The media shows people what they want to see. We love to hate white Racists, so the media shows them at every opportunity. Black racists mess with the stereotype and might scare viewers into changing the channel for something a little less confronting, so they don't show them.

The reason black comedians can make white jokes, is because they don't have a history of oppressing white people. You do get whites making jokes about blacks, but not in a derogatary way usually. Mostly about them being superior athletes, having large penis', etc. Yeah it's political correctness but meh, who cares. Give it another hundred years and then you can make jokes about them being slaves, still a bit early.

Rule #! - Asking for proof for a broad statement or opinion here will yield you, a) A cliché response, b) no response and c) anything but proof. It seems to be mainstay of certain people. Case in point, Oprah's alleged racism.

I actually spent some tine researching this and as I already knew, it's an ideological and lack of education problem. Certain people do not know what the word "racist" means and apply it to everyone and everything race related that they disagree with. With Oprah, she is at times very BIASED and perhaps even PREJUDICED in rare occasions. Even her supporters agree with that. But I could not find a single incident of her saying anything racist.

I took a look at a few wingnut forums and web sites that mentioned Oprah. Aside from being a racist, they accused Oprah of being something akin to the dreaded "antichristos." It's all the same rhetoric.

Rule #2 - Be careful what you ask for. You might even get it but I would not hold your breath.

I'm not here because I want to make friends.

I did not vote for Obama. I have not recommended that anyone else vote for Obama. I do not plan on voting for Obama next election. I have criticized him countless times on this forum.

    Stereotype fail.

Some people of EVERY ethnic group ignore or deny what is before them.

    I hope that changes/improves.

I don't see much racism from Oprah, unless I missed it. She tends to highlight her pet topics, but so does everybody. She loves to highlight oppression (child abuse and racism sometimes sexism) bcause of her own personal history. It's not like other talkers don't have their own pet causes. Still better than Springer's fight club by a long shot.

Antichrist?? Man I missed that one. Has anyone found the 666 yet?

Question: An American who says blacks and whites should not date or marry or whatever is a racist. True of false.

Well, it depends on the race of the American doesn't it. If the American is white then we have a racist. If the American is black we have an honored guest to the President Obama White House. So, golly, I guess it was a trick question.

    True.

    False.

The dictionary definition of "racism" does not make such a distinction.

Has Obama stated or implied that whites and blacks should not date or marry? Source please. kthx.

It isnt tricky at all if you pay attention. It is actualy very obvious and straight forward.

Sometimes my wife asks me what's wrong with White people. I tell her they have forgotten who they once were.

What does that even mean though? How can groups from across various continents and cultures share an identity because of the color of their skin?

Maybe you can say that with ethnic groups, but not an entire race. Black people in America are in many ways very culturally different then blacks in Africa. I'm sure the same can be said in some ways compared to whites in Europe then whites in America.

Mass immigration from Europe ended in the 1920's. This fact allowed the various european ethnicities within America to coalesce, intermarry, share values, develop a shared White identity, and a common pan-European culture unique in all the world. Between the 1920's and the 1950's this group constituted almost ninety percent of the American people. This was the group which won WWII and made America into a colussus bestriding the world. The empire they created boosted living standards for most Americans.

They are gone now for the most part except on a vestigal basis. What they did probably cannot be replicated. Nevertheless, based on my personal experiences I believe that the cultural characteristics of this older America were in many ways consistent and complimentary to cultural characteristics one sees in East Asian immigrants to America. In some locations there is already a White/Asian fusion going on. But it will be a pale shadow of what preceded it because there are so many phenomena out there militating against any form of cohesion.

I agree with that. Though I don't see much against it though. It's not looked down upon at all in California. But a lot of Asian groups are ethnocentric due to strong traditions, not racists, they are different things. I also see many White Hispanic (like Puerto Rican/Dominican) with whites as well. Though in far far smaller dosages.

Whites, Hispanics are typically not very ethnocentric so obviously they tend to marry outside of their own groups more often. There are always exceptions though. I had a Colombian friend who was dating a white girl, but her parents told her to end the relationship. He loved the girl but she couldn't say no to her parents.

The lower cultures often define their identity by race.

Americans define their identity by ideology. Social darwinism has swept race-based cultures aside in favor of superior ideology based cultures. America is a prime example of that.

That is a good way to put it. Thanks for posting that. I cringe whenever I hear people say black culture or white culture in regard to America. As if they are distinctly identifiable or separate.

"Why is Black Racism accepted and applauded?"

Because we're facing a dumbing down of society. Most people today are Liberal, anti-racist, brainwashed and mentally ill.
