I'm not surprised that you are unable to honestly confront the long list of the sexual abuser's unfulfilled campaign commitments. Are you in denial that he failed to build his "big, beautiful wall" that he blatantly lies about, failed to repeal and replace 'ObamaCare, failed to create manufacturing jobs, failed to lower the national debt, failed to rebuild the nation's infrastructure, failed to enact religious discrimination in immigration, etc., etc. etc.

Whether you cheered for all his promises, his relentless failures largely account for his being consistently unpopular throughout his tenure, and over 7 more million Americans voting for his opponent in 2020 after only 3 million more had voted against him in 2016?

Some are thrilled by his pandering to Putin and savaging our advanced, democratic allies in NATO, but his record of failure is actually reassuring when he brays such unAmerican sentiments.

Trump was dumped at the electorate's first opportunity in 2020. More had voted for his opponent in 2016, and most of his endorsed candidates lost in 2018 and 2022.

If his subsequently being established as a sexual abuser and indicted on 91 felony counts makes him a more attractive candidate than he had been, the perversion of the GOP and the nation is extremely troubling for those who, regardless of party affiliation, embrace traditional American values. It's sad to see his worshipers so easily duped by him.

It is astounding that his whiny, grievance jamborees in which he throws his lie-filled tantrums do not render him even more repulsive to more folks.

And I'm certainly not surprised that you don't seem to have a clue.

Trump was elected to disrupt a system that has gotten totally out of control, even moving to enact a government managed economy. Anybody with half an understanding of world history can see that.

But the tilt leftward toward totalitarianism has been going on since the Wilson presidency and it's been so incremental it hasn't been noticed by most who still believe that the system has its original integrity.

I get Trump entirely since I've worked in and with the Federal government and know the mechanisms used to gradually obliterate our "Land of the free, home of the brave". And because I do understand that I can see the fruition of Trump's term rising fast in the windshield.

And the opinion of progressive gas bags is irrelevant. I can see it coming. And Trump orchestrated it.

So, again, good luck with your windmill tilt.

    But it won't help you.

Be that as it may, it’s true. But this time around it’s Biden that president, not Trump. Usually any reelection campaign is all about the sitting president, a referendum on the sitting president. This time around it a referendum on both. It seems you have much more confidence in Biden than I do to defeat Trump. Most Americans are speaking that they don’t want this rematch and don’t want either one. Of course, they’re going unheard by the two major parties. So, what happens will happen.

I can’t understand the fascination with Trump, I won’t pretend to do so. I do however understand why most Americans don’t want Biden reelected. They have major doubts about his age and mental fitness, his ability to survive another term as president. They think Biden’s done a very poor job. Although there’s plenty of time for that to change. But more time won’t alleviate the worries, the doubts most Americans have about his age and mental fitness.

Biden won swing voters 54-41 in 2020 as they wanted Trump gone. Today, Trump leads among these same swing voters 38-34 with the rest in the vote third party or not vote at all, stay home column. This has been the trend since last year. Trump has lost some of these swing voters, but Biden has lost the most. Meaning they deserted Biden but haven’t gone to Trump. You’re correct in the fact these swing voters still don’t want Trump. But they don’t want Biden either. The question then becomes, can Biden regain the support among these swing voters he had in 2020? Biden won the group of voters who voted against a candidate, but not for any candidate, just against a candidate 68-30 over Trump in 2020. Today, this group for the most part is against both major party candidates. We’ll have to wait and see how this plays out. I’m not confident at all Biden can regain this group.

We have an aged, criminally-indicted, sexual abuser who has shown contempt for allies, democracy, law and order, and our justice system vs an aged incumbent under whom, the economy is thriving, jobs have been created, wages have risen, the national infrastructure is finally being rebuilt, and global inflation has significantly diminished.

You can't always get what you want. Taylor Swift could probably defeat either of them.

