They report in news now that even in COVID-19 Germany unites with France, UK and plans to bring Japan and South Korea in to block US acess to a current developed vaccine, to prevent USA from stealing it.

That would not have happened under Obama or Bush, but with Trump, there is zero trust.

Trump changed nothing on trade, he lacks the intelelct for that. EVry move he did, we countered and USA ended up on the losing side. Boeing for example. Trump put tariffs on Airbus, we blocked the Boeing - Embraer merger so long, that it became impossible and busted.

As for defense, Trump achieved that we plan to lower defense cost, kicked the F-35 out of possible options for fighter jet replacement and cut out even european weapon systems that have american parts installed from competition.

So what we see is, that we dont pull out but simply reverse what he did on USA. As you said, any dead fish can float downstream, we chose to counter attack and that quite sucessful.

Why pull out, when you can strike back?

Your problem is, your onyl market is China or the EU. China currently crushs you out its markets because your beef with them. Which puts us in a very comfortable position.

So far we have always won when it came into trade. Your country is run by lobbyism and greedy bastards.

Your Trump currently falters globally like a bouncy castle with powerloss. I dont think pulling out on trade or defense is a suitable solution, our counter attacks are much more fun.

 

Germany's GDP is twice as large as Russia's and Germany has many powerful allies that Russia doesn't have. There is no reason that Germany needs help with day to day military defense. And as you mentioned yourself, 80% of Germans want to be responsible for their own defense. We should have been gone decades ago. But I do agree that leaving isn't much of a punishment. But it is a negative diplomatic gesture and serves as a warning to Germany about their relationship to the US. Also, Germany will have to spend a lot more money in their own defense, which is more work for them, but the right thing overall. As for the base, we should have taken our equipment and sold it to them.

Why should we spend more? We already have 2nd highest spending in NATO. We dont see any threat that justifies higher defense cost. I think USA out, defense spending as it is is the best option.

I don’t see how this “Shows how dumb Trump is”. NATO is a piece of shyt and ought to be dismantled anyway. It was PR’d as protection from Communist expansion into western Europe but was mostly an opportunity for the American Military-Industrial Complex to stretch its legs.

Does pulling NATO troops out "hurt Germany"? Well, the German politicians “on the take” with their lips up the back-side of Washington would probably miss the kick-back dollars but the German population won’t be shedding any tears if NATO is disbanded. Coca-Cola, baseball caps, and fast food are OK but German culture has been bitch slapped by constant American propaganda. West Germans have been weaned on the stuff but East Germans understood rather quickly that the U.S. is a fake.

So, would ending NATO concessions prove Trump is dumb? I guess it depends upon how you look at it. It would be doing Germany a favour.
