It is pretty interesting. Things like this is why I support the nurture over nature side of the argument more when talking about people's behaviors. So here we have the same race of people, yet the behavior is different from one place to another.

You proved a point using 3 very posh neighborhoods and a middle-class neighborhood. Poor whites in the city are just as confined and there are probably more of them Why are the crime rates so unbalanced when you look at a group of people with the same income, in the same population.

Just as Polish immigrants were oppressed for ZERO years, such is the case for Asians since the 1970s.

The crime rates are unbalanced because of the way crime and justice are enforced in this country. If different groups commit the same crimes at the same rates, yet one group or certain groups are singled out for enforcement, we will see skewed results. Another reason is that certain laws are meant to target certain demographics when if those same laws would have been applied to other demographics, they would have been removed a long time ago (e.g. alcohol prohibition vs prohibition 2.0). In other words, we have double standards, selective targeting, and environments designed to make criminals out of certain demographics. This is why we see imbalances.

They were driven out of entire neighborhoods as crime levels increased. Businesses closed, Restaurants, Stores. Last 40 or so years its been happening.

They aren't. It would stand to reason that educated groups of people are less likey to get caught.

You realize this is the definition of racism, right?

So are you implying that the day in and day out crimes committed against blacks during the Jim Crow era and when there was slavery means that whites have a smaller frontal lobe than blacks?

We disagree that they aren't. Let me know what type of evidence that you would find enough to prove otherwise and I'll see about bringing it in here. As for the latter part, that makes sense, but that just goes to show we can't use crime stats to effectively measure crime and if we do it should be supplemented with more information.

I can't prove a negative. You can only prove what is.There is more evidence to support my claim then yours. Police are in larger numbers where the black men are arrested. Large numbers of police will increase interaction. The police are there because of Violent Public Crime. Those crimes are not present at the same rates in white communities. Leading to less interaction with the populace. Who causes violent crime? Gangs. Who is most likely to join a gang? Someone who has not graduated High School.

The police are in larger numbers where black men are arrested because black citizens are a targeted group in the first place. When a demographic is targeted, the likelihood that they'll be arrested increases while attention is taken away from other groups.

Also, regarding gangs and gang violence, out of the top 10 most dangerous gangs, Latinos have 5 of them, Whites have 2, Blacks have 2, and mixed race have 1. If, for example, we were to go by gangs, police presence should not be more focused on Black gangs than White or Latino gangs.

Regarding "Violent Public Crime" this makes no sense. If this was something significant, stop and frisk would have yielded better results than it did. Stop and frisk in NY actually found that Whites were more likely than Black and Hispanics to be found with firearms and contrabands. Lastly, there are a whole slew of reports explaining how black citizens are treated to deeper searches and are more harrassed than other groups. This is all to justify mistreatment of the black group.

Why are they are target group? Who is doing drive by's in the streets, on the corner? Who is creating the collateral damage on their communities? Stop and Frisk is lazy police work and I do not agree with it but the problem was there before stop and frisk.

Black citizens are a targeted group because of the lack recourse and resources to do anything about mistreatment.

The people doing all the harm in the black community are nihilistic violent criminals who are never taken out of circulation. Also, prohibition laws feed these gangs, yet unlike the first prohibition, these laws are never under review to end it.

They are the target group because they aren't staying in school. Making it harder for them to get jobs. Which leads them falling into the violent culture of their peers, because it's the only way to make money. Which leads to a police presence, which leads to more arrests, criminal records, and more people who cant get jobs.

A end to prohibition would go a long way. If many aren't staying in school, that should be ok as not everyone is built for school. People should still be able to make money doing something else. Ending prohibition would free up a whole lot of money that could be used on economic development instead of reinvested into black-market enterprises. It would also quell violence like the end of the first prohibition did.

I agree its part of the problem it wont end it tough. They won't end it. All drugs? People aren't out there shooting each other because a weed sale goes south.

Its not OK for people to not get an education, its lazy. Maybe they are even enticed by the things the violence can get you, when you are 15 you want money. It's part of the culture. You cannot survive in the modern world with out a HS diploma at the least, and its free. Every one knows this, the people in the community know this. People outside the community tell them something else, its the man keeping you down or whatever. The ones who don't know or don't want to admit what the real problem is believe it. All their lives they are told they don't have a chance out there. Why would you want to graduate HS if the man isn't going to let you be successful if you do? Why bother? I'll just go sell drugs and defend my turf. The ones who don't believe it graduate HS get jobs and stay out of trouble.

It is important to note in this topic, the FBI has cautioned against "Ranking" as far as crime statistics, a common practice in Law Enforcement and amongst Civilians and promotes false statistics and images of the causes of Crime.

