Would you say that most pro-lifers are bitter male Republican woman-haters who want to punish them for making a mistake? EDIT: The same Republicans who hate people of other races etc., i.e. people who differ from them in superficial ways?
Nah. They're just people with a very strong conviction that I don't personally share. I don't oppose them because of that, but I do oppose the methods they embrace.
Based on what I've seen, it's more likely to be "you are a slut and need to be punished for your sins" than anything else, even when it's women that oppose abortion. What methods are you referring to?
This is what liberals think of having children... Punishment. I think the pro-life movement is diverse. I think for every republican that "hates" people of other races, there is a democrat that "hates" people of other races. Republicans don't own "hatred". "Hatred" is evenly distributed among the populas.
Thier position is not complicated, it isn't exclusive to males, and certainly isn't directed at any race. It is simply that they believe life begins at conception. Think about how you might feel about some historical slave owners killing slaves whenever they feel like because to them slaves aren't people, they're property. They could slogan about "a master's right to choose". That's how most pro-lifers feel about people who perform or go to get an abortion.
I disagree. It's "life begins at conception" based on what I've seen. I don't happen to agree, but that's the impression. I'm at odds with most of the tactics they use to promote their cause, but my main gripe is their insistence on Federal bans, which would violate the Constitution. I'm a big fan of the Constitution.
No. They just believe life begins at conception. I don't personally hold these beliefs, as I believe it will cause more problems to try to prevent it, but I understand why people are pro-life.
Your "simple" question (and EDIT) begs another simple question (and EDIT) - do you normally ask idiotic questions or was this one special??? [Edit: Knock, knock... anyone home???
Nice. Respond to the flamebait and ignore everything else. Anyway, while normally I'm not even trying to get people to change their minds on their board, I'm hoping this poll has cleared things up for you. Notice that only one person has voted "yes" and that was you. More importantly, the "no" votes aren't just coming from the pro-life side. There are plenty of pro-choicers who are simply aware of what the other side's position is, even if they don't agree with it.
Pro Life, the view to carry a child to full term is a rational view. So is the abortion view to give women "not men, they dont seem to have a voice" to stop their pregnancy. But in this crazy world, the two views can't coexist, there is no current middle ground.
You aren't even close. It's the racists liberals who want to kill as many black babies beofre birth as possible. Liberals are so sick that they can actually call abortion reporductive freedom with a straight face. It's obviously the antithesis of reproductive. The liberals are also to ones who are consistently willing to trade away a shot at a decent education for poor people to curry favor with the unions. Liberals don't really think blacks can be educated anyway. It's the liberals who want as many minorities as possible on welfare to keep them from competing for jobs and to keep them under the control of their liberal overseerers.
I think part of the reason that pro-life is so important to pro-lifers, is that science is getting to the point where it can start doing some really questionable things: playing with stem cells, cloning, potentially engineering fetuses . . . I think a lot of them are justifiably afraid of the consequences of devaluing human life to the point that we see zygotes not as potential people, but laboratory and genetic "resources." I do see where you're coming from though, that some people (usually Christian), will tell a young woman that she has to accept the "consequences" of her actions. Else, why all the hullaballo over the HPV vaccine? It prevents disease, so it makes sense to distribute it, but some people seem opposed because they don't want to "encourage" their daughters to have sex. They want irresponsible behavior to have "consequences." (I still voted no though, because I don't think that "consequences" is the main reason for most pro-lifers.)
So since abortion rates are three times higher for minorities does that mean that pro-abortion folks hate minority children and their communities?
Actually, Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood was a racist. She believed in the power of birth control to limit or eliminate the "blacks." http://liveaction.org/blog/racist-planned-parenthood-founder-margaret-sanger-was-not-so-pro-choice/
And there's nothing innately wrong with any of those things. My sperm is half of a potential person, by your logic? Well I wouldn't want my daughter to be a slut if I had one, to be perfectly honest. Live under my roof follow my rules
Yeah so why don't you support abortions then? Basically, Republicans care about people until they're born. That's the moral of the story
Do you need a bigger brush? Looks like you are running out of paint. Come on not all republicans are allike just like not all democrats are the same.
I am a centrist but I have some leftist and some rightist inclinations. Basically, in this case, I have the rightist mentality of trying to simplify views that I detest into groups of people whom I call my enemies. But I'd have to say it works pretty well. Just eliminate the people I hate and ship 'em far away and I'll be happy.
Why is it that liberals who, by the very definition are supposed to be tolerant of everything, hate Republicans? Republicans don't hate them. We think they're stupid, but we don't hate them.
