that infect humans. Four of them—OC43, HKU1, NL63, and 229E—have been gently annoying humans for more than a century, causing a third of common colds. The other two—MERS and SARS (or 'SARS-classic,' as some virologists have started calling it)—both cause far more severe disease."

    https://www.theatlantic.com/science/archive/2020/03/biography-new-coronavirus/608338/
    You're wrong, again.

"A new study--the largest of its kind--shows that hydroxychloroquine, the drug touted by President Trump, does not work against Covid-19 and could cause heart problems."

    https://www.cnn.com/2020/05/11/health/hydroxychloroquine-doesnt-work-coronavirus/index.html
    You should stop spreading misinformation.

You're full of it. More than half of Americans think we're moving too fast to open the economy.
    You make no sense.
Sars-CoV-2 will, I believe, change our society for the better. There are far too many falling into poverty and hunger because we won't look after our fellow Americans. And much of the unemployment we have now would have happened without stay-at-home orders because people have stopped going to the mall, dining out, etc.
    Half-baked nonsense.
