What do you mean no? That is exactly where those numbers came from. This is not a matter of debate. It is quite simply a fact that what I said is true. Now, please try your best to actually understand what I was saying, so you can come to these discussions armed with a basic understanding of the issues in play.

It wouldn't have made any difference.

    Clowns?

When you are dealing with complex systems, there is absolutely no way to model them with 100% precision. It is entirely impossible. When you are dealing with something so complex, there are hundreds, thousands, or even millions of variables are in play. This is true even in quite well understood systems.

However, we didn't and still don't understand this virus that well. Again, considering it has only existed for a few months, it would be impossible for us to actually understand the behavior of the disease entirely.

Whenever smart people try to do models of those complex systems, they use their expert intuition, a series of criteria, past cases, etc. to try to determine which criteria to focus on and what data to use. They then create a series of models with different assumptions built in. So, since the scientists didn't know exactly what would happen, they actually did multiple models. This is not just NOT the way clowns would handle it, it is exactly how it should be handled.

PS. If you think scientists and doctors at the best universities in the world are clowns who don't understand this stuff, but you on the other hand have a full and complete understanding, I highly suggest you google the dunning kruger effect.

So what? Did the CDC test everyone? No. So their numbers are just that: numbers. They do not tell us if the virus spread from the few or if the people were already infected.

unlike you, I will not attack Trump for being wrong on his pick of models, models are models and change with time as new data comes in

if were lucky our social distancing has done better than anyone had planned

On that, we agree. Disgusting, those markets, and I've heard there's rampant animal abuse, squeezing them into teensy little cages at those markets.

Yes, Divine Comedy, the President is responsible for everything that happens or does not happen in his administration.

What makes you say that? It isn't like a president is the same as the captain of a ship.

I am guessing cause some of their people do not have a way to store pre-cut meat, otherwise no reason to buy that way

like selling Americans live chickens, should we ban that, only corps can have live chickens to sell to the people - need a business license to buy live animals

I heard cats and dogs can catch the virus too, so might need to watch that too, two week quarantine before can sell a pet

NO, there are three branches, and the President has ZERO power to force CONGRESS to pass any law or to appropriate funds.

Like say for instance when Congress and the Carter administration passed a law that prohibited the military from doing civilian jobs; the military TAD to the auto shop on base were illegal, and were removed immediately causing the cost of taking our vehicles there to go up because they had to hire a civilian; such a law would also prevent the military manufacturing ventilators (maintaining ventilators) and masks... The Seabees could build a building, but would have to take it down, so suggesting they do the roofing on base hangers while not on deployment could not happen; I knew a civilian making $15 dollars an hour doing that in the 80's.

If there is a problem with supply, a need for abandoned military bases in each state to be used in an emergency, or the need for masks or toilet paper or emergency food..., the CONGRESS needs to make a law for that supply, CONGRESS needs to fund that supply, and CONGRESS needs to make laws on maintenance and distribution of that supply.

The preparation for a pandemic, weaponized virus, or nuclear fallout, and funding for it, starts with LAWS of CONGRESS. NO preparation, maintenance, or distribution in an emergency should be the sole responsibility of one man.

So who gave the president the power, CONGRESS:

“Provides that any national emergency declared by the President in accordance with this title shall terminate if (1) Congress terminates the emergency by concurrent resolution; or (2) the President issues a proclamation terminating the emergency.” https://www.congress.gov/bill/94th-congress/house-bill/3884

Giving power, also means CONGRESS can do it.

Pandemics do not come from live chickens. This one has came from the wet markets in China. Ok, facts are facts.

If they vote for Congress to do it's job, perfect. I want to hear solutions.

If there is a shortage of masks, no Walmart near me has any, simply, either we all (regardless of education and income...) must be preppers for ANY possible emergency or the government needs a better stockpile and plans.

One of our neighbors is a seamstress, and she has a contract to supply our families with fairly good masks.
