Well, they can't pick their students, but they can reject the ones they don't want. At least locally, most of the charters have been a disaster. Then again, we do have a few magnet schools and have intra district school choice--basically if a kid isn't a trouble maker, they can go to whatever school in the district they want to (besides the more popular magnet schools).

DeVos is a different model. Her leadership will either work or it won't. But trying something new isn't a sin. It's what we should do when past actions haven't worked. What a concept!!

What about her experience, education or resume makes you think she's competent enough? What about the grilling she received from congress makes you feel as if she isn't in completely over head?
