I'm a liberal and all for the death penalty for the guilty......as are righties who selfishly ignore the fact that innocent people have been put to death for crimes they didn't commit.

 

The "guilty" are decided by our judicial/jury system. Once they are found "guilty" and executed we shouldn't look back or second guess. I guarantee you the unborn baby is not guilty of anything except living.

Sure. I mean, you can’t just kick them off the boat in any old way, there’s a procedure to follow. You’d have to go to a properly regulated port and have the qualified officials there remove the passenger from your ship. It’d be unfortunate but you’d be perfectly within your rights to do so if you truly can’t possibly face taking them to their destination and especially if they risked doing serious damage to your ship or they were so terminally sea-sick and had little change of surviving the journey anyway.

A fetus can't be guilty or innocent of anything, it's not a legal person.

 

There are literally people who call women murderers for aborting a pregnancy which endangered their lives.

Arizona went as well as to actually pass a law which allowed doctors to legally lie to and misinform a patient about complications in their pregnancy if the doctor felt that learning about the complication would cause the patient to choose to abort the pregnancy. This includes complications which are directly life threatening to the mother. And it gives these "doctors" full immunity if the patient dies as a result of a complication they refused to inform them of. They can't be charged with any form of murder or manslaughter, or be sued for malpractice.

Jake, our bodies are vessels for our souls, unless you are an absolute atheist or nihilist. My analogy is of a vessel as a body and a stowaway as an unwanted individual, or unborn child. It is accurate.

 

Good argument. But if their removal means death in every circumstance, then it is never a good thing. I agree that in certain unfortunate circumstances it is necessary to preserve the mother's life.
