Irrelevant. You know why he fired Comey. And you know that what you said is not the actual reason.

Yes. He fired Comey because he was horrible at his job.

When someone is bad at a job, they get fired.

If this is news to you, then I believe you should sue your institution of which you were educated.

I don't recall any of the 44 Presidents preceding this present one saying how much they'd like to be President for Life either. Trump is a singularly humorless individual and I don't recall that he was even smiling when he said it, If we're now supposed to ruin minor functionaries for offhand remarks about guillotines I think we should at least pay attention when the man in question implies that one of the main characteristics of his own office should be "overthrown" in favor of one that nearly defines modern dictators.

I do agree that he will leave peacefully. As soon as Fox news reminds him that he can go back to having a private life where he can diddle whores at will and denegrate anyone making under 100 million a year, he will sprint for the door. Heck, that might work tomorrow....

republicans could care less if Trump is replaced by a republican, in fact I think over half would prefer it

the reality is, there is more democrats in America then Republicans, Democrats sadly just are less likely to get out and vote, Trump is changing that, 2018 and 2020 will be good years for Dems

if democrats do not get out and vote.. they have no one to blame but themselves

With the deep state out to get him, if Trump ever really did something they could get him on, they would have done so a month into his Presidency. But, to TC's question, of course Trump would leave the White House if he lost. Otherwise he risks ANTIFA and Maxine Waters murdering him.

For the record, I am neither a MAGA type nor a Trump hater. (So many fall into one camp or the other; but I am truly neither. I am more of an "establishment" Republican--a term that has recently become an epithet of sorts.)

But I will have to say that Donald Trump has gone further than I would go in the pursuit of peace. (His almost obsequious behavior, as regarding both Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-un, are testaments to this.)

So I really cannot imagine that he might instigate WW3--as his most severe critics would have us believe.

    Well.

We still have never seen his reaction to LOSING an election.

I picture Trump losing key swing states by small margins (much like he won them on 2016), and then with the help of the Fox/Breitbart Fever Swamp fomenting a conspiracy about "illegal voters"/rigged"/Etc.

He will totally thumb his nose at the concept of a "peaceful transition of power", and do something stupid before January 20th (like start a war).

WHEN Trump loses, we will get a chance to see who is right.

In any event, we won't know until Nov. 2020.

If the left runs Cherokee Warren, Trump will own the swing states. She's so far left, and such an extremist, that areas Hillary lost will see far worse damage than in '16.

Still hoping the left runs her.

Doubtful. It just would have taken longer to get to the Mueller investigation.

Of course he will. He won't be happy or gracious (and he'll certainly be noisy), but he'll leave peacefully and the admin will transition just like normal.

I honestly thing the man (Comey) that took down Hillery with his nonsense and helped Trump win, would of acted tough on Trump and then gave him a pass

the problem was Trump thought Comey acting tough was a threat to him, so he panicked, but Comey could not come right out and say, I am gonna make it look good then let you off

in other words Comey did such a good job of acting tough, Trump fell for it too

Interesting take, but I can't buy it. Comey was a pro out in a bad situation because of the partisan divide. He was not part of it. Though I definitely think comes scope may have been smaller than Mueller's ultimately. So Trump may have done the concept of "truth" a favor by for Comey to obstruct justice.

oh I think he definitely did "truth" a favor by firing Comey.... now we have a real investigation

of course we all know we will get to the truth, but nothing will really happen to Trump even if he is guilty.... and Trump will pardon his family before he leaves office for any crimes they did as well

We've seen Hillary lose a couple, though.
The most recent one, she was so drunk, she didn't surface until the next day.
Tell us how your predictions for the 2016 election turned out.

You are certainly correct in your final sentence, above: "[W]e won't know until Nov. 2020." (Actually, it will be late January 2021 before we can be certain. But I understand your point.)

To describe it as a certainty that Donald Trump will lose in 2020 seems a bit more like the words of a mere cheerleader than the words of a serious analyst. After all, we do not even know yet just who the Democrats will be running then. (If it is either Cory Booker or Elizabeth Warren, the Democrats will probably sweep--or almost sweep--the East Coast, the West Coast, and Illinois--but win little else. And that did not work well for them in 2016.)

Suburban moms could conceivably be the key: As a whole, they do not especially care for Donald Trump--largely, I believe, because of his bellicose personality.

But if he campaigns as hard for himself in 2020 as he is currently campaigning for GOP senate candidates--and I have no reason to believe that he will not--he will probably turn out his base in very large numbers.

Even so, I would decline to make a solid prediction, more than two years in advance.

There is NO chance Trump loses in 2020 with the economy we have in place. Once the blue wave fizzles and we get a border wall, an new AG that will investigate Crooked Hillary, the Democrats and their communist bullshit will implode.

Liberalism is about to be set back 30 years by our Great President Donald Trump!

I won't try to guess if Trump can win again. I certainly hope he does not. Of course that idiot Clinton refuses to shut up and go away, so she may well end up helping Trump to win again. Such is the degree of her incompetence and ego.

Sure, Trump may raise a stink but he will have no choice in leaving office if he loses the 2020 election. Not to leave would see him removed by force. Not a civil war either, simply the normal forces under the law would drag him out kicking and screaming if need be.

I don't know why this gets brought up with each election. It is not the ex-president's choice. A new guy shows up with secret service and puts new linen on the bed. Are you expecting Trump to sleep in the front yard in a tent? Please describe a scenario where he won't leave when the Commander in Chief is in charge.

    "Distinct possibility?" My ***.
