Why "women's rights" instead of "gender rights"

So, you believe biology accounts for the fact that many more men committ suicide than women, but you don't think biology accounts for the fact that 93% of the Nobel Prizes that have been won have been won by men.

Isn't this another example of your self serving hypocrisy??? I mean you believe one idea when it supports your beliefs, yet you don't believe the same idea when it doesn't support your beliefs???

 

It is true what you say about the percentages of Nobel Prize Winners but that is changing.

Women have been traditionally held back and directed toward specific studies and this is only now changing as more and more Women are entering the fields of science and technology.

Now are the sexes EQUAL...no....as I am not equal to a Woman in that I cannot give Birth and I do not have the same level of resistance to PAIN that women do as this has been proven from a Physiological Standpoint...and Women do not have anywhere NEAR the same Fragility of EGO that men do.

Men are on average physically stronger in musculature then women but not stronger as far as average immune capabilities and a wide number of other physiological specific areas.

Women are much less likely to react without thinking as men are hardwired to react violently as an act to protect the species and women have been more than willing to allow men to THINK they are in control but in reality it is WOMEN who have ALWAYS held control as just about EVERYTHING that Men do revolves around Women.

Then of course there is the SILLINESS of those men who attempt to DOMINATE WOMEN as they consider themselves ALPHA...when they are NOT!!!

Just like in the ANIMAL KINGDOM....in a Pride of Lions the ALPHA MALE LION obtains such a position not because that Lion is capable of dominating all Female Lions in the Pride nor is it because that LION spends all his time attacking other Male Lions.....but rather the ALPHA MALE IS CHOSEN AND ALLOWED BY THE GREATER NUMBER OF FEMALES TO RULE THE PRIDE DO TO THE ALPHA'S ABILITY TO BE A PROTECTOR AND WORK FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PRIDE.

If the Female Lions do not like the manner by which a specific Male Lion who is jockeying for dominance acts they will CHASE OFF THE MALE.

It is the same for HUMAN'S....but unfortunately not to the same extent as over centuries Religion and Labels have made some Women have a difficult time standing up for their rights.

I have found that it is not attempts of physical dominance or verbal abuse or idiotic strutting of colorful feathers that earns the Females respect but rather such respect that designates a True ALPHA MALE....is all about respect for the Women....always behaving and existing as a positive force that allows women to feel safe yet not smothered...being able to understand women by SIMPLY TAKING THE TIME TO LISTEN TO WHAT THEY NEED...and doing all this while not acting like some WASHCLOTH who is a man always second guessing himself and asking women..."Did I do something WRONG? Are you happy? Is it my fault?"

If a guy treats a woman the way HE would like to be treated he is going to be doing all right!!

You know....a woman will do ANYTHING for her Man....ANYTHING....as long as she feels her Man is a MAN...that treats her like a WOMAN.

I read a study in Evolutionary Biology or Cell or some other scientific journal about ten to fifteen years ago that found there is greater standard deviation between men than there is between women in many things including intelligence. Apparently the (sd) amongst men’s intelligence is greater than it is between women’s intelligence. Meaning in lay terms men, as a population, are both smarter than women and they are stupider too,

Perhaps the reason why 93% of the noble prizes that have been won have been won by men is because of the greater (sd) among men’s intelligence and not just gender and cultural bias, and perhaps greater sd among men also accounts for the fact that 68% of the homeless are men, along with gender and cultural bias of course.

Standard Deviation is a statistical term that basically says how much the individuals in a population deviate from each other. The greater the standard deviation the more the individuals deviate from each other. The less the values deviate from one another the closer the values are to each other. In other words, men and women can have the same average intelligence, but different standard deviations.

 

Part of the issue here is determining just WHAT constitutes Intelligence.

There are in reality many forms of Intelligence not just Analytic which is what current and past I.Q. tests were and are designed to measure.

There is Social I.Q....Creative I.Q....Empathic I.Q.....Emotional I.Q.....etc.

