Still half way decent city. Most of Atlanta is violent and the major hub for drug cartels. I loved that city but left it 30 yr.s ago. I know every street and corner of my home town and Stone Mountain too. We had a place in Atlanta and 100 acres in Stone Mountain where I grew up. Now both places are danger zones.
I bought his original 2005 book this morning from Amazon. He has a couple other titles out and one called New Confessions of an Economic Hitman, 2016. Yes, I have read quite a bit about the CIA, their advisors, etc. My very liberal brother who lived overseas for several years as a professor and journalist has told me some stories. Some of his thoughts seem warped and 180 from mine so we don't often speak anymore. I actually worked on an Army HQ project in Germany. There was one floor set aside for what I suspected to be for them. We had secret clearances but not for anything beyond the shell of that floor. The military always changes a lot of stuff around after we design it so I never saw it completed. I'll follow up with you after I read the book. Thanks.
The US Government, who owned it because the prior "owner" had a VA Mortgage and did not keep up with their payments.
Not taking sides but it only belongs to you if you pay Uncle Sam rent every year. And there are the mineral rights thing too for most don't own the dirt they live on if they don't own the mineral rights. Before property taxes we did own property though. Forgot who created the property tax?
I've got title insurance. Any "natives" who wish to make a claim can take it up with them. The house itself was built in the late 1950's, by whom I couldn't tell you. Likewise I have no idea what, if anything, was on this land prior to that. Just because some "native" might have propped up a tent here once 400 years ago does not give any living person any valid claim.
This is impossible to take land from natives since they didn't believe in ownership. They thought mother nature owned the land. So we took it from the natives spirit in the sky not natives who were not really native to The Americas they were Asian as evidenced by their DNA. They came across the Eurasian Stepps ,forgot how many years ago that was though. Point is nobody is where they originated from.
Kinda silly. Of course you understand that most land on this earth, regardless of the nation, once belonged to someone else and was "taken". Right? Or did you think only america was taken? Might be a few places where the population there in control, were the very first people to inhabit the land. China comes to mind. but I know little of their long term history.
Well, think of Israel! They claim Palestine was theirs 3000 years ago, and although they left and others settled there for 1000 or more years, they now want it back and are getting it, no sweat! WHY can't the American Natives not claim the same?
They could claim it, but no chance the american people would give it back. For they didn't personally take it. Most americans are not of settler families, like me, but came later as immigrants.
Pretty much only a deed on file with, in my case, the county government. In my case, myself (jointly with my wife) are the only persons who have that valid claim.
Same with the Israelis... they came from Europe and Russia and took "their" God-given land by force from the Palestinians. So, the stronger nation takes what it wants and gets to keep it. Too bad - so sad for suckers!
Yes, I understand and know the process... I, too, am an immigrant. But shouldn't we will our property back to the Natives when we leave the planet?
