Seems to me like you completely forgot about inflation, the country's number one problem. And, you seem to have also forgotten that rising wages haven't kept up with the inflation rate.

Nope! I "forgot" nothing. Russia had not invaded Ukraine and China had not had a re-emergence of Covid when this thread was opened. If it weren't for those, inflation would still exist. Because people having more money and spending more would inevitably increase prices (Ref: offer/demand). But if consumption has not decreased even with those two factors, it's reasonable to assume that inflation would be controlled by now.

It has for low wage earners who were unemployed, which was the topic of this thread. Now they have lots of options. Employment at the lower end of the pay scale is abundant and quite well paid.

LOL. That's a lot of words for ignoring the fact that 75% of Americans feel the country is on the wrong track (inflation #1) and Democrats will take the fall for that come November. The left's attempts at spinning that have fallen on deaf ears.

So I provided a serious response to your post, and you didn't even bother to read it. Remind me not to bother doing that any more in the future.

And what happens when wages go up with no additional production..... Biden is a 'stable genius?' That's almost as funny as 'Trump is a stable genius'.......

Voters in November will decide if they buy your BS. Right now 75% of them think the country is headed in the wrong direction and the left's response is, we can't do anything about it so let's keep on doing the same things. Wages are NOT keeping up with the inflation rate. The higher they go the higher inflation goes. I don't know if you guys will ever figure that out.

This is so ridiculous that it's hard to believe its not parody. Yet is the same thing Whisper Creep Biden said when he bragged that funding a workers strike against companies trying to exit COVID would raise real wages. It did not. Real Wages have crashed in a fire storm of inflation as shortages have spread throughout the country.

Maybe if you tap your head as you jump up and down on one foot a question will form in your mind: "How will the goods and services that a healthy society needs become available if all the workers are sitting home on their asses collecting unemployment?"
WELCOME BACK, CARTER! Ben Bernanke sees “stagflation” ahead.

Pay folks NOT to work and you get stagflation.

When you work, you add to the pool of goods and services and then if you withdraw an equal value in currency, you have a balanced economy. You and Dementia Joe think that you can pay workers to be idle and then stand around dumbfounded when shortages of goods and services develop? You claim you operate a business, but frankly given your lack of knowledge about economic fundamentals makes me question that. Maybe you are in a business that requires nothing more than a lot of talking without any real deliverables.

WELCOME BACK, CARTER! Ben Bernanke sees “stagflation” ahead.

“Even under the benign scenario, we should have a slowing economy,” he said. “And inflation’s still too high but coming down. So there should be a period in the next year or two where growth is low, unemployment is at least up a little bit and inflation is still high,” he predicted. “So you could call that stagflation.”

Inflation is demand destruction and it's necessary because the economy did not adequately SUPPLY goods and services, so shortages develop, prices rise until demand is destroyed until equilibrium is reestablished with supply. The limiting factor for the COVID exiting economy was obviously going to be the supply of goods and services. How is it that you are unable to grasp that despite being hit over the head with it?

"The difference between inflation and unemployment is that inflation affects just everybody,” he said. “Unemployment affects some people a lot, but most people don’t respond too much to unemployment because they’re not personally unemployed. Inflation has a social-wide kind of impact.”

Look for Demand Destruction to result in bankruptcies and layoffs.

One day you will realize that isn't actually a good thing. The constant reaching for adversives and punishments by the Left is really getting tiresome for the rest of country. It's always smashed mouth with some folks. If only they could see the good in things and appreciate them and take pleasure in an honest day's work and job well done.

It is the excuse they make for importing illegal aliens. They won't admit that the real reason is to import future voters.

Cheering the deliberate destruction of the US economy.

Biden and the Dems aren't the well meaning screw ups they pose as, this was a deliberate attack on the US economy designed to destroy demand because they think we should be content with less. They, of course, live lives of opulent splendor and excess.

They knew the unnecessary Biden/Dem Stim Checks would destroy jobs and ignite inflation.

HERE COMES STAGFLATION: Weekly mortgage demand from homebuyers tumbles 12%, as higher interest rates take their toll.

