There is no comparison between that short lived non-institutionalized prejudice and the oppression of blacks. My Nana could have peed in the inside, clean toilets in the Deep South. And she could (and did) buy a house in the suburbs of Detroit in the early 1970s, where NOBODY sold to black Americans, even if they had much more money to buy.

 

If no one was selling to them they would not have been able to move to areas that had higher white populations in the 60s and 70s. The demographics of entire neighborhoods and cities have changed in the last 50 years.

In 1990. It was still less than 2 percent black, and in 2010 it's still less than 5 percent black. Royal Oak isn't even remotely unique.

 

I have many, many more cities I can name where the demographics have fliped since the 1950s. You are talking about a small part of one city. There are more white people. It's stands to reason they would be the majority in most places

Do you mean during the great migration out of the south, when we were in the midst of the worst tyranny of the Jim Crow era?

Are you talking about those 1950s, when the black homicide rate was much higher than it is today?

As for race and crime in Philadelphia, most murders in the city were Intraracial, black-on-black crimes. Of Black murder victims, 95% were killed by other Blacks.

However, the report pointed to a major, noteworthy Exception: “Caucasians and Asian Americans, on the other hand, were both more likely to be Murdered by an individual of another Race.”

Though even Brooklyn is being gentrified.

Between the years of 1882 - 1968 about 3,400 Blacks were lynched in the U.S.A.

That's a 86 year period.

Meanwhile in recent years 12,000 - 20,000 people have been murdered in a single year, about half of those are Blacks murdered by Blacks.

In a single year there are more Blacks killed by other Blacks in the U.S.A, than the 86 year period of Blacks killed by lynching by Whites.

So, you tell me what's going on there?

And there were fewer people who died on 9-11.

Except the terrorists in the Jim Crow era were the ones controlling every police department, every courthouse, and every dark corner where a white person might be.

 

Comparing 86 years to a matter of minutes in 9/11 is truly ridiculous.

Especially considering in many cases these Blacks were probably actually criminals who were lynched.

One white man was convicted of first degree murder from the 1860s to 1960s.

So just one white man murdered black man in nearly 100 years. Those lynchings were not murders.

If New York City were all white, the Murder rate would Drop by 91%, the robbery rate by 81%, and the shootings rate by 97%.

In an all-white Chicago, Murder would Decline 90%, rape by 81%, and robbery by 90%.
