You continue to make criticisms without taking in to consideration the admin and the Pentagon thought they would have more time to withdraw. Without adding that context your observations are disingenuous.

When the Taliban told them to be out by May 1st as per the agreement and they started taking over city by city in record time starting May 1st, what was it that made Biden think we had more time?

 

WRONG, according to Pentagon spokesperson Kirby, out of that 37,000, less than 2500 ae Americans and 200o of those Americans were evacuated with the Embassy.
Which means they have only evacuated 500 Americans since.

My post refutes yours that claimed that Joe Biden was bound by the Taliban-American agreement to bungle the specific plans to evacuate Americans. Simple fact. I know you're depending upon the equivocation fallacy to fool some people, but it doesn't really work.

 

Why would Kirby give desperate spin? He got nailed down on his evacuation numbers by the press. They were tired on hearing these numbers without any numbers of Americans.
Now we know only 500 have been evacuated after Biden left 10,000 behind.

Not exactly. What he wanted was to withdraw, but on a timetable of his choosing. Not the one he was forced in to by the Taliban holding us to the May 1 date Trump set or they'd begin attacks again. Which is not to say the chaotic withdrawal is all Trump's fault. I've already acknowledged Biden bears responsibility for a number of miscalculations. But not the key one.......the speed of the Taliban's advance to Kabul.

 

Biden left 10K behind? I thought the military was still in Kabul evacuating people and equipment.

 

You mean the military Joe ordered to stay at the airport and not go in to get our people out while Germany, France, Britain, and the Dutch sent over their own forces to go door to door to get their people out.
Then Biden tells stranded Americans they have to make their own way to the airport while the Taliban has every checkpoint covered.

 

Yes, I'm serious. The specific plans WE have for evacuating people is NOT the same as the agreement we made with the Taliban. That's simple fact. It's non-controversial. It's demonstrable. Yet you persist in confusing the two.

Recall Biden established the Sept. 11 timetable in April, before it became apparent the Taliban was meeting little to no resistance from the Afghan security forces.

 

So let me get this straight, the president and military leader in Kabul absconded with millions in cash days before the evacuation and 90 American provided aircraft were packed full of Afghan soldiers evacuating Kabul days before the evacuation yet Biden and his intelligence didn't have a clue the Afghan military would crumble?

Are they really that stupid?

And then the Taliban told Biden if he didn't get out by May they would start their seizure of the country. Biden ignored the threat and the Taliban did EXACTLY what the said they would.
So Biden could evacuate the Embassy and troops in a single overnight order but he couldn't do it anytime during the 4 months he was given where there would be no Taliban in Kabul.

From what I've read there wasn't much faith in the Afghan military on the whole but no one expected it to completely disintegrate so quickly. Obviously Biden was advised there would be more time so the withdrawal could be conducted in a more orderly fashion.

 

So appearances would conclude, Biden wanted to change the date so he appeared to be the one who negotiated the end of the war at the risk of our own citizens which we are all paying for now.

 

Anyone I know of during my time in the Army would come to conclusion watching Kabul's leader and 90 American aircraft full of Afghan troops abandon the city would come to the immediate conclusion that no military force exist. Why would Bidens intelligence or military leaders come to some other conclusion?