"the damage has already been done to housing affordability. Both refinance and purchase loan demand dropped, pulling total mortgage application volume down 11% for the week, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association’s seasonally adjusted index."

"home prices are up more than 20% from a year ago."

But your real wages are DOWN.

A "conspiracy" theory? Your OP and topic title cheers job destruction!

The Degrowthers on the Left cheer all sorts of destruction, Jobs, Demand, Downtowns.

Here come the layoffs - stay tuned for the wave of bankruptcies.

Initial Jobless Claims Surge To 4 Month High, Philly Fed Plunges
    [IMG]
"Kentucky, California, and Pennsylvania dominated the rise in jobless claims..."

    Dems killed the Trumpian Prosperity.

"This labor market pain echoes weakness seen in recent survey data - such as ISM Manufacturing and Empire Fed and this morning we saw Philly Fed's Business Outlook survey plunge from 17.6 to 2.6 (massively missing expectations of 15.0)."

"Employment fell to 25.5 vs 41.4"

Demented Biden and the Deadly Dems Deliberately Sabotaged American Industry with the 1-2 punch of funding a workers strike through unnecessary Unemployment Extensions followed by an Unconstitutional vaccine mandate. Now businesses are gobbling up inventory.

"Inventories fell to 3.2 vs 11.9"

"Unfilled orders rose to 17.9 vs 5.7"

    "Six-month outlook fell to 2.5 vs 8.2"
"Six-month outlook for capex fell to 9.6 vs 19.9"

"So sentiment is slumping, financial conditions are tightening (at their tightest since Dec 2018's flip-flop), and now the jobs market is floundering."

Biden and the Dems pulled off the ultimate hit job on the US economy.

    Toldja.

You got what you wanted, but the inflation monster is devouring it.

Taco Bell is raising its average minimum wage to $15 an hour at its company-owned restaurants by mid-2024, the company announced Tuesday. The chain is also rolling out additional employee benefits, including complimentary therapy for corporate employees at restaurants and its headquarters.Dec 14, 2021

I went to Taco Bell last weekend. There was a big sign offering $15 an hour NOW. And consider this: It was $8 an hour not to long before I wrote that

Yes!!!! If necessary. It's $17 an hour now in places that started offering $15 an hour a year ago.

Of course, the inflation right now is more due to gas prices because of the war in Ukraine, as well as the resurgence of Covid in China.... as well as low interest rates (though this last one can and is being remedied), instead and not because of Covid relief benefits like a year ago. But low wage earners have a lot of options. People in more high paying jobs are the ones getting the biggest hit. But, as I have been saying, they can STILL afford it. Flights and Hotels are full. Amusement parks are full. Highways still have huge traffic jams. There are long lines in Taco Bell's drive-through...

Where the hell did you get the idiotic notion that this thread was about average earnings?

Fake News. Multiple Job Holders are UP under the Biden/Dem wage destroying attack on the American People

And your claim that this would raise real wages, more fake news.

New Inflation Data Show Real Wages in Decline.

The June Consumer Price Index just came out, and it reports that prices rose 9.1% from June 2021 to June 2022. "That’s the biggest increase we’ve seen yet in our current inflation surge and the biggest spike in consumer prices in 40 years." A generation of progress against the ravages of inflation, wiped out by Biden and the Dems in just 18 months.

Biden and the Dems "inflation is hitting working class families so hard, as costs surge for the essentials Americans rely on:"
    • Food 10.4%
    • Chicken 18.6%
    • Eggs 33.1%
    • Seafood 11%
    • Bacon 11.9%
    • Rice 11.9%
    • Milk 16.4%
    • Fuel oil 98.5%
    • Gas 59.9%
    • Public transportation 23.7%
    • Fresh fruits and veggies 8.1%
    https://bls.gov/news.release/cpi.nr0.htm

    Biden/Dem disaster.

Americans’ real wages have decreased by 3.6% over the last year.

I already debunked your nonsense in this very same thread. I'm talking about people at the LOWER end of the pay scale ONLY. I used Florida as an example, and they can now find a job making $17 (it was $15 when I opened this thread), whereas before they were making $8. So, again: the jobs that are killed are THOSE that don't pay people a living wage.
