What you want is irrelevant. It's what Trump and the Trumpistas are determined to do that we're discussing,

What insults? Please tell, I can be infracted for insults.

If they were illegal why is the Justice Dept letting them get away?. Why did it let them go underground and get new identities in the 8 years they were here. Proof of the pudding....

Your links prove that WH employees are subject to the Hatch Act. Perhaps that was your intention.

Yup, Trump will be flying on Air Force One, not his own aircraft for the 2020 campaign. Air transportation was free for the taxpayer in 2016, but in 2020 we got to pay out the money for air transportation. Does this violate the Hatch Act?:roflol:

You didn't need one though, you agreed. That's the point. Picture was a great description.

Executive Office of the President employees are exempt. This includes Whitehouse staff on all levels.

So you and Chuck are the only ones that know he's playing chess? Someone better inform the masses.

"It's official: Chuck Schumer is the worst negotiator in Washington — even worse than Trump," said Murshed Zaheed, political director for the liberal group CREDO.
"He went to the mats," said Frank Sharry, the executive director of the immigration advocacy group America's Voice. "He had the backbone to lead his caucus into a high-stakes, high risk battle. It thrilled progressives."

Should Democrats blink first, he predicted, "The era of good feeling quickly will be replaced by anger and disappointment."
    "Today's cave by Senate Democrats
led by weak-kneed, right-of-center Democrats — is why people don't believe the Democratic Party stands for anything," said Stephanie Taylor, co-founder of the Progressive Change Campaign Committee. "These weak Democrats hurt the party's brand for everyone and make it harder to elect Democrats everywhere in 2018."

    More FAIL.

    Who is exempt.

    • (i) an employee paid from an appropriation for the Executive Office of the President; or
    • (ii) an employee appointed by the President, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, whose position is located within the United States, who determines policies to be pursued by the United States in the nationwide administration of Federal laws.

The Hatch Act of 1939, officially An Act to Prevent Pernicious Political Activities, is a United States federal law whose main provision prohibits employees in the executive branch of the federal government, except the president, vice-president, and certain designated high-level officials[1] from engaging in some forms of political activity. It went into law on August 2, 1939. The law was named for Senator Carl Hatch of New Mexico. It was most recently amended in 1940.[2]

Which part of this confuses you?

It's kind of logic 101. Everything eminating from the Whitehouse is 'political' in nature as it must be to accomplish anything in a political environment.

Not this.... Trump can tweet all the lies and bluster about winning the shutdown, cause we all know that's crap and it's directly from one end of him. "Accomplishing" a simple WH voice mail doesn't need to be political at all. All ya gotta say is 'the govt is closed... try again later'.

Payback is going to be a bitch if Mitch doesn't come through...

Fail by you, Hoosier. Instead of relying on Wikipedia at face value, why don't you go ahead and actually post a link to the section of the statute that provides that exemption. (I'll give you a heads-up. The exemptions that you are referring to existed in the act in 1940. I can't find any exemption in the existing legislation today.)

Here is the current definition of "employee".
Here is a link to the current legislation. Click on "employee". Or post your own link to the exemption.

One of the footnotes on the Wikipedia page provides us with a legal memo from the Congressional Research Service, from just a couple of years ago.

Here is a nice little gem from that memo.
So, are you prepared to walk it back now and admit you were wrong?

Show me the law or where in the Constitution the POTUS has the authority to waive federal immigration law to allow people to illegally immigrate.

Because up until Trump ended it he was wanting Congress to address the issue.. You know checks and balances.. It wasnt until recently a federal judged blocked Trump ending an EO ( which he has full authority to do) that this was an issue.

I think I've identified the problem: you're using logic to talk to liberals.

You are under Title Five not the hatch act.
So go for it... Show in the 2012 Amendment to the act that Trump or Pence could not want a voice mail changed.

Btw the title of the article is
US shutdown: White House voicemail changed to blame Democrats

So umm that is a far cry from breaking the Hatch act.
