Unlike Israelis, or Russians - Americans have no "national memory" of a war
that came near to erasing the American nation off the map.
Thus Americans "do not get" that Israel only had to lose one war to be off the map
as hard as you may try to "draw them a picture". Good Luck.

Obama abolished rule of law? In which nations did he abolish rule of law?

Actually I can agree with much of what you say about the state of the world, but certainly not with the proposition that Obama is resposible for the ongoing mess - neither before, during or after his presidency, although one might indeed be disappointed with his legacy: as "the most powerful man in the world" (a joke by the way); he was in a position to implement UN resolution 242, with incalculable positive effects on the course of the subsequent 8 years (extremists like Hamas could largely have been managed by Abbas, and hopefully the forces of good in Israel - they do exist - would have dealt with the problem of the fundamentalist settler ideology.)

In any case, as long as nations demand national soveignty based solely on self-interest, there can be no effective implementation of *international* rule of law, meaning that your hoped for elimination of all the ills you mention cannot procede, because these ills have strong international components, and require adjudication by an international court whose decisions can be implemented by a properly constituted UNSC - just as rule of law in your own nation has a supreme court (note:no veto) whose judgements can be implemented through threat of sanctions (prison) for non-compliance.

Oh that must be why a Palestinian state does not exist and never has.... Ignore UN resolution 187, start a bunch of wars of aggression to wipe your neighbor off the map and drive its people into the sea, ignore resolution 242, resort to terror, kidnapping, suicide bombings, hijackings, elect a terror gang to run your government.. and before you know, you can't have a state... Duh. Lest we forget that their treatment of women, sexual and religious minorities is in direct violation of international law as well.

obama played a key role - if not the pivotal role - in the "Arab Spring" which destabilized much of North Africa. He also ensured Iraq was a failure, played a supporting role in further pushing Pakistan and Turkey towards instability, and played a key role in creating the current mess with Syria and the creation of ISIS and its various offshoots. Not to mention his emboldening expansionist ideas in China and Russia and Iran.

And all the while he has stabbed Israel in the back at every opportunity, including actively working (interfering) in Israeli elections.

Israel is largely "good", Abbas is not going to stop Hamas or any other terror group, the UN is so biased it will never solve any significant problem, and no US President is going to solve the problems with the "Palestinians". When Israel's enemies clearly want them to be eliminated and wiped from the face of the earth, Israel cannot negotiate with them.

The current "land for peace" has been a joke and a failure but it can work if reversed - Israel must expand its land territory to a strategically defensible range. That's the only possible solution.

Wrong. The Arabs started an *illegal* war. In international law there was no dispute as to territory - the law re territory was determined by the UN partition.

The UN has to deal with the land *disputed by two nations*, and adjudicate.

The problem lies in the fact that the UN was, and is, is presently unable to prevent war, a situation which will ultimately have to be dealt with, for the future of the planet.

(Individuals will always find reasons to fight, but the idea that nations have to fight wars for whatever reason is ridiculous, obsolete, and potentially catastrophic for the species in the nuclear age.

No Mr. Naïveté- if Arabs have won any of the wars, there'd be no Israel or Jews living in Israel, and Arabs would not give a (*)(*)(*)(*) about illegalities, sanctions or resolutions.

    Jeeesh.......

The problem lies in the fact that the UN is a corrupt, bureaucratic useless money pit dominated by a block of third world dictatorships, theocracies and tyrannies interested in protecting their interests and scratching each other's backs and absolutely nothing else, the least of all interested in "universal justice" whatever that may be.

I am glad we agree. Let us know when "international law" arrests, prosecutes and punishes the perpetrators, makes them pay damages and reparations to the victim of the aggression (Israel) and forces these rogue arab states to comply with international law, specifically resolutions 187 and 242. Until that time, your whining about international law and Israel is frankly meaningless and hypocritical (no offense) and your faith in the UN and international law is pipe dream and wishful thinking.

This is a map of the region. Jews homeland dates back thousands of years. Every country in the region has its land by military conquest.

The percentage of land in the region held by Jews by comparison is so small it is almost impossible to find and more resembles a city than a county in size. Iran has boasted that the entirety of Israel could be obliterated with just one nuclear bomb for how tiny it is. The only one smaller is devastated (formerly) Christian Lebanon.

Why do most Democrats and liberals now so intensely hate Jews in Israel - while having no condemnations of lands taken by Muslims in military conquest - generally with the demand of submit to the religion of Islam or be mass murdered?

Give it a try. Link to any message of your condemning any Muslim country holding land taken by conquest or of oppression of non-Muslims in their countries? Have you ever posted any message critical of the essential slaughter of Jews thru out the ME?

Why the specific and unique hatred of Jews and Israel, the tiniest country in the region?

They don't hate only the Jews in the Middle East, they hate Christians too. Under democrats watch many massacres of Christians and organized ethnic cleansing took place in the Middle East. They didn't say a word. The only people they have soft spot for are Sunni radical Muslims. Weird.

