Call it what ever you like. Killing babies and children, even in war, is murder.

Would it make you feel better if I did not use the term murder ? Seriously ?

    OK Let me rephrase.

The God of the Christians commanded his followers to innocent women, children and babies. Happy now ?

My apologies for assuming that you saying this:

Meant that you believe that the Holy Spirit is God.

So you do not believe that the Holy Spirit is God.

    Interesting.

Who do you thing the Holy Spirit is then ... an angel ? some kind of fancy spirit guide ?

Jesus is the killer. He has some noxious bad breath.

    2 Thessalonians 2:8 (ERV) =
"Then that Man of Evil will appear. But the Lord Jesus will
kill him with the breath that comes from his mouth. The Lord will come in a way that everyone will see, and that will be the end of the Man of Evil."

    No, it's not murder. It's war. There's a difference.

I already took back the use of the term murder. Quit cherry picking my posts.

If you feel better that the God of the Christians told his followers to kill children and babies in mass slaughter rather than your definition of murder then good for you.

If you think it is ok to commit war crimes and kill children in front of their parents .... Good for you.

Seemingly you are having a problem with the meaning of the word 'probable' or 'likely'. Dictionaries are available online. You going from one extreme to the other will not work either. So keep trying and sooner or later you will hit the nail on the head. Who do you 'think' the Holy Spirit is?

Christians are God's followers and so in essence you are saying that God told Christians to commit murder, which of course we Christians know that to be a falsehood.

If you insist that is not what you meant then go ahead and rephrase that statement you made, otherwise you are saying that God told Christians to commit murder.

Furthermore another falsehood spewed by you is saying that God has never spoken to Christians. Jesus spoke to His disciples...doesn't that count? Well of course it does, for Jesus is God in the flesh.

One last error to correct that you made, God has never told anyone to commit murder. There is no where in Scripture that we read such as sinful command given by God. Since God is perfectly Holy, therefore sinless He will never ever command anyone to commit murder which is a sinful act.

There is no biblical support to verify your outrageous claim.

I claimed that you believed the Holy Spirit was God. You denied that this claim was correct.

Logical deduction my good man. You do not believe that the Holy Spirit is God.

Or is it that you do not know what it is that you believe from one day to the next :fishing:

I did not. I stated that was your interpretation of what I said. Quit amending what I have stated. If you are going to attempt to say what I said, then use the quote function instead of writing what you think I stated.

Logic is just another form of religion/philosophy. To you Socrates would be god as he is the only philosopher who has never been proven to exist.

I know quite well what I believe, and what I believe is my business.... not yours. Read my signature line.

I did not say that Christians were the followers. The followers were the Jews. Then the poster I was responding to took offense to the term murder as applied to killing babies in war.

My apologies for not being more specific such that the weak minded in the crowd would not get confused.

OK The God of the Christians commanded his Israelite followers to kill babies. Happy now :)

Since God has never communicated directly to Christians like he did to his Chosen people perhaps he would give Christians different marching orders. We just don't know now do we.

If you insist that is not what you meant then go ahead and rephrase that statement you made, otherwise you are saying that God told Christians to commit murder.

Jesus was not God... at least not according to Jesus or the majority of the pre Nicene Church Fathers. You can believe what you wish but have no business stating it as fact.

If it makes you feel better to not use the term murder for the act of killing innocent babies and killing children in front of their parents then so be it.

The fact of the matter is that God had Satan "MURDER" Job's children.

God had the Israelites kill all the townspeople of King Sihon and numerous other towns. It was not war... the Israelites snuck up on these towns an slaughtered people including women, children and babies.

It makes me sick that you try and hide behind symantics in order to justify mass slaughter of women children and babies.

Nice Religion. The Religion of justifying slaughter of innocents.

ROFL - no support to verify God commanding the slaughter of innocents ? You have got to be joking.

Other than the example of the Job and the townspeople of King Sihon (Deuteronomy 2). How many other examples would you like.

    No you didn't. I didn't cheery pick.
    Murder was never committed.
    War crimes weren't committed.

You're really reaching on this one.

I am not interested in talking to someone who dances around such a simple question.

You already know where this is going and you are trying to avoid the inescapable conclusion that follows your claims.

    1) You have claimed that he Holy spirit is God or at least is from God (it really matters not)
    2) You claim that this spirit interprets scripture for you.

Inescapable conclusion: You claim to speak for God = have Gods interpretation/meaning of scripture.

Get behind me Satan is what I say... ones that would claim to speak for God.

Jesus warned against false prophets ... ones who would come and claim to be the Messiah. Only the Messiah speaks for God.
This is the unforgivable sin, the awful horror, the abomination of desolation.

Keep your spirit guide interpretations to yourself.

By the Word of God. The Bible. Do you have any evidence to the
contrary? If so then provide it. And please, don't regurgitate your
usual non answer tripe. Try to be serious this time.

God was complicit with Satan in the killing of Job's children. This is murder.

God commanded or was responsible for the killing of women, children, and babies. These are war crimes.

In the case of King Sihon it was murder or at the very least mass slaughter of innocents because of something that God did. It was God that made Sihon's not let the Israelites pass. After defeating Sihon's army the Israelites then slaughter all the townspeople.

Here is God's Son Satan acting in conjunction with God in Job:

Here we have God ordering the "MURDER" of all the inhabitants in a certain town because they decide to use the free will that God Gave them to worship other Gods.

More mass slaughter on the command of God - Deuteronomy 3

In 1 Samuel: God wants to punish the Amalekites for something that happened centuries ago (apparently forgetting his command that children are not to be punished for the sins of their parents)

Mass Slaughter of innocents at Gods command
There is much more but I would hope that you would have had your fill of God's slaughter of babies and children by now.

Take heart though, sometimes God was nice and let the Israelites keep some of the women as sex slaves. Ahhh ... the good ol days.

Maybe, maybe not. But it helps in discussions to know where the other stands. Whether one agrees or not.
From your post you believe the HS is God. So he's a biune, not a triune. As you have been clear, Jesus is not God.

And you could have said, we likely won't be in disagreement. Implying the likely hood you'd be in agreement. But yours was just the opposite.

    1. See salem witch hunts for starters. Very devout christians.
    2. No, one of the big posters in this thread knows Jesus is NOT God. So jesus speaking to his disciples in NOT God speaking. Many here agree.

What is the bible? Man's interpretation of some stories passed down before words were recorded.
The bible is a concoction of stories written by many writers, origin unknown in many cases. Put together by a special council. For reasons that are in question. Many so called 'gospels' have been omitted for the bible most people use today.
Prove the bible we have is the 'word of god'? You can't, you can only assume it is. And it is highly likely, not.

I believe giftedone has already given you 'bible' stories where God commanded slaughter of women and children. Killing of children in front of their parents. If you see this as good, well, nothing anyone can do about, cept you.
