Good points. But the pictures I saw involved some type of gruesome appearing Muslim ritual/rite or what have you. http://madworldnews.com/muslims-furious-bans-halal/
As for the idea that killing animals leads to murder. We must take care not to confuse those who ranch or hunt for food with those who torture animals because they are disturbed in the heart and mind.

So Orthodox Jews should have a Higher Murder rate!
    But
    http://www.torahphilosophy.com/2008/09/orthodox-jewish-crime.html

As to violent crime, I posted several months ago a request for information about Orthodox Jewish homicides in the United States. I was able to find only ONE confirmed case of an Orthodox Jew ever convicted of homicide in the United States; a man in Cleveland who over Twenty years ago shot his ex-wife’s father during a dispute. The perpetrator was modern Orthodox and had become Orthodox as an adult.
In the United States as a whole, 8,400 Americans were convicted of murder in 2004 from a population of about 300 million. There are about 600,000 Orthodox Jews in the United States. Proportionally, there would be 17 homicide convictions per year in the Orthodox community. I would suggest that a very low rate of homicide is an indicator of a very low level of violence in general since assault often escalates, intentionally or otherwise, to homicide. This applies to child abuse and spousal abuse as well.

Most Orthodox Jews are not political except they don't think Israel is legal. From what I have read. They also don't believe in a third temple.

Imo, the Muslim should behead the chicken 1st, then give it to the Orthodox Jew.to throw against the wall, or whatever they do.

And if the Jews then don't want to eat the chickens, give the chickens to the Palestinians rather just waste good food.

I don't believe that humane hunting leads to murder and actually serves a good purpose in certain rural areas where deer overpopulation leads to deer-auto collision, deer disease. There's an organizations called "Hunters for the Hungry" in which the hunters donate venison to homeless shelters.

How a person treats animals says volumes about their psychological make-up & especially how they treat weaker & less fortunate humans.

For a while, I was a Case Worker in the Juvenile Justice System & with rare exceptions young animal torturers went on to become rapists, pedophiles and other criminals who preyed on younger & weaker individuals.

I agree with you in that we must not confuse: "...those who ranch or hunt for food with those who torture animals because they are disturbed in the heart and mind." Therefore I feel that exposing children to this torturous form of blood lust is a cruel form of child abuse that could lead to the children to become cruel abusers in later life.

Thanks to everybody who posted in my thread. I don't agree with all of you, but you've started some interesting and valuable discussions here, and I want you to know that I appreciate it.

Sure, I have lots of other interests, like religion, metaphysics, linguistics, ethnology, anime, Marvel comics, movies, TV series, etc. I have even written a book about one of these subjects. But I'm not going to discuss this in a thread about how an animal rights organization is suing the city of Los Angeles for allowing orthodox jews to torture and murder chickens.

Well, if cruelty against animals is part of the culture in question, then yes, I would say that it's wrong.
I don't think that one has to be a leftist in order to oppose cruelty against animals.

If you can't stop the Jews from mutilating the genitalia of their male children what hope is there of stopping their cruelty to animals?

If you're talking about circumcision, that practice is not limited to Jews and hardly equivalent to animal cruelty. By the way, not all Jews engage in the form of animal cruelty described in the OP.

Good fried chicken is the best fried chicken when you know it's also dead.
Maybe we should graze on prairie grass, and suck on ice instead.

Truth is, there is no life without death. Always been so. It comes neatly carved and wrapped in cellophane but we all (almost all) pay a trained assassin to kill it for us. Deer season is almost here!

The men of the Lewis & Clark expedition ate an average of nine pounds of meat per day per man east of the divide. Tough duty poling and pulling those flatboats against the current.

    Meat is essential to civilization.

Thanks for bringing up Lewis & Clark. Theirs was "tough duty" indeed.

As I understand it, the point of this thread / topic is not whether meat eating is good or bad but how the animal or bird is "harvested" aka killed
In the instance cited in the OP (Opening Post), the meat was not eaten at all but just wasted which I feel is shameful if not sinful given the amount of hunger in prosperous America

Industrial animal husbandry and industrial meat processing are extremely cruel, e.g. cauterizing the beaks of millions of chickens in small cages where they never can move during their life cycles. But people get their chicken nuggets for cheap. Personally I'd rather pay more.

Governmental regulations do waste a lot of meat, e.g. the Orthodox cannot give their chickens away. Here we hunters cannot give deer meat to the homeless and the soup kitchens or community kitchens cannot serve deer meat. We eat all that we kill, but deer sausage does get tiring.