Elections are all about perceptions. On the economy most Americans think Biden’s handling of it to be very poor or I might use the word, sucks.

And this, 38% of all Americans think Biden deserves another term - U.S. Voters: Biden, Most in House Don't Deserve Another Term

This election is between one candidate that most Americans don't want to be reelected and the other candidate most Americans don't want to regain the white house. No wonder there's no enthusiasm out there at all for this rematch. Unlike in 2020 then enthusiasm was high to be rid of Trump.

Perception can be informed by reality, which can be persistent.

If a superannuated incumbent, maintaining American values and prosperity, about whom his fellow opponent-in-decline's lackeys failed to concoct any impeachable transgressions, cannot defeat a documented liar whose dismal one term earned him the voter's boot that made him whine incessantly about a certified election that he lost, after he accrued multiple felony indictments for disparate offences, the parties' nominative system that is so unresponsive to public sentiment, will have inflicted serious harm upon the nation.

Of course, a supercharged propaganda industry can create a poisonous political atmosphere in which no potential candidate can thrive.

I agree that this years nominative system and or procedure has definitely been against the public’s sentiments. Most of the public don’t want neither of the two presumptive nominees. The difference is the GOP base wants Trump, the RNC and Republican Party leaders prefer someone else. With the Democrats, it’s the DNC and Democratic Party leaders that want Biden, but the Democratic base prefer or want someone other than Biden.

Poll: Two-thirds of Democrat-leaning voters don't want Biden as 2024 nominee

    https://www.axios.com/2023/09/07/poll-biden-2024-second-term-democrat-voters-cnn

You also have this - The enthusiasm gap shadowing Biden

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/01/08/biden-enthusiasm-gap/

which leads me to my prediction of low voter turnout with a high percentage of third-party votes. Lower than in 2016 when 54% turned out to vote compared to 2020 when 62% voter turnout using VAP. Higher third-party vote, higher than the 6.0% in 2016 vs. 1.7% in 2020.

The reality that no credible challenger to either unpopular likely nominee has emerged (or is likely to) underscores the pervasive negativity inculcated by overt hostility to American values and relentless propaganda.

I'm concerned that our democratic elections, law and order, and justice system are being savaged by a narcissistic, grievance-driven fanaticism that facilitates the rise of authoritarianism that self-interested political lackeys lack the moral fiber to oppose.

The best lack all conviction while the worst are full of passionate intensity.

I agree. What we gave us approximately 15% of all Americans choosing the two major party candidates. A bit more in contested primaries, less in uncontested primaries like we have this year. Then on average 55% of all Americans choosing the next president. This year, there’s no excitement in the primaries, very little enthusiasm for the general election. Dread is the word used most to describe the upcoming presidential election.

    https://news.yahoo.com/poll-dread-tops-list-of-americans-feelings-about-2024-election-191803206.html

The mood of the country for either of these two major party candidates is one of indifferent passiveness if that makes sense. There’s not that anti-Trump mood or enthusiasm to be rid of him like there was in 2020. That was 4 years ago, Trump isn’t president anymore, Biden is. It’s a type of forgetfulness and the unwantedness of both Trump and Biden. Trump supporters have that conviction and enthusiasm you talked about. Biden’s support is very soft. One must remember, it was the anti-Trump enthusiasm that drove folks to the polls in 2020. It wasn’t support for Biden; it was mostly anti-Trump. This year, it’s anti-both. This was shown not only in the exit polls for 2020, but in the number of folks who voted for Biden for president to get rid of Trump, then republican down ballot enabling the republicans to gain 13 house seats. Biden was seen as a transition president for most swing voters, someone to fill the office between Trump and whoever came next. Not someone to run for reelection. I think the democrats, perhaps not the base as they been wanting someone else, but the DNC and democratic party leaders have grossly misread the results of 2020 to include Biden himself.

You've described the Democratic Party to a tee.

That's what Trump's been fighting. And his supporters know full well the implications if they're not stopped in June.

