We have been explaining that to you as to the deal with China. Milley acted like he was president. And acted as if Trump might attack China. That was irrational.

I have not read even one General officer that sides with Milley on that issue.

When you spin a tale, I urge you to support your own claims.
That reads like Bob Woodward lied to us.

Read the book...when it's released. Milley told his counterpart the opposite. That despite the optics, everything was under control. There would be no illegal attack on China.

The 2x impeached loser incumbent wasn't a democrat while in office. He was at one time, but he knew he couldn't trick Dems into voting for him, so he ran as a republican.

Excerpts are out and being reported. The official release is, I believe, next week. But, maybe you could have figured that out yourself, no?

You realize that has nothing to do with this issue right?

I already knew that but you implied you know what the book said so I was wondering if you were the author. Your truths are all over the place in this thread. You told us the Military couldn't have a surprise attack planned because it was against the law per the constitution. Still didn't show that article in the constitution. You told us Trump couldn't execute a surprise attack on China because only congress can authorize war, this is true. So tell us based on your thoughts why would Milley and Pelosi think Trump might shoot nukes at China? According to you there could be no plan where to shoot them. Why would Milley tell others if Trump orders nukes fired to go through him, is he going to defy congressional authorization as well? Why would Milley think to call China and tell them he would warn them of an attack? Per your posts that would mean he defied congressional authorization and a Presidential order and was willing to allow an enemy to know of an attack, which would be treason. How do you square your defense of him based on what you've said, that I listed above?

That should have made it easier to remove Trump from office. Why didn't they given their concerns about his mental health?

I hope to hear it in Milley's recording. But no one owed China an explanation.

They LIVE, EAT and BREATHE in a world ifs, maybes, and might haves....I've heard that if you have a tune "stuck" in your head singing along with it makes it go away, but I doubt that would work when one has Trump rattling around in their head like a marble in a drier.:)

An oath superseding the oath they took joining the military. They swore to agree to cutting the Commander in Chief out of the constitutional one.
We have a bleep ton of military officers who need to be sent packing for agreeing to such an outlandish demand. Suppose an officer said “No”. Then what? Does he arrest you for disloyalty? How far will that fog hunt?
“Dr. Strangelove, clean up on aisle five!”

It’s from direct quotes included in Woodward’s book.

    What is a "fair investigation?"

AFAIK, as long as a judge signs off, everything about an investigation is "fair."

So, 1,000 people charged at the Capitol and this is supposed to have people think a 'coup' is happening, and that China's going to be nuked. Again, all it showed me is that these overreactions meant that I don't want people like Milley among our top generals. I don't want people at the head of the CIA prone to hysterics.

If this is "America's best" then we're doomed.

"HE’S INCOMPETENT AND TREASONOUS}. Howie Carr: Gen. Milley is now the Democrats’ latest crush.
"It’s called Trump Derangement Syndrome for a reason." We need to vote out the deranged and then the non-deranged representatives need to fire the deranged that occupy appointed positions.

If it makes you feel better, I'm sure he wasn't the only one who had something like that cross their mind... including China apparently...

People were speculating about President Psycho and back in 2017...

Yes, of course. I am the author. I'm trying to get some advance reviews based on the media leaks I gave out. The Congressional power to declare war is in Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution, as I previously posted. The Chinese worried probably because of what they were watching on U.S. and global media, who covered the election and the aftermath. Pelosi because she considers Trump to be insane - i.e. mentally unstable and capable of doing anything. Milley, apparently not so much or at least believes that even if the president is insane, there are enough checks and balances to prevent him from starting a nuclear war. For Congress to approve of a first strike, they would first have to repeal the War Powers Act they passed in the seventies and agree to break existing treaty commitments (e.g. the U.N. Charter). Milley didn't say he had to approve of such attacks; he said he wanted to be informed of such orders as part of his role in the decision-making process - i.e. his membership on the NSC and as chief advisor the the President on military matters. And, no, Milley does not have to follow illegal orders from the President. His allegiance is to the Constitution, not the President. I suppose Congress could approve of an unprovoked attack on a foreign country and ignore treaty commitments...but the chances of them doing so are remote. Milley would then presumably resign in protest.

But Milley's meeting and calls were to reassure China, Pelosi, et al that despite the Trump refusal to accept the election results or role in the January 6th Capitol riot, we were still a nation under law, not Trump. And, he was right...Trump left the WH and by his physical actions, if not his words, accepted election defeat. It's indeterminate who initiated the call with his Chinese counterpart. It's possible that our intelligence conveyed China's worries to Milley or that the call was initiated by the Chinese.

I have no idea...but they'll probably be asked in congressional hearings.
