Humanism isn't based on Christianity. The Christian scriptures are full of anti-humanist notions that they ascribe to God: laws against blasphemy, laws against religions freedom, death to homosexuals, slavery, eternal damnation, etc. Yes, there are some very good (though contradictory) scriptures that borrow from humanist notions of agape. A Christian in a humanist society can still retail the values and the love that emanates around him, after all.

The bible from cover to cover calls lots of things sinful. Homosexuality being one of them. There are lots of things that are just as bad or even worse. Homosexuality however has a certain repugnance to it for a lot of people so many christians are a bit hypocritical in singling it out.
What people do with eachother in bed is none of anyone elses business. That is until they start passing laws that make it our business. Such as making people a minority just because they want to based on choices in behavior.

That would be people of all kinds of faiths doing their jobs according to the law.
And the horrible Democrats who are practicing atheists regardless of what they confess will not allow legislation to pass to remedy the situation. Their solution is to open the borders and do nothing about illegal immigration.

I think it’s kind of ironic in the right wing “Christian” war on gay people, the religion itself has become less about god, Jesus, worship or any of the other ten thousand things the Bible has represented and more about one or two out of context passages against being gay.

That’s what blind hate does, it destroys the very foundation of character. Personally, I believe that’s why we see such decline and corruption surrounding religion in the west as they have moved from standing for something to being just anti-something.

Every time Christians are even mentioned here gay people are slandered within 2 pages of the utterance of the word. If that’s your religion, it’s kind of pathetic and deserves to die out.

But up till recently homosexuals did not flaunt themselves or try to pressure Christians to change their beliefs

 

They are not a legitimate minority. Being gay is a choice and choice doesn't make you a minority. If it were everyone would be a minority.
Furthermore the purpose of making gays a minority has nothing to do with minority status but to force laws that violate religious peoples first ammendment rights.

We know that religious beliefs are personal, so we don’t allow advertisers to target users on the basis of religion. Beyond that, we don’t have policies against advertising that includes religious terms like “Christian”
