Koran says some pretty terrible things about non-Muslims: Ye are the best of peoples, evolved for mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and believing in Allah. If only the People of the Book [Christians and Jews] had faith, it were best for them: among them are some who have faith, but most of them are perverted transgressors. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. And those with him are severe against the disbelievers and merciful among themselves… Those who disbelieve from among the People of the Book and among the Polytheists, will be in Hell-Fire, to dwell therein (for aye). They are the worst of creatures. Surely the vilest of animals in Allah's sight are those who disbelieve, then they would not believe (As for) those who disbelieve, surely neither their wealth nor their children shall avail them in the least against Allah, and these it is who are the fuel of the fire (3:10 Shakir: "firewood of hell") But as for those who disbelieve, garments of fire will be cut out for them; boiling fluid will be poured down on their heads, Whereby that which is in their bellies, and their skins too, will be melted; And for them are hooked rods of iron Whenever, in their anguish, they would go forth from thence they are driven back therein and (it is said unto them): Taste the doom of burning O ye who believe! Fight those of the disbelievers who are near to you, and let them find harshness in you, and know that Allah is with those who keep their duty. As for the Disbelievers, Whether thou warn them or thou warn them not it is all one for them; they believe not. Allah hath sealed their hearing and their hearts, and on their eyes there is a covering. Theirs will be an awful doom Strive hard (Jihad) against the Unbelievers and the Hypocrites, and be firm against them. Their abode is Hell,- an evil refuge indeed. (66:9, See also 9:73, and 9:123 - "Fight those of the disbelievers who are near to you, and let them find harshness in you") And surely, We have created many of the jinns and mankind for Hell. They have hearts wherewith they understand not, they have eyes wherewith they see not, and they have ears wherewith they hear not (the truth). They are like cattle, nay even more astray; those! They are the heedless ones. Those who believe, fight in the Cause of Allah, and those who disbelieve, fight in the cause of Taghut (Satan, etc.). So fight you against the friends of Shaitan (Satan); Ever feeble indeed is the plot of Shaitan (Satan). https://www.thereligionofpeace.com/pages/articles/quran-hate.aspx it now kind of occurs to me that for a Muslim to respect non-Muslims, he must reject the Koran or follow Immams that have a pretty Liberal and loving interpretation of the Koran, that ignores its many passages that express pure animosity and hate towards non-Muslims. its quite a predicament
Yes, it says Christ died for their salvation on the Cross, and that there is neither Jew nor Greek, but all are one in Christ. Even in the Old Testament, Jonah was sent to call a gentile nation to repentance. The Great Commission by definition is aimed at gentiles. Allah has no love for 'infidels'. You can't co-exist with a religion like Islam that doesn't see it's non-members as equals. https://bible.knowing-jesus.com/topics/Gentiles
Every religion must be against every other religion inherently. Islam is simply a bit behind the times (by a few centuries) and still uses violence as the primary means of conversion.
Or you could say every world view, including yours, must be against all others. Jihadists simply follow the word and deed of their Founder, Jesus harmed nobody. Force and violence are inherent to Islam.
You think you are right and other views are wrong, just like other world views/religions. I have no problem with that, as long as they aren't setting off suicide bombs.
Islam needs a reformation before it illicits another crusade. The 'infidels' can only tolerate so much before they lose their civility and go on a warpath. For clarity, I'm not advocating a war against fundamentalist Islam that acts upon the sentiments portrayed in your OP, I'm simply stating that a violent reaction to its violence is inevitable. People will eventually lose their minds over it. Many (perhaps most) Muslims do not strictly follow the violence against infidels that their doctrine demands. They understand that true peace is only a result of non-violence. But they do not actively resist the fundamentalist orthodoxy of their religious establishment. Here's to hoping they start, and soon.
How do you reform what is supposedly strait from God? The Christian Reformation brought Christianity back to it's roots, the roots of Islam are just as bloody as today.
Importing large numbers of Muslims in the name of 'diversity' is a grave mistake. When they become the majority, they demand you assimilate to THEM.
Good question. And one better suited for those of the Islamic faith. I'm as certain that a reformation cannot successfully originate outside of Islam as I am that Islam will find itself the target of a campaign of annihilation without such a reformation.
The terrorist twins always complain about minority rights, but when Islam is the majority, there are no minority rights.
3:110 This is ordinary. It isn't good to cuts verses on scripture, but this too has nothing difficult to deal with. What is translated here as severe is more often translated as firm or unyealding. It doesn't mean to be cruel or or at war with the disbelievers. There are other verses that encourage kindness also to the disbelievers. It means the Muslims won't let the disbelievers influence them and lead them away from Allah. I don't see a problem with these. If you're not a Muslim you don't believe in them. Nevertheless it's a warning. Would it be disrespectful of me to tell you if you light yourself on fire you're probably going to die a terrifying and painful death? No. It's just facts. This is about war. warning.
That's a confusing statement. Believers of what? Muslims certainly don't recognize Christians and Jews as believers of Allah. Islam has so many contradictions, and it's purposely designed that way. It leaves plenty of wiggle room for interpretation to deliberately confuse the naïve and weak minded.
I'm a Christian and I certainly don't believe in Allah. I believe in the Creator, the God of Abraham. The Lord Jesus Christ. He's my God.
Isn't that a standard view of anyone who is not of one's own faith? Do American Christians see devout nonradical Muslims as headed for heaven?
