I'll concede to your expertise on the matter.

Great movie, but it's still a movie. My wife hates it whenever I yell "bullshit!" at a movie showing a Hollywood AKA unrealistic scene about flying or the military.

 

IMDB gives it a 5.3. Not even worth ordering on Netflix.

True, but here's the bottom line: When they do that crap, they lose money. The movie is poorly rated and the shitstorm they just caused will only hurt them.

Again, all they had to do was show a glimpse of Armstrong planting the flag and then pan to the plaque on the leg of the LEM. Instead, they set themselves up for a shitstorm. To be clear, as the link below attests, the flag is shown several times in the movie, but in the background. There is no scene showing Armstrong planting it on the Moon.
