Here are the optics that count. The House sent all the same bills to fund the govt, that won unanimous support by every voting member of the Senate. The House has already done its part. The senate has to figure out how to get them to the floor passed the Majority leader who is kowtowing to Trump. Its the GOP caucus that needs to act.

 

So they would be vetoed. Democrats are not interested in negotiating so are throwing a tantrum because they think by hurting federal workers while they play in the sun is a good thing.

 

Schumer and Pelosi were devoted to shutting down the government and Trump was just unwise in what he then told them. I do not approve each thing done by Trump as Democrats do for Nancy and Chuck E cheese.

then the Republican Senate needs to take it up with the republican president. It was their bills that were giftwrapped and returned. The House waits until the government is opened and then they deal with the remaining immigration budget. No need for the entire country to be held hostage by the GOP as leverage..
