What Don't You Like About The Gay Community?

By biggest thing is the absolute tolerance of ANY sexual deviency. A straight community would get pitchforks if a man suggested sex with 8-9 year old girls was a good thing. If a gay man says the same about little boys, the gay community doesn't get upset.

 

I was having a drink with a gal friend of mine and a gay guy we knew sat down and said, "What blinks on top and screws on the bottom?".

I asked, "What"?

He started blinking his eyes.

What I don't like are people who think there is a gay community. A friend of mine kept talking about the gay community so I started listing off people I wanted over for a community portrait. After a moment he grinned and said, "They all pretty much hate each other." Bingo.

I like my gay friends but I see no more "community" there than I do with heterosexuals.

 

I don't have anything against the gay community except when the guy cutting my hair started yelling and making raspberries at his phone because his boyfriend he was mad at kept calling.

I took my daughter to dinner downtown for her 16th birthday and the waiter, at a restaurant that was usually staffed by gays. The rather short waiter walked up and accidentally kicked my foot. My foot was pretty far inside the booth so I looked down and saw a pair of clown sized shoes. I asked him the size he wore and the answer was size 15. When he left I told my daughter he was probably pretty popular. She said embarrassed, "Oh dad!"

 

GLAAD. I dislike GLAAD.

When they "force" comedians to go on a PR apology junket for telling a joke, they pizz me off.

ALL jokes are protected free speech, some are even funny.

GLAAD has far too much power to stifle free speech.

 

Stifling free speech is the goal of the liberal PC movement.

 

Nobody ever said free speech came with freedom of judgment and criticism for what you say...

That bing said I'm pretty easy going and tolerant for any light-hearted jokes, even those against gay people. Frankly many of the jokes are probably true, at least true of the stereotypes.

 

Gays (*)(*)(*)(*) me off when they want to enjoy the fruits of a heterosexual institution such as marriage. They should be happy with a civil union and quite (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)ing and moaning that they cannot get married as such.

They don't walk the walk so they shouldn't enjoy the heterosexual idea of "marraige" between a man and woman.

 

Which would be fine if marriage was a religious or social institution. But I'm not asking them to change that. I'm more concerned with the legal contract which happens to be called "marriage".

What they do in the privacy of their bedroom is none of my business. What they do on the streets is everyone's business.

 

So very sick of the shallow judgments surrounding the displays at Pride celebrations, which always focus on the worst examples and ignore the people who aren't being outrageous.

Those of us who don't participate in such things shouldn't be judged as if we do.

 

I don't like overly flamoyant gays that flaunt their lifestyle and throw it in peoples' faces......but I hate straights who do that do. A persons' sex life is their own business, and no one has the right to force them to change, but they need to keep it to themselves and not push it down someones' throat

Hmm...frankly I have seen some very creative and inspiring art and literature from the gay community.

That's one of the big things I enjoy about it.

 

What do I like about the gay community?

Umm, nothing that I know of.

But then again, I don't see what liking a certain group of people has to do with anything. As long as I respect their rights as an American citizen, and my rights are respected in return, is the only thing that really matters.

We would have to see the specific life-span statistics for people who feel attraction to the same gender, but decide not to be gay.
Let me give you an example: people who take antiretroviral drugs do not live as long as people who do not. Does this mean antiretroviral drugs are bad? Of course not. The people who take these drugs only have a shorter life span because they have AIDS. If someone who already has AIDS chooses not to take the drugs, they will not live as long as all the other people who do not take the drugs.

It is more probable that the correlation between homosexuality and reduced life-span is mostly caused by risky sexual behaviour, and/or stress caused by psychological problems. Choosing not to be gay is not necessarily going to change this.

What do I think about the 'Gay Community?' Is is a PUD?

 

I don't really have any problem with the gay community, that might be because most of the gay people(mostly guys) I've met are pretty nice, laid back, and polite. Which is more than I can say for some of the strait people I know.

 

As a group , Gays are very witty and savvy . They love theatre and the dramatic .
He will have summed you up instantly -- rightly or wrongly .
He could simply have known exactly how to ring your bells and decided to shock you , probably regarding you as a serious young straight guy .
I am surrounded by them in the area where I live -- they are very funny people when relaxed --- no predictable jokes please .
