I think you need to distinguish between an armed cavalry invasion and someone with a satchel.
Northern border: Seriously? The issue with the Southern border is the stark economic difference between the two countries. The same problem doesn't exist on the northern border. In fact, its an outlet for incoming illegals:

If the USA doesn't fortify itself, maybe one day we may see Canada building a wall along that border (and perhaps asking usa to pay for it)

Because Trump caved on his weak demands to build the wall? Was he not the deal maker?

The answer is real simple here, send the FBI and US Marshall's to arrest sanctuary city officials.

I meant obstructionist lunkheads. I was never a real big fan of the wall. As I've said many times make eVerify mandatory for ALL employment and Government benefits. If an illegal applies for benefits for their kids, send ICE to scoop 'em up and deport them.

So Trump caved because of the toothless opposition which is the minority government? Seems like that really makes him the lunkhead.

Obama caved to the sequester, did that make him a lunkhead? Besides, he should have had the Republicans pass a bill to tax remittances out of the country at 45% first. He put the cart before the horse.

I was just being flippant wrt the Canadian wall / northern boundary as a half-baked ad absurdum.

The main point is that the wall can be effective. Whether it will be cost effective is a matter for detailed analysis.

The only reason why republicans keep winning is because of the fluke blessing that they have a higher percentage of an anti-establishment base, which match up with the anti-establishment independents. Between government work, education, unions, welfare, yuppie limo liberal gated communities - the establishment of the dems pumps their kool aid through the veins of the base, vs just hoping they drink it.

The republican vs democrat traditional dynamic doesn't exist. It hasn't for years. The only reason they're blinded is because there's only 2 of them, so even shooting in the dark, with none of their experts or pundits saying anything relevant, one of them wins, and they assume the "baby boomer centric" global establishment is actually what the public wants.

It is the craziest thing to watch unfold politically I ever heard of, and I'm actually living through it. Not just reading about it. At least it's cool on that level.

If someone wants to know the truth, the elite of the world have no clue what they're doing, and the west is floating on an ocean with no sails and no captain.

I seem to have missed Trump's call for "detailed analysis".

In fact, outside of calling for federal investigation of his election opponent and investigation of the media for reporting stuff he doesn't want to hear, I don't know of any case of Trump wanting analysis.

I'll file this opinion in the bucket of "I care about these thoughts as much as their authors care about grammar."

First, I'm not a liberal, but I'm sure it makes you feel better to put people in boxes so you can automatically tune them out. Second, if you mean Trump is playing a made-up game that no one else is playing, then sure.

Just a couple for you: "I will ask to appoint a special prosecutor. We have to investigate Hillary Clinton, and we have to investigate the investigation.” What a lie, even his supporters acknowledge that he lied about that. The cult followers are a different story - is that where you're coming from? Also, "Obama had my 'wires tapped.'" If you are a conspiratorial cultist then I suppose you buy that line, too; but for most of us that's a lie that just fed the appetite of anti-Obama fruitcakes.

Lol. My, what certainty-mixed-with-paranoia we have!

I'm on America's side, so yeah, America lost with this joke of a presidency. It's funny that we mock people in North Korea who claim their idiotic man-baby leader is the most amazing guy in the world, then we have so many Americans here doing the exact same thing about a man who uses Twitter like a middle school girl.

Trump is too busy trying to dodge responsibility for Russia's assault on America to actually try to sell his idiotic and totally unjustifiable "wall" boondoggle.