    *******************************
    FBI Caution Against Ranking

    Variables Affecting Crime

Each year when Crime in the United States is published, many entities—news media, tourism agencies, and other groups with an interest in crime in our Nation—use reported figures to compile rankings of cities and counties.

These rankings, however, are merely a quick choice made by the data user; they provide no insight into the many variables that mold the crime in a particular town, city, county, state, region, or other jurisdiction.

Consequently, these rankings lead to simplistic and/or incomplete analyses that often create misleading perceptions adversely affecting cities and counties, along with their residents.

Consider other characteristics of a jurisdiction

To assess criminality and law enforcement’s response from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, one must consider many variables, some of which, while having significant impact on crime, are not readily measurable or applicable pervasively among all locales.

Geographic and demographic factors specific to each jurisdiction must be considered and applied if one is going to make an accurate and complete assessment of crime in that jurisdiction.

Several sources of information are available that may assist the responsible researcher in exploring the many variables that affect crime in a particular locale.

The U.S. Census Bureau data, for example, can be used to better understand the makeup of a locale’s population. The transience of the population, its racial and ethnic makeup, its composition by age and gender, educational levels, and prevalent family structures are all key factors in assessing and comprehending the crime issue.

Local chambers of commerce, government agencies, planning offices, or similar entities provide information regarding the economic and cultural makeup of cities and counties. Understanding a jurisdiction’s industrial/economic base; its dependence upon neighboring jurisdictions; its transportation system; its economic dependence on nonresidents (such as tourists and convention attendees); its proximity to military installations, correctional facilities, etc., all contribute to accurately gauging and interpreting the crime known to and reported by law enforcement.

The strength (personnel and other resources) and the aggressiveness of a jurisdiction’s law enforcement agency are also key factors in understanding the nature and extent of crime occurring in that area.

Although information pertaining to the number of sworn and civilian employees can be found in this publication, it cannot be used alone as an assessment of the emphasis that a community places on enforcing the law.

For example, one city may report more crime than a comparable one, not because there is more crime, but rather because its law enforcement agency, through proactive efforts, identifies more offenses.

Attitudes of the citizens toward crime and their crime reporting practices, especially concerning minor offenses, also have an impact on the volume of crimes known to police.

    Make valid assessments of crime

It is incumbent upon all data users to become as well educated as possible about how to understand and quantify the nature and extent of crime in the United States and in any of the more than 18,000 jurisdictions represented by law enforcement contributors to the Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program. Valid assessments are possible only with careful study and analysis of the various unique conditions affecting each local law enforcement jurisdiction.

Historically, the causes and origins of crime have been the subjects of investigation by many disciplines. Some factors that are known to affect the volume and type of crime occurring from place to place are:

Population density and degree of urbanization.

Variations in composition of the population, particularly youth concentration.

Stability of the population with respect to residents’ mobility, commuting patterns, and transient factors.

Modes of transportation and highway system.

Economic conditions, including median income, poverty level, and job availability.

Cultural factors and educational, recreational, and religious characteristics.

Family conditions with respect to divorce and family cohesiveness.

    Climate.

Effective strength of law enforcement agencies.

Administrative and investigative emphases of law enforcement.

Policies of other components of the criminal justice system (i.e., prosecutorial, judicial, correctional, and probational).

    Citizens’ attitudes toward crime.

Crime reporting practices of the citizenry.

Crime in the United States provides a nationwide view of crime based on statistics contributed by local, state, tribal, and federal law enforcement agencies. Population size and student enrollment are the only correlates of crime presented in this publication.

Although many of the listed factors equally affect the crime of a particular area, the UCR Program makes no attempt to relate them to the data presented.

The data user is, therefore, cautioned against comparing statistical data of individual reporting units from cities, counties, metropolitan areas, states, or colleges or universities solely on the basis of their population coverage or student enrollment.

Until data users examine all the variables that affect crime in a town, city, county, state, region, or other jurisdiction, they can make no meaningful comparisons."

Do not just rely on statistics, talk to people in Corrections, to Law Enforcement, visit some prisons, do not simply rely on Agenda driven studies and statistics that do not accurately report or represent Crime factors, the FBI has shed much light on these topics.

I think it's because Western Europeans fit these characteristics below, which is why they behaved so poorly yesterday, and are anti-racist today.

Blacks have more of the super warrior gene, or very low MAO-A levels which is linked to criminality.

Those with the gene are much more likely to become criminals if they are neglected.

But, low MAO-A can cause mood swings which may impact their ability to learn, or work.

Maybe you should call the Wahmbulance. My grandparents immigrated from Italy and Ireland.

The discrimination isn't even close on par.

Sure, in the U.S.A South Blacks received more discrimination, that isn't really true in the U.S.A North.

I am aware that nothing comes remotely close to the oppression that blacks experienced and experience to this day. And you have to be pretty racist and stupid to not know that.