Your hyper-partisan prejudice explains your perverted perspective. The internal animosity in the GOP accounts for their legislative impotence.

    Really? Legislative impotence?

OK, since you brought it up (and I suppose you think you know something about legislation) the Biden Administration is openly gunning to ban internal combustion engines by 2035. The latest proposed EPA regulations (to probably be finalized this summer- should be easy enough for you to look up with your claimed intellectual prowess) openly requires 67% of new vehicles sold be EVs by 2032.

Perhaps with your expansive legislative knowledge and experience you can tell us where that idea was ever voted on either by the American people or their rightful Congressional representatives. Remember, since it would be enacted either as a legislative amendment or new legislation, it would require 218 votes in the House and 60 votes in the Senate.

Perhaps you can demonstrate what a "non-perverted perspective" not driven by a "hyper-partisan prejudice" actually is.

He is a simple minded salesman. He sold them what they wanted to hear. (at least that segment ) He offers up SIMPLE solutions to Complex problems and his folllowing likes that. He is a bully,.......but they see a strongman type. which interpreted means a father figure that can do anything . They cannot seem to see through his massive BS.
He did NOTHING outstanding or lasting in h is last term in office and probably because the job itself is tedious to him He thrives on excitement. and is not a detail , conscientious person interested in working for the people and the country. He cares ONLY for HIS interests and rages when these are obstructed. ( a bully with a temper antrum) He LOVES being on the campagnas trail. That is where he actually gets all the adulation he so needs and desires. He LOVES working the crowd....... as it makes him feel powerful and fits his manipulative personality disorder.
Just think about his interference in getting the bill passed. Motive: ..He does not want Biden to have any credit or positive outcomes. That is not even dirty politics , it is downright irresponsible, leaving major issues unattended to. He could care less about doing what is best for the country......as he demonstrates repeatedly.

Why do his supporters support him so frantically?? They have chosen to be manipulated by him into thinking he is the best thing since can openers. There is a certain insanity to all this as some fanatics believe he is the second coming.(giving it a religious fervor ) Now THAT is frightening... Humanity can be very suggestible and easily influenced .and he knows how to play them.(The same way he is playing the legal ssytem to get the results he wants . He is gambling on winning as he thinks he can then be cleared of al l his legal problems. *all self created )
Psychologists will be analyzing his pathology for years to come. As he truly is a study in clinical behavior disorder...Psychologists will be analyzing this fanaticism / phenomena that has evolved and surrounds him.

Trump remains toxic to Middle America, and his imminent close up and personal exposure by our justice system and his hysterical denunciation of it are unlikely to endear him to many. He failed to hide evidence and intimidate witnesses, and his desperate need to delay justice is likely to meet with only partial success.

The latest NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll found that almost two-thirds of suburban voters have an unfavorable opinion of Trump and, in a head-to-head matchup, Biden leads Trump by 16 points with suburban voters.

I am very skeptical of polls showing Trump winning or even close. I very much doubt that independents are falling for his extremist vomit and terrible record.

I don’t think Trump will receive more votes than the 46.9% he received in 2020. It’s that Biden will receive less than the 51.4% he gathered up in 2020. This is due to those voters who didn’t vote in 2016 but did in 2020. In 2020 most new voters liked Biden, disliked Trump. 23 million of them. Biden won these new voters 64-32 over Trump. Today those voters dislike both. They’re stating they’re more apt to vote third party or not vote at all this year, stay home as they did in 2016 if the rematch occurs. How many will follow through with their sentiments they have today come November remains to be seen.

Trump grew the deficit more, as republicans usually do. Mostly because both like to spend but republicans cut taxes while spending.

The gullible believe his BS, even when everyone knows he lies about everything. Why did people vote for Hitler? Same thing. He claimed to be the savior who'd save them from the evils of the 'establishment', which he blamed for every ill in life.
