Iraq/Syria: Danger From US White Phosphorus | Human Rights Watch Smoking and burning white phosphorus streaks to the ground in west Mosul on June 2, 2017. Then I guess Russia should begin regime change activities in the United States, no? What about when you factor this in? US-led coalition killed more Syrian civilians than Isis or Russia in in March, figures show - The Independent Report: U.S.-Led Coalition Killed More Syrian Civilians Than ISIS or Assad in May -Democracy Now! 'Staggering' number of civilians killed by American-led air strikes, UN war crimes investigators say - The Independent Still no? I agree but if you support overthrowing Assad for allegedly (still not proven) killing civilians with chemical weapons then you should also support a foreign regime change effort in the U.S. In related news: Media Spin Headlines to Downplay US Responsibility for Mosul Massacre - FAIR Giant Humanitarian Crisis in Yemen Gets Little Media Attention Yemen at 'point of no return' as conflict leaves almost 7 million close to famine - The Guardian
The US is exempt from the Treaty. Obama deposited a reservation on January 21, 2009 that allowed for "the right to use incendiary weapons against military objectives located in concentrations of civilians where it is judged that such use would cause fewer casualties and/or less collateral damage than alternative weapons." Upon ratification: Reservation: "Article 7 (4) (b) of the Convention shall not apply with respect to the United States." Declaration: The United States declares, with reference to the scope of application defined in article 1 of the Convention, that the United States will apply the provisions of the Convention, Protocol I, and Protocol II to all armed conflicts referred to in articles 2 and 3 common to the Geneva Conventions for the Protection of War Victims of August 12, 1949. Understandings: The United States understands that article 6 (1) of the Protocol II does not prohibit the adaptation for use as booby-traps of portable objects created for a purpose other than as a booby-trap if the adaptation does not violate paragraph (1)(b) of the article. The United States considers that the fourth paragraph of the preamble to the Convention, which refers to the substance of provisions of article 35 (3) and article 55 (1) of additional Protocol I to the Geneva Conventions for the Protection of War Victims of August 12, 1949, applies only to States which have accepted those provisions. 21 January 2009 Upon Consent to be bound by Protocol III Reservation: “The United States of America, with reference to Article 2, paragraphs 2 and 3, reserves the right to use incendiary weapons against military objectives located in concentrations of civilians where it is judged that such use would cause fewer casualties and/or less collateral damage than alternative weapons, but in so doing will take all feasible precautions with a view to limiting the incendiary effects to the military objective and to avoiding, and in any event to minimizing, incidental loss of civilian life, injury to civilians and damage to civilian objects.” Understanding: “It is the understanding of the United States of America that any decision by any military commander, military personnel, or any other person responsible for planning, authorizing or executing military action shall only be judged on the basis of that person’s assessment of the information reasonably available to the person at the time the person planned, authorized, or executed the action under review, and shall not be judged on the basis of information that comes to light after the action under review was taken.” https://treaties.un.org/pages/ViewDetails.aspx?src=TREATY&mtdsg_no=XXVI-2&chapter=26&lang=en
Very interesting. And indeed, "one of the main functions of the international institutional order is precisely to legitimate the use of deadly military force by Western powers."
Nobody cares anymore as it is a political propoganda game between Russia and the US. Both have pushed civilian deaths and both of them (quite comically) sit there and try to act holier than though. I don't believe these statistics as I have seen too many media sources flat out lie.
For U.S. policymakers it's like stepping on ants. Airstrike monitoring group overwhelmed by claims of U.S.-caused civilian casualties - The Washington Post Smoke rises after an apparent US-led coalition airstrike on Minaze village near Kobane, Syria (EPA/TOLGA BOZOGLU)
That is terrible. Enough to kick me off emotional balance for today, I.. Guess I will.. Just.. I just will go for now. It just wrong.
When you make an obvious "troll" post--it is always advisable to put in a sentence (or 2) addressing the topic of the thread. Just a friendly reminder. And, on topic: Syria has become such a cluster fork, that everything is fair game. Carry on.
Why have a conspiracy theory section, if this can be put in this section? Those photos include corpses that have clearly been decomposing for quite some time. Do you really expect anyone to fall for this? You really think some random dude on the internet is enough of a credible source, to change anyone's mind?
Wait, can you still edit your thread title? Please add a warning. Those pictures are startling. Their merit can be discussed if the sources can be verified later. I know we are all adults but those images are beyond shocking. Please add a warning.
The USA regime leaders should be tried for war crimes, crimes against humanity, mass murder, genocide and what ever else fits..the USA is lead by the despots in the Pentagon who seek eternal war to justify their existence...one can only hope the USA collapses sooner than later, then we will get some stability on the planet.
This is just sad. It's sad that you people have nothing better to do, than make fake posts, using existing internet photos, to make a completely ridiculous fake story. That said, it's amusing watching all the feigned outrage. /popcorn
So, you claim that use of white phosphorus ammo is a lie, by the Human Rights Watch at very least, apparently. Prove to me that they are lying.
Yep ... and if the Russians use the same stuff and cause civilian victims in your sphere, you will react the same or are you then one of the comical hypocrisy US examples only?
Sorry, but this is no fake and the US Air Force still confirmed to use White Phospor and they rate this not as chemical weapon, but as fire bomb! They still used in Iraq since 2003 and it was not only never denied by the US that they use it, but they told that it is a valid weapon system to use - point! So what is here fake now again? All true and also the victims! B U T Before any Troll from the faction "I hate the West and the USA" artificially upset ... sorry ... Keep your snout and shut up! The Russian air forces have bombed exactly phosphorus bombs in Syria and bombarded Aleppo, among other things! This is also proven, even if this unpleasant truth is denied, of course!
It's always fun to watch leftys talk about military matters ... they only prove they know nothing about it. Show a few horror pictures from wherever and whenever ... add in a few pictures of things burning ... pics of WP used to create smokescreens ... then claim the US is deliberately sprinkling WP over civilians. Same BS over and over again. This reminds me of the numerous wedding parties in Iraq we deliberately bombed just for the fun of it ... just cause we can. Sorry leftys ... WP is extremely useful as a military weapon ... its was used to save lives in the hedgerows of France and is saving lives now. Anyone who bought into this crap has been Grubered ... again.
I agree with you so far, but I can puke about this accusing BS of "lefties" ... If you could stop this, it would be better, because these "righties" are not better as we all have learned and so it does not matter if left or right to create BS! Also... the use of WP over civilian areas if done is really a problem and a crime.
Well ... you're gonna have to put up with my remarks about leftys. I know very well about the nutburgers on the right ... they're harmless. They're pikers compared to the radical and violent lefty nutburgers in the US today ... not to mention around the world. To compare Conservatives to leftys is rather silly. Using WP to create a smokescreen, or burn out a fighting position, even in civilian areas, is not a problem or a crime. I just read a story about an international civilian agency in Iraq that saved civilians being targeted by ISIS ... they called for help from the US and a US aircraft responded with WP bombs to create a smokescreen.
