God didn't sacrifice Jesus. The Romans did. Jesus could have decided
not go to the cross but did so on his own volition.

I never claimed to go to seminary. How did you come up with that?

The Romans actually let the jews decide. God still could've smote every single one of them or stopped them. Omnipotent you see.
Given the prophecies etc it is clear that Christ stands as the ultimate of blood sacrifices, hence why they call Him The Lamb. Go back and read your bible again, all of it this time.

Yes God could have stopped is could Jesus, who by the way is God.
But the point I'm making, this must be harder than I thought since so
many are having trouble, it that God didn't do it himself.

Yes, the Jews decided but the Romans crucified him.

I note you conveniently leave out the next part of your first sentence ... that being WHY an omnipotent being would sit on its hands while it's kid is being murdered. Would you do that, if you had the means to stop one of your kids being killed? If yes, then your child's blood would be on your hands.

No matter how you try to twist it, your god is responsible for the murder of his "only begotten son". omnipotence is a beeatch.

It was the decision of Jesus.

Luk 22:42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

Another way of saying it is like this: "Darn it Dad, I don't really like this idea, but if that is what you really want, then I am willing to do it."

are you truly unable to see that what you've posted supports the idea that god did indeed, sacrifice his own son?

Jesus, who is God, was to be sacrificed. That was his purpose.

When the people bring a lamb for a sacrifice they don't murder the lamb,
someone else did. Secondly, this isn't the same as someone's kid being
murdered. Can the kid just walk away? Can he do anything about it?
Jesus could have walked away but chose to die for our sins.

Offered to sacrifice. Jesus made the final decision.

is this your way of trying to live with the horror of blood sacrifice?

meantime, again, omnipotence is a beeatch.

Well, if you were Catholic you'd know that you don't confess to another man, you confess to Jesus...
And since you aren't Catholic, it doesn't matter, you're condemned to Hell...

oh yeah, I'll bet he was real willing too. just like all those believers (in hell) when offered 'my way or the lake of fire'.

I submit this is just more sunday school platitudes. They sold it to you as all jolly hockey sticks and fluffy lambs.

Well of course I am. I have never denied that Jesus was a sacrifice. Do you have a problem with what I said? BTW: as seen in the scripture I quoted, it was a consensual sacrifice... Jesus doing exactly what he was teaching the followers... sacrifice self.... kill the ego....

yeppers, consensual. just like all the believers who took the only possible 'option'.

calling the killing of an innocent 'sacrifice' doesn't sanitise a vile act, you know. it actually makes it far worse.

Not at all. Just setting you straight on what's what and what's not. You
have a difficult time knowing the difference.

actually, we who live outside the bubble see it clearly for what it is. we've not been corrupted by early brainwashing to call evil good, you see.

you've sold your soul to a blood sacrifice worshipping death cult.

let's try this from another angle. was jesus, god?

Vile in your opinion does not make something vile... it is just vile in your opinion (and perhaps the opinions of all like minded non-theists who want to argue strawmen). Any other straw men arguments that you want to entertain?

so the murder of an innocent as payment for the sins of the guilty is NOT vile?

a yes or no answer will suffice - less chance of my misinterpreting you :)

Cute. Nothing of substance. Just snide remarks that most uneducated people
resort to in order make themselves feel superior.
Yes, Jesus is God. I believe I've told you that several times.

Well, in the eyes of God it was a necessary thing... but of course everyone on this forum probably realizes that your opinion is (in your mind) rated higher than what God thinks. So, that also tells us who your role model is. Your role model also thought that his opinion and self worth was greater than that of God. He (your role model) fell short in attempting to prove that ideology of his.

BTW: Loaded questions are like an infant in need of a diaper change.

Neither. I am not obligated to respond to loaded questions. Neither is anyone else on this forum. When are you going to quit cheating on your spouse?

    So the story is wrong?
God did not impregnate a virgin?
God did not have a son?
God did not have this son become the sacrifice for all humanity?
This son, did not get crucified for all humanity?

And you claim to have gone to theology school?
