I agree- Fear of being arrested. Not the smart thing to do if you are innocent.

No kidding. And how many were fleeing right after they assaulted the officer? You should be shot after a violent act since the odds of that person committing another violent act while fleeing is significantly ramped up. It’s why that policy existed. Anyone who fights with officers while being arrested and can flee, gives up the right to be treated humanely. They take a hostage. They steal a car. Break into a home to hide. Happens all the time. Why should someone innocent be punished just to protect the guilty felon? They shouldn’t.

What happened to “stop or I’ll shoot!!” Leftists that’s who:) They always care more about the felons than the innocent.

Groovy.. same people has here creating their own future "food deserts" there.

This is why we can't have nice things... low IQ, ammoral, killer apes with no concept of the future rob, rape, murder and ruin everything good.
There was a time in the USA when blacks had a thriving culture and economy, then democrats took Jesus from them and gave them "free svit" and ruined any chance they had a being productive members of our civilization.

Ah, Africa. I assume you're talking about a working relationship there and I admire you for the patience that must have required. I started my exploration late and as a tourist.

Depends on what they were afraid of...fear of being beaten up would also lead to flight. We seem to be coming back to CRT.

My father's secretary was raised in a wealthy Chinese household. As an adult she had never seen water boil. That 'some point' for her was when she she had kids in Australia and realised you have to cook a meal.

This is not exactly reality. Most food desserts are on the edge of town, in the industrial parts of town, and in rural areas. At the previous place that I lived, the crime rate was around zero. Nice lily White slightly upper middle class neighborhood on the edge of town. Yet the nearest grocery store was about two miles away. Nearby there were a couple of super convenience stores who did a lot of business. Since I have moved away, the grocery store has closed as part of the Safeway/Albertsons merger. The closest grocery store is now about four miles away. But then, there are several nearby seasonal vegetable stands from which one can purchase freshly picked vegetables.

That would be a lot like blaming the toilet for your diarrhea.
If you've been told all your life that cops will beat you up or kill you, you may believe it. The question is- where does that belief come from?
It comes from black culture. Statistics prove it wrong, they show that by far and away, a black person's probable antagonist is most like to be- another black person.
CRT is just an attempt to justify the culture of violence and irresponsibility. It's toilet-quality thinking too- political BS to promote racism.

If you're suggesting that people in the U.S. are "color blind," I seriously doubt you know what you're talking about. It would be nice if they were, but they are not and it doesn't hurt to examine why rather than bury our heads in the sand.

Or the one’s shot because the officer had a twitchy finger. There was a big case in the Portland area awhile back. A police officer had pulled over a young Black man because the officer thought the young man looked too gangster-like to be driving a nice car, which was his mother’s car, in such a nice neighborhood. With gun drawn, the officer asked the young man for his license and registration. As he reached into the center console to retrieve his license and registration, the officer shot him dead, claiming he thought the young man was reaching for a gun.

What would all those chemical engineers do if they can make a product to imitate food?

If it's not on the list the way this thread's topic shot to hell in short order this one should be, "you can't discuss a f**king THING with some people without it segueing into racism one way or another"!

I see color all the time. In fact I am kind of obsessed with it in an artistry kind of way. The problem isn’t in seeing color, it is in treating all colors equitably. People should be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of where they fall along the color spectrum.

2-4 miles is not far in "slightly upper middle class" suburbs.
Washington, DC television regularly covers the "food desert" in the poor part of DC.

The question is how much racial prejudice is learned behavior (which can be corrected) and how much is in our DNA, similar to our no longer needed appendix? Fear of rival tribes may have been a beneficial early warning mechanism in the beginnings of human development.

Somehow American conservatives have managed to give “ patriot” a bad connotation in many quarters.

Most aren't fond of gettting beaten by the police. So they flee. Most of them have the wrong skin color.

I agree completely. But, that may be very difficult to achieve, particularly if prejudice is found to be more than learned behavior.

Any prejudice, racial or other, is learned behavior.

    "Color blind" remains the ideal.

It is kind of the problem with the police. No adult supervision.

    The ideal is color acceptance.

Agreed. But, there may have been a meaningful purpose earlier in human development - i.e. ethnic prejudice may be partially genetic and not entirely learned behavior. We can work on the learned behavior part...DNA changes may be more difficult. [Note: Actually, with genetic research today, the reverse could be true and it could be easier to alter DNA than change learned behavior.] One way or the other, it seems to me to at least be worthy of discussion and research.
