You know better than that. Forrest management, clearing, controlled burns are a necessity and CA tree huggers have put an end to a lot of that. That said, wildfires have been burning in the North American continent for centuries and the climate of Finland or Canada and Colorado have little to do with it. Fire needs fuel and plenty she has. Nature just did what man could not.
CA fires are especially devastating because of the ever growing population and wind patterns which also have been around for centuries..
Can't wait for the leftie whining over the "man made" upcoming mudslides which will inevitability follow these fires.

The leaves tend not to be a big problem. They create a lot of smoke with a small fire. Usually relatively easy to put out. It is the dried up wood and brush which burns so furiously.

just like a camp fire, it takes the quick burning stuff to get it going, then the rest goes much easier

many of these places are rich peoples homes, yards fairly well kept, it's just so hot at that point, anything burns
