So you dont care about the Constitution just what directly affects you... You sound like many Germans during the Nazi years...

Its a little over the top but it had to be said. If you only care about what directly affects you dont be surprised when a right that you want is taken away from you.

You don't have the right to just toss rights you don't care about away like garbage or decide for other people what rights are important or not. You're being rather snobbish about it too.

IF it did "finally put an end to the senseless murder rampages which are now commonplace," I'd be all for it. Problem is, it won't. Columbine occurred during the last assault weapon ban.

Why aren't they looking in to the FACT that most all these murders include someone who is either on meds for some sort of mental problem, or just gone off it? Some of these meds are even labeled, "may cause homicidal thoughts." Let's get them in the data base too! However, even that doesn't do it....because these people have ALL gotten their guns by stealing them from people who got them legally or in some other round about manner.

I disagree with you. I have every right to have an opinion on it whether or not anyone likes it or not. It is what it is.

Following that same line of thought................

Since I am not gay I could really care less if they never get married.

Since I not poor I could really care less if they ever get a scrap of food to eat.

Since I own a car I could really care less if those that don't ever get to vote.

Do you agree with those too?

The bottom line is Unwaiverable and Obligatory.
Bureaucrat have NO Authority to take away a fundemental Right granted us
by our Founder's.NONE.These bureaucrats did not Grant such a right as the
2nd Amendment and therefore have No authority to try, of all means, just
willy-nilly it into oblivion. Our Constitution is our Rock of Gibralter.
It is our basis for who we are as a society. No amount of Pleadings by any
Politician cannot undo what hundreds of years of blood, sweat and tears have fought
to protect and preserve.I say charge any Politician with Sedition for demanding a
Repeal of Our 2nd Amendment. That's Right ... OUR.
The gall of these belligerent Politicians.Acting as if it's Their Amendment,
    exclusively to tinker with.

Laws may make you feel as if you're safe but will not deter a criminal dedicated to criminal and evil acts. If you are not a strapping young buck but wish to be capable of defending yourself or other innocent folk be prepared. Be aware of your surroundings and know who is in it. Be capable and trained. Go forth armed.

What is your preoccupation with the 'militia'??

Do you think that we would need a 'militia' to protect us when we have the National Guard, the Army, the local and state police to protect us...(possibly from the 'militia')...

Well it is a hell of a lot less likely to happen here than in other 3rd world type places. Those governments have or had millions of supporters who would fight against the rebels. In America our government would be hard pressed to get a few hundred people on their side to fight against their fellow citizens.

We don't all like each other here in America, but let the government declare war and you'll see most citizens from all walks of life coming together to fight against that.

What purpose would it serve for the government to turn on its own citizens here?

To add to that District of Columbia vs Heller 2008 ruled the "militia" has nothing to do with private gun ownership. Ya'all can flail away all ya want trying to ban guns of any type. Your arguments will never stand in the SCOTUS.

Its cafeteria style for me; I take no position on the above mentioned lines of thought. However I do take a position on the ownership of handguns which I've made clear here.

Well good. The deaths of every single government agent killed trying to confiscate guns, or children who are killed by Government agents in an attempt to confiscate guns is directly on your head. Good luck washing that blood off your hands.

    Can't really go that far...

We can't expect everyone to take a stance on every current issue going on. I don't particularly care about gay marriage. If they can marry fine, if they can't fine, I don't personally care. That doesn't mean that every crying gay person who can't marrys tears fall directly onto my shoulder does it?

If you take no position on the issues raised, then you need not comment on them in the future.

Anything to try to keep distracting the Obamite deluded as 77% of Americans start seeing their Brand New Tax Increases, courtesy of Mr. "I'll Only Tax the Rich" and his Sleazocrat cohorts.

The cities with the strictest gun control laws, have the worst murder rates...hmmmm.

    It ain't rocket science...unless your a Leftist...

Chicago isn't even one of the worst cities for violent crime in America! Let alone the world!

That's what someone said earlier lol...

Same guys who claim that Cheyenne is somehow as bad as Detroit
