The elephant is an endangered species so why kill it so someone can put the head on their wall? How many people own homes that can mount a elephant head with tusks? Not everyone that will be hunting will be doing it for a trophy, many will be doing it for the blood sport. I think the claim is that legal hunting funds conservation efforts. How else would you suggest enforcing anti-poaching laws?

The only thing that would change is what the hunter could to with the remains. This does not increase the number of kills; it just allows hunters to have a horrifying decoration in their home.

I shoot clays, bottles, steel plates, melons, and even paper targets. None can shoot back.

As a vegan, I do not hunt or consume animal products. (I have to admit to a few exceptions) I do, however consider hunting far more humane than how most meat is produced.

 

The "poor black man" kills far more elephants than the great white hunters. African poachers have killed 30% of Africa's elephants in the last decade.

Why not? Africas population rises by 1 million each month. Its a gargantuan problem. Sooner or later we will have to find a solution for this. And it wont be a nice solution.
