It's not shameful to know what you're talking about.

I didn't want to be critical, but it's terrible legal reasoning, Bill.

In fact, it's not legal reasoning at all. Just flat out made up.

Yes, the bond amount is indeed automatically the same amount as the judgment. This automatic bond amount can then and only then - after the fact - be appealed.

And no, the 8th Amendment does not apply.

A real lawyer would have something more than personal attacks.

This bond wasn't appealed. The appeals court stepped in on its own accord.

    The 8th Amendment always applies.

The Appeals Court did not step in of its own accord.

Their decision was in response to an appeal motion by Trump & co.

No, the 8th Amendment does not always apply.

How is that a “personal attack”? Just joshing around. Sheesh, Bill.

The trial AKA railroad job has already happened the appeal bond has been reduced to something rational and once appealed will be dumped on to histories ash heap as a way not to do things.

No, Bill. The appellate court did not step in of its own accord. LOL!

Trump whined and cried via motion. “Waaah! Please waive or lower my bond!! *sob*” He got a little misplaced mercy from the court.

On what basis? Appellate courts don’t substitute their judgment on factual issues for the trial court’s judgment. What legal issues did the trial court get wrong?

I guess Gary will have to get his thoughts together on the appeal.

The fact that the judge got everything wrong. His valuations of real estate are so far off base as to be ridiculous. No credible real estate person would place Maralago at 18 million as just one example. He low balled every thing often by factors of more than ten.

Gonna be hard to do since no one has ever brought a fraud case in which no one was harmed before and in which all those involved benefited greatly.

Different cases and that one is even more bogus than this one. Good grief 32 counts of calling payments to a lawyer legal fees.

Only when the fines in question are excessive as they are in this case as they greatly exceed any possible damage done.

And what was the jury verdict on these issues... which none were factual, but opinion.

The more the trials are delayed, the better Trump likes them.

Which is odd considering that he’s super innocent. People who are not guilty usually want a fast trial. Hmmm.

‘This is particularly laughable since Trump’s valuations were so far off base as to be ridiculous!

Once again, you act like reading hurts. Try again. Read this time.

Then you either don't know what bonds are or you haven't read either amendment. Or both. Both remains a distinct possibility.

I'm done doing your homework. Especially when you refuse to read my posts when "responding" to them. Willis has already provided examples of civil bond penalties that are double or triple what was levied against Trump. Good luck. As per usual, I encourage you to read before responding.
