true lots of women rights did come out of that civil war after a LOT the good Alpha males where slaughter on the battlefields , viva feminist leagues rose out of that ashes, wonder full right? and we know women played a key role in freeing the slaves and as a result putting them on welfare a 100 years later..cause and effect http://www.anb.org/cush_rights.html
He did refuse. He was totally for the North. Then he was ordered to kill his brothers, sisters, and neighbors. You ok with killing your neighbors? I'm guessing not, but don't bash Lee for making the same choice you would. Unless you really want to kill your neighbors?
There were over 100,000 Southern Unionists that made the decision to serve in the Union Army -- they weren't forced, they decided to not become confederates and engage in treason against the UNITED States. These Southern Unionists came from every southern state - and every one, except South Carolina, raised at least one battalion.
Well there were over 350000 northerners who had moved to the south just prior to the war so its no big surprise. After the war they were refereed to as scalawags
Huh … Interesting *take* … Anyway, Lee was a loser who spilled blood and lives for the sake of illegal secession and the preservation and extension of slavery … He was as bad as any Nazi ...
lol. No. 350,000 northerners didn't move south "just prior to the war." The northerns who went down down during the war and during the time of reconstruction were the ones called scalawags by defeated confederates (aka: "worthless person") - these folks headed south because they saw profit, and quite a few were there to work on behalf of the newly freed slaves.
This writer agrees with you ... "It doesn’t seem to matter that Lee, who turned down an offer by Lincoln to command the Union army before the actual shooting started, was by definition a traitor and a terrorist. Indeed, he is responsible for more American deaths than any foreign or domestic enemy in our entire collective past, including Adolf Hitler and Osama bin Laden combined. A little too harsh an assessment, do you think? Not really when all the relevant facts are examined. Despite having sworn an oath of allegiance to defend our nation and Constitution against all threats, Lee unceremoniously decided to resign his commission from the U.S. Army in 1861. He then proceeded to take up arms with the Confederacy, a loose collection of rebellious Southern states who were committed to preserving the enslavement of millions of African-Americans." http://cognoscenti.wbur.org/2015/04/24/thomas-j-whalen-on-robert-e-lee
Not according to the census . Most of them fought for the south anyway - - - Updated - - - There is nothing in the constitution saying session is illegal meaning it is legal. The north had no right to take back the southern states
Resided. Some had lived three for decades before the war. That does not say what you claimed. THINK! Say it a million times. It won't matter. The question was answered by the war, and many other factors. You lost. Too bad, So sad. .
Facts of history - - - Updated - - - Article III, section 110 "treason taking up arms against the United States " see: Fort Sumter ...
The war officially started on April 12. The south started committing treason and Acts of War in December of 1860, by seizing forts and in the just the first week of January '61, had commenced blasting cannons on US property...along with scooping up --I mean stealing - federal buildings and ships in the South. Some states even before they seceded.
I do find it interesting -- and disturbing -- that more than a century after the horrors of the Civil War, there are still some who apparently consider it glorious and the Southern Cause righteous and worth celebrating … *shudder*
And for a "country" whose goal was continued preservation and expansion of ownership of black human beings, the stated purpose White Supremacy.
3 decades is not long I lost? My great great grand dad was US Grant and Im from NY. I guess to you might makes right - - - Updated - - - There is nothing glorious about war and death
Nonsense . It was the north who went against the constitution by trying to destroy that which was approved under the constitution.
The word is there. Lived there. Not three. That was a typo. "Resided. Some had lived three for decades before the war." Many had lived there much of their lives. All we know is they were born in the north, and moved south. Your statement "there were over 350000 northerners who had moved to the south just prior to the war" is ridiculous. You are so confused. You say "most of these folks fought for the Confederacy" in one post, and in another -- you call those same folks scalawags.
because it was a last stand by the south, before the NWO northern industrial program everyone is equal commie like mindset, that Lincoln and the bankers had dreamed up that was a civil war in the making face off of the Souths agriculture culture, of a slower traditional classy type, thus leading to a ultimate destruction of the usa's foundation started to go in effect.
How is it nazi-like to end the worshiping of slavery / glorifying white supremacy in the open for the white community who lost the war ages ago? It's more the other way around, that your kind of glorifying white supremacy is nazi-like.
your acting as if the whole civil war was base of slavery issue as we all know here it was more then that, like trade restrictions put on the south and lots of new taxe$ the north wanted the south to pay for there cotton and crops.