The contents of an explosive report by the Red Cross on a humanitarian tragedy

    &

    Gaza Situation Report
Gaza’s unemployment rate - at 43.9 per cent - is now the highest in the world, according
to the latest World Bank economic update. Even more alarming is the situation of youth
unemployment which soared to more than 60 percent by the end of 2014. The report was
presented to the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee (AHLC), a principal policy-level coordination
mechanism for development assistance to the Palestinian people, at the bi-annual meeting.
in Brussels on May 27, 2015. According to the report Gaza’s GDP would have been about
four times higher than it currently is if it weren’t for the conflicts and multiple restrictions.
It also considers that the Israeli imposed blockade, in place since 2007, has resulted in a 50
per cent decrease of Gaza’s GDP. The report further states that in 2014 the average monthly
salary in Gaza amounted to US$ 174; with a poverty rate of 39 per cent, an 11 per cent increase
from 2013. Real per capita income – approximately US$ 970.3 in 2014 – is 31 per cent lower
than it was 20 years ago, while the population has at the same time increased by 230 per cent.

The last conflict has exacerbated the already dismal situation. Moreover, the World Bank
estimates that the July/August hostilities have resulted in a US$ 460 million decrease of the
Strip’s output; the massive destruction has led to losses close to US$ 4.4 billion. The report also
highlights that Gaza's population suffers from poor access to social services and underlines the
alarming quality of basic public services such as electricity, water, and sewerage. Nearly 80
percent of the population receives social assistance, and nearly 40 percent of them still fall below
the poverty line. In a press release featuring key highlights from the report, Mr Steen Lau
Jorgensen, World Bank Country Director for West Bank and Gaza, said: “The ongoing blockade
and the 2014 war have taken a toll on Gaza’s economy and people's livelihoods. Gaza’s exports
virtually disappeared and the manufacturing sector has shrunk by as much as 60 percent. The
economy cannot survive without being connected to the outside world.”

The almost guaranteed new laws which Trump will have in place to shut up criticism of Israel and label peaceful protest as anti-Semitism.

Alt reality for an alt peace.

But not to worry, we'll still be able to nail all the Arabs as publicly, dishonestly, and cynically as we want.

It's interesting to note, my post was critical of Benjamin Netanyahu but through the magic of internet logic (or the lack thereof) and a healthy does of partisan shilling, behold, my post turned into a hate filled spew about Jews. Poor kid. Merry Christmas.

    You convinced Moi.
Eadora is truly an alien! :roflol:
    Could even be :flagcanada:
Now there is a "Strange Land", Eadora's stated home.

The economic failure of Gaza is a failure of the Palestinian leadership.
BTW remember Egypt ran Gaza from 1948 to 1968. How well did that work out?
For nearly 70 years they have focused primarily on war and hardly a notice to developing a Palestinian economy.
But, it is easier to Blame Israel.
Less kick back than blaming the Palestinian leadership and the corruption of foreign support funds and the corrupting influence of foreign support funds from other Arab nations "ear marked" for making war on Israel.
Arabia, fighting Israel to the last drop of Palestinian blood as they say.

    Meanwhile
    https://www.yahoo.com/news/defying-pressure-u-lets-u-n-denounce-israeli-003317040.html

Israel to re-assess U.N. ties after
    settlement resolution, says Netanyahu

"I instructed the Foreign Ministry to complete within a month a re-evaluation of all our contacts with the United Nations, including the Israeli funding of U.N. institutions and the presence of U.N. representatives in Israel," Netanyahu said in broadcast remarks.

"I have already instructed to stop about 30 million shekels ($7.8 million) in funding to five U.N. institutions, five bodies, that are especially hostile to Israel ... and there is more to come," he said.

And they do exist. Witness Eadora's references. :hmm:
Considering the vote was as impotent as the League of Nations, it was stupid.
Stupid is as stupid does, and this vote was stupid.

    1) The excuse that the land had changed hands 21 times is irrelevant since international laws such as the Covenant of the League of Nations and the Charter of the United Nations were established. They changed the entire legal context of siege and occupy.
    2) The 'Muslims' have proposed one-on-one peace negotiations with Israel on three occasions - 1971 (Sadat - who paid for his peace-seeking with his life); the March 2002 Beirut summit of the Arab League; and the Arab League summit in Riyadh in March 2007 (21 heads of state attended the summit and fully re-endorsed the 2002) peace plan. All three were rejected outright by Israel and the USA before any negotiations took place.

So that puts paid to the jaded old Zionist myth that the 'Muslims' never seek peace. So who are the guilty parties in reality?

You have my sympathy in this regard; however the world changed after 1945 with the establishment of international law. Now, can you start living in the present, be grateful that the UN agreed to the partition of Palestine (against the will of the Arab world) in res 181, and be comfortable in the assurance you have the support not only of International Law (based on res 242), but also the support of of the world's greatest nuclear deterence. No nation on earth will challenge that support, when their extinction is guaranteed.
