Yeah, there is more to the story here if he would plan this ahead of time and put it up on YouTube. As to the OP, faith in God does not impact someone's day to day functioning in any negative way, it's actually quite the opposite and so I always find it strange when liberals get someone's attention and then marvel over how religious people are able to function.

 

I'm not sure if you realize this or not, probably you do, the son would need to be the one to charge the parents. I know gays and liberals don't have much in the way of values but going to the police to press charges against those who supported you over something like this would be pretty abhorrent.

I'm presuming that if he's their son then they've supported him. I doubt he will go through with pressing charges or that anything significant would happen if he did. It would only worsen the divide within that family, something that doesn't seem to concern you when the prospect of hurting Christians arises. The overwhelming prevalence of that kind of attitude among gays is what validates religious proscriptions against homosexuality...

 

I say there's a possibility of it, but no one will ever know as long as the gay mafia has its way. Gay is normal, no matter what events or biological anomalies led to it.

 

You guys are hilarious. You call us the "Gay Mafia", then say we're only 3% of the population. You don't seem to get the fact that we have a lot of support- over half the population. You've become a minority, and you don't get to hurt us anymore. That makes you very angry. If there's a "Gay Mafia", it's most of the country.

 

If your family members abuse you, they deserve to have charges brought against them. "Worsen the divide in that family"? I'd say physical violence pretty much would end any relationship I would have with such people.

Is it real or fake? I can't say. Apparently it was posted by a "Regina Ryan". I don't see any comment from her that would provide more context or facts about the video's provenance.

Do I think it could be real? Absolutely. I still remember the "fire and brimstone" speech I got from my mother when she confronted me about my orientation (I didn't come out on my own, I was pushed out). The raw emotion sounds real. The accents don't sound fake to me, nor to be a caricature. Doesn't sound like a southern accent, though. Could just as easily be rural Michigan/Indiana/Ohio.

Do I think it could be faked? I can't dismiss the possibility. Kinda funny though, watching the ideologues line up to proclaim that there's no way it could be real. Deny, deny, deny - anything to maintain a disbelief concerning the reality that some gay people have faced.

 

It's amazing. There are so many sad stories like this one. 40% of homeless youth are LGBT who were rejected by their families and turned out on the street.

There is no 'marriage for those engaging in homosexual sex'- matter of fact there is not a marriage law in America that defines marriage in regards to sex- homosexual or straight.

 

And I'm so over the "gays" vs. "Christians" nonsense. Some gay people believe that Jesus was the Christ, and consider themselves Christians. My own Christian family (my mother included) have been on their own journey in coming to terms with my difference in orientation. I'm learning that they're actually a lot more protective and supportive than I previously knew or ever imagined they could be.

People say a lot of crap in the heat of the moment. Sometimes they're sorry later, sometimes as soon as they've said it, but sometimes not at all.

 

As a source of what, though, in this instance? Evidence that people can be really awful to each other? I don't think it takes YouTube to prove that, though maybe some of us have had more experience with that than others.

 

LOL......the right imagines that there are 'gay recruiters' setting up tables in schools, telling kids all of the benefits of being a minority, that other teenagers routinely beat and torment.