In the bush if I ever see someone with their appendage out abusing or about to abuse an animal I'm going to send their soul PCS.

Please google "Hunters for the Hungry". It is an organization that makes it easier to donate that left over deer sausage to soup kitchens etc

Footnote they also have a very high power and costly English repeating air rifle along that they used both to hunt with and to impressed the Indians they ran into along the way.

In 1997, a Swiss animal rights activist was sent to prison for opposing jews' torture and murder of animals:

The suffering of innocent civilians didn't stop at the end of WW2, it just shifted to different individuals:

"Rape Of Germany After It Lost In 1945"

EXCERPT "We are ceaselessly reminded of the Third Reich’s wartime concentration camps. But few Americans are aware that such infamous camps as Dachau, Buchenwald, Sachsenhausen and Auschwitz were kept in operation after the end of the war, only now packed with German captives, many of whom perished miserably."CONTINUED

Plenty of complaints from the leftists.

I missed the suggestions of how they could be slaughtered with less pain.

When they were confronted by the first grizzly the hunting party had only the 1792 contract rifles that took about a minute to re-load. It took 12 balls to bring the grizzly down and two men had to run for it and narrowly escaped as others were firing into the bear. iirc there were six men in the hunting party and they left the grizzly where it fell, although they usually brought both black and brown bear meat back to the river camp, estimating well where the boats would be. George Drewyer, half Canadian and half Shawnee civilian, was hired as hunter, scout, and interpreter, was a crack shot, and was usually in the hunting party. Without Drewyer and Sacajawea the expedition would likely have failed imo.

The shortcoming of the air rifle was that it took more than a thousand hand pumps to get it ready for repeat firing. My guess is that the tribes were never shown the pump-up part of operating the rifle when it was fired for show. Captain Lewis kept the air rifle close to his own vest.

My understanding was that the air rifle once pump up would maintain that state for a prolong period of time.

All in all in most likely combat situations I think I would prefer the air rifle to their gunpowder arms.

God the English gunsmiths was the best in the world bar none when it came to small personal weapons. Love their shotgun revolver combination. Wish like hell that a modern design of such a weapon would be legal as it would seem a perfect close quarter self defense gun.

Now the English olympic pistol team need to leave their country to practice for the games.

Sorry to get so very very far off topic.

Well, we're still on the subject of meat and bringing it down. Just a portable air tank with 125 psi in it makes me nervous but Lewis' air rifle apparently held 800 psi:

Quoting The American Rifleman: "Capt. Lewis. Sept. 8, 1803.' ... dined with Colo. Rodney.'

Fortunately, Rodney was a bit more verbose about the encounter.

Thomas Rodney. Sept. 8, 1803. “Visited Captain Lewess barge. He shewed us his air gun which fired 22 times at one charge. He shewed us the mode of charging her and then loaded with 12 balls which he intended to fire one at a time; but she by some means lost the whole charge of air at the first fire. He charged her again and then she fired twice. He then found the cause and in some measure prevented the airs escaping, and then she fired seven times; but when in perfect order she fires 22 times in a minute. All the balls are put at once into a short side barrel and are then droped into the chamber of the gun one at a time by moving a spring; and when the triger is pulled just so much air escapes out of the air bag which forms the britch of the gun as serves for one ball. It is a curious peice of workmanship not easily discribed and therefore I omit attempting it.”

The airgun that Rodney described was unique enough to be instantly recognizable as the type designed by C.G. Girandoni and adopted by the Austrian military in the late 1700s. Girandoni was an inventor and designer who seemed to have a fascination with repeating firearms. He is now best known for his repeating airgun that was adopted by the Austrian army. The description of a Girandoni is unique to airgun mechanisms. The gun had a buttstock that also served as an air reservoir. This small air tank held 800 p.s.i. of air pressure delivered by a rod-piston pump device that took close to 1,500 strokes to reach capacity. On the right side of the rifled barrel was attached a small tubular magazine that held 22 .46-cal. lead balls. Gravity fed them into a sliding breech block held taut by a straight leaf spring. By flicking his thumb and forefinger against the breech and cocking the hammer with his off hand, the shooter could load and fire the 22 shots in under a minute, just as described by Rodney."

End quote of The American Rifleman, April 11, 2011

A quiet Indian brave could have wreaked havoc with that air rifle.