Now back in the day I.Q. tests were mandatory and all High School Students in their Jr. year had to take them along with a placement test and if a student was going to College you took a SAT.

Now I scored ridiculously high on the I.Q. Test and because of this I was HEAVILY recruited out of High School by every branch of the Service as well as by Colleges and Universities as I scored very high on my SAT as well....and I KNOW....that I.Q. Test I took was FLAWED!!!!

On a few questions I even answered in the way I KNEW they wanted me to even if another answer was better suited as I.Q. Tests and the people who create them are involved in an exercise in Masturbation!!!

There are people who have High Intelligence Levels in other areas that are not specific to Analytic thought.

I think it should be noted that one must first be nominated to receive the prize and I wouldn't be at all surprised to find that people very rarely nominate women in the Sciences for the prize. Also plenty of Organizations have been given prizes from all the categories, organizations which may encompass both men and women.

Again, this is hardly a factor in who is smarter than who. You'd be better off citing studies or articles like the one you posted earlier to me.

I personally think that men have more Science and math orientated brains than women and I believe that women have a stronger drive to pursue lives at home with the family than men do. But I do think it's wrong to pretend there isn't still some bias there though when people are considering admitting a woman into their field (or a minority for that matter). Preconceived notions and prejudiced views still hold in many people's views even to this day. But there are plenty of men and women alike who have not gone on to do great things either. There are plenty of simple people trying to live their simple lives and go about them without having to face prejudice and bias on a regular basis.

 

We discussed the IQ test in my Psychology class in college. My Professor explained that the IQ test is an extremely arbitrary test (one which there is literally no standard for) and which changes from one test to the next. It is best taken when you are a child and even then is not very reliable in determining intelligence.

 

I didn't go down this road to prove, "men are smarter than women," or even that, "men are better at math and science than women". My intent was to show the self serving hypocrisy of feminists who believe one thing when it supports their beliefs and discount the exact same idea when it doesn't support their beliefs.

However, since we've gone down this road, we're not really far off from what each of us believes. However, I believe the Nobel Prize has to be the most impartial judge of success in science because Nature is impartial. In other words, the structure of DNA would be the same regardless of the gender or race of the person who discovered it.

Now could there be bias in who was given the opportunity to make the discovery in the first place. I believe there was and there is bias in who's been and who's given the opportunities to make the discoveries, and I've acknowledged that cultural factors and bias have probably played a part in who was given the opportunities to make the discoveries in the first place in the past.

However, I strongly disagree that there exists a bias today that prevents women and minorities from being given opportunities today. If anything, a bias exists that gives women and minorities more opportunities today. I mean there are laws under the umbrella term of affirmitive action that give women and minorities more opportunities than their peers today.

And I agree, as a human construct, IQ tests are flawed. For example, IQ tests don't measure creative ability at all, and there's no doubt that creativity is a kind of intelligence. However, there is a strong correlation between high IQ scores and academic success in science. If the IQ test is good for anything it is its ability to predict academic success in science. For example, what it takes to get an answer correct on Chemistry, Physics, and Math tests is basically the same thing it takes to get answers correct on an IQ test.

And I have to believe that men generally have more aptitude for math and science than women generally do for the simple fact that so many more men study math and science than women. However, I believe this is only generally true and there are women with more aptitude in math and science than the majority of men. For example, I earned one of two high distinctions in Applied Molecular Biology and I have no doubt the women who earned the other high distinction is smarter than I am.

Because most gender dynamics involve exploiting or oppressing women. There are gender issues that affect men, which are addressed by mainstream feminism.. the only reason we're even talking about them is because of feminist theory. However, these issues have their roots in discrimination against women. Men aren't favoured in custody battles because raising children is seen as a woman's job, female-on-male rape and domestic violence victims are marginalised not because of misandry, but because men are viewed as too dominant to be abused by a woman. Hence "feminism." Discussion of gender is a discussion of women, even if the issues affect both genders.

Of course, none of you care about that, you only want to undermine women's push for equality.
