You mean on a political forums system? Now were I to offer you personal attacks then you would have a point; but there were no personal attacks. I was arguing the position and plus pointing out the consequences and where the notion for the original perspective came from . . . it came from political correctness from leftist political correctness.

 

These criminal thugs seem to be very fragile. If a knee on the neck can snuff them out a shot to the leg surely will. Just the sound of the gun going off may give them a heart attack.

That "shock wave" when a bullet hits a torso or abdomen is what(hopefully) incapacitates instantly. You don't get that when you shoot a limb.

The purpose of shooting a purpose is to incapacitate them instantly. Shooting a person in the limb is more likely to piss them off than incapacitate them.

 

It's just like when tazers were embraced by the political Left as the end all and be all of safe take down techniques . . . and then some thugs died from the process and immediately they enacted criminal murder charges against police officer who's crime consisted of trying to apply leftist political correctness on the job during life and death struggles.

 

Just from my training, - you rarely pull your firearm (even at a "low ready position") unless you intend to place a fatal shot... "Full ready position" of one's firearm (hope you are 'loaded for bear')...

Everytime a shooter fires a weapon at a living target the shooter Must assume the target will die. Otherwise the shooting is not justified. This goes for all firearm owners, not just the cops.

My dear sir, (@Pants) to have a cogent dialogue there needs to be a fundamental understanding of the facts involved... Police are NEVER allowed to shoot a fleeing "suspect" unless other lives would be somehow extricated in the perpetrators abscondence / egress.

- The verbiage you have chosen in further perplexing.. "Assailants" are usually coming at one <-- as in closing in... (LE ostensibly) Obviously there is a difference between "Assailant" & "Fugitive" / "fleeing assailant" .... Right?

In order to effectively obtain a shot to a leg a shotgun is needed. But that has a tendency to blow the leg off.
