    Correction: "Galicia".

Francisco Erwin Galicia, 18, is a U.S. citizen who was born in Dallas. He had and presented his birth certificate to border agents. They falsely declared it to be a forged fake and held him for 23 days as an "illegal immigrant". His mother also presented a birth certificate for him. They held him anyway.

QUESTION FOR THOSE WHO LIKE TRUMP: On what basis was Francisco held? Why was he held? Whether it was right or wrong for him to be held, he was held. WHY? ON WHAT BASIS IF NOT RACE?

This is the guy that had two different sets of ID documents tied to him. One set from Texas he had on him and another from Mexico tied to his fingerprints. And he was travelling with a group, that was comprised of some who lacked legal status.

Yeah, who would find that suspicious...

    Race? LMFAO!

No. It had to do with the fact that this idiot claimed to be a Mexican citizen.

This is what Brian Hastings, Chief of Law Enforcement at the U.S. Border Patrol, told a House committee...

“I can give you some preliminary. The individual came through the Falfurrias checkpoint. He came through with the other illegal aliens. The individual claimed to be a Mexican national who was born in Reynosa, Mexico. Throughout the process, and while he was with Border Patrol, he claimed to be a citizen of Mexico with no immigration documents to be in or remain in the U.S. Upon further investigation, we also found he had a border crossing card and that border crossing card he had used 53 times to cross the border into the U.S. which gives us further indication that he was not a U.S. citizen. At no time in Border Patrol custody did he say that he was a U.S. citizen.”

The flood of third worlders is overwhelming our system. Congress won't do anything.

Very, very rarely, mistakes will occur.

    Try again.

"Galicia was captured by CBP agents on June 27. Galicia, his younger brother, and three of their friends were on their way to a soccer scouting event. They left their hometown of Edinburg, Texas to go to Ranger College in North Texas.

The boys had to pass through a CBP checkpoint 50 miles north of Edinburg. Galicia claims to have shown his Texas ID, Social Security card, and wallet-sized birth certificate. The CBP agents did not believe Galicia and detained him to check the documents’ validity."

    https://thefederalist.com/2019/07/2...-days-u-s-customs-border-protection-facility/

Don't believe it? Then try right wing news:

"Galicia lives in the border city of Edinburg, Texas, and was traveling north with a group of friends when they were stopped at a Border Patrol inland checkpoint. According to Galan and the Morning News, agents apprehended Galicia on suspicion that he was in the country illegally even though he had a Texas state ID.

Galicia was detained for three weeks by the Border Patrol, then transferred to the ICE detention center.

Galan said she believes Galicia was “absolutely” a victim of racial profiling. The others in the vehicle with him were all Latinos."

Because we have an immigration crisis at the border and we've tasked a massive bureaucracy with trying to solve it. Bureacracy never works as intended 100% of the time. The bigger the operation, the more individual failures are to be expected.

Take the justice system for example. Shall we err to total liberty and suffer more criminals escaping justice; shall we err to total order and suffer more false imprisonment; or shall we find a balance and suffer a moderate amount of each?

Same with immigration: shall we allow it all and just support all the worlds poor, allow none while hurting some good people, or find a balance where we get some of both?

Or do you think its possible for any large bureaucratic system to be 100% effective with no errors ever?

Meanwhile our president, who desperately desires to gain some back American voter support, has interjected himself into the case of a black rapper incarcerated in Sweden, mentioning his calls to Sweden on behalf of the rapper but NEVER MENTIONING the falsely imprisoned American citizen.I can guarantee the Swedish prison conditions are far superior to the conditions the American citizen was held in by our Border Patrol.

He stopped at a checkpoint. They ran him and got back anything associated with that name: including his visitor Visa used almost 60 times that says born in Mexico no permanent status allowed. In fact since hed entered on a tourist Visa before, it was expired and he was eligible for deportation.
    His mother caused all this

Fake news. The border agents' reports say otherwise. You really need to stop reading your fake sources.

This link is the source cited for the story in the article you posted a link to in the op:

    https://www.dallasnews.com/news/imm...itizen-held-deportation-shares-like-immigrant

"Claudia Galan, Galicia’s attorney, told The News that CBPs decision to hold Galicia despite his citizenship was likely tied to the issuance of a visitor’s visa that agents found in their records after they scanned his fingerprints.

Galicia’s mother obtained the visa for him when he was a minor and claimed he was born in Mexico.

He didn’t have a U.S. passport because when he was born in Dallas, Sanjuana used a fake name on his birth certificate.

She feared the only way she’d be able to legally travel across the border with her U.S. citizen son was with the visa."

So if mom hadn't been running two sets of documents on junior, none of this would have happened.

You can't fault CBP for holding someone with falsified credentials.

He or she was wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy nicer about this than I was planning to be.

His own attorney admits his case has warts all over it. The moral of the story? Don't use false documents that have your actual name attached. That's dumb. If you're going to falsify a document, for the love of God do a whole package of them and keep your regular ID separate from the fakes by name etc.

First, that IS NOT the link in the OP.

Second, you are saying he got what he deserved because of what his mother allegedly did. And none of that is reported elsewhere, but border patrol has been shown to have lied and spun the story to cover their own butts.

Prove he did. "Altmiddle" said he didn't have two sets of conflicting IDs on him, but his mother had established a false set of documents many years ago and the border agents had access to those documents. But I have not seen any corroborating story on this version.

^ his own lawyer admits it. FFS that's a statement by party opponent admissible for its truth as a ****ing exemption (not exception) from hearsay.
