Agreed, but I have to believe if it were 70 million, we would definitely know.

Not if there almost all asymptomatic. And that another of those questions for which we currently don't have an answer. What percentage of cases are asymptomatic.

I very much doubt that a vaccine is going to be widely available in 6 months. 9 months maybe. If we're lucky. I agree that there will probably be more mask wearing. But only if Biden is elected. However, I wouldn't consider that "going back to normal"

I completely agree. They turned mask wearing into a political issue. And this is the reason why we have the worst response in the world to this pandemic.

I don't understand your question. What goals changed? If you mean the goals of health authorities, they are now and have always been to save as many lives as possible. If you mean this President's goals, they are now and have always been to get himself re-elected regardless of how many Americans die in the process.

BTW, we did overwhelm many hospitals during the first wave. We are closer to doing that now in some places. And the 2nd wave is just starting. If we don't get people to wear masks and follow CDC protocols, it's going to get bad.

Not on Trump's watch, we weren't.

    And that's the scariest part.

So the plan was "get a cure"

    That's not a plan. That's a goal.

Trump loyalists once again claiming that if Dinosaurs had denied that an asteroid was heading towards the Earth, they would still exist today.

The cure, the human race dealing with the virus, is herd immunity. In many places we have reached that.

The oft-repeated claim that "the experts" are going to "control" the virus or "save us" from the virus is pure sophistry, meant to mesmerize the credulous amongst us.

As Trump's experience will demonstrate, most people get over it just fine. Herd immunity is the inevitable result.

I don't know. I can't get in the heads of Trumpian science deniers. But we know most of them won't.

Totally illogical, dinosaurs hadn't the technological capacity to do anything about an asteroid had they known it was coming. Oh and for your and Leah education a cure is a treatment that attacks and kills a disease causing agent and shortens recovery time. Both Rendesivir and various antibody treatments do that. Neither are magic bullets because magic bullets don't exist. Every cure we have for every disease for which we have a cure takes time to work.

A cure is a treatment that kills the disease causing agent and shortens recovery time. That is exactly what rendesavir does. So do various antibody treatments. There are also palliative treatments that reduce symptoms but do nothing to treat the underlying cause. You seem confused as to the difference between cures and silver bullets.

    Read the definition.

None of the TREATMENTS being used meet that

    INCORRECT words

":A cure is a substance or procedure that ends a medical condition,"
