Disrespecting vs an assault. Hmmmm, what do you think.

We don't really know what went down,we weren't there all we know is what the media wants us to know.I won't second guess it.We will see what comes out at the trial.

On that I would have to agree - given the current right wing candidates - funniest comedy show on the planet at the moment

But you still have not told me how this is different from shooting someone for "disrespecting" you

An assault where you throw something in someones face and a verbal insult are two very different things. Wow, and you call right wingers comedy.

    - - - Updated - - -

Both articles are trying to prove that an armed victim is actually the one at fault.

If you ever visit America. Spend a couple of hours at a gun show. I don't care what neighborhood it is in. It will be the safest place within 100 miles. Even people that look like toothless rednecks or inner city dwellers wearing hoodies treat people with absolute respect and they receive the same respect. You can't walk 2 feet without hearing people saying "please, thank you, maam, sir" or some other polite greeting. I wouldn't hesitate to let any kid 12 years old or up roam with their friends without an adult escort. (and I am more careful than most with my kids) America would be an awesome place if it was like the floor of a gun show.

Edit: How guns are treated at gun shows:

Police check every gun entering the gun show. The action of all guns is opened with a zip tie, but you can wear your gun and keep your ammo on you. All guns on the tables are also unloaded and opened with a zip tie or trigger lock. People wanting to sell guns keep them in a backpack and put a sign on the backpack with an advertisement attached. If you see something you like, ask them about it. All vendors are FFLs and do all required paperwork and background checks. The police and gun show operators are the only people allowed to have loaded guns, but if somebody went nuts, everybody would be armed in about 5 seconds and the problem wouldn't last long.

Funny how mass shootings occur in gun-free zones, but not gun shows, shooting competitions, re-enactments, police stations...

What does that have to do with mass shootings in specific or violent crime in general?
You aren't trying to move the goalpost, are you?

Nope, just NCs have been happening at those places for years.
The show I go to seem to have one every year or so.
Mass shooting? No, but gun shows are not as safe as people are making them out to be.
You wont find a more staunch supporter of the 2A on here than me. But facts are facts.

That's what we already have. Criminals don't follow laws or gun safety rules.

I have never been to a gun show that ever had any trouble and I have been at plenty ever year.I have bought guns at a gun show before and you don't get the gun there it is sent with a FFL dealer in your area of your choosing and you go there then to pick it up after the waiting period is up.I would like to know where this is so easy to get a gun in a hurry.

Usually what happens in a CCW has a gun on his hip that is loaded and dosent unload it when someone asks to see it.

    http://www.armedwithreason.com/debu...yth-2-0-how-criminals-respond-to-gun-control/

Criminals are not some weird alien species - they are people. People who have broken laws and citizens up until they do break those laws. We will not be able to stop someone determined to do wrong but we can and will make the average Joe pause and think before they act and in so doing may stop the action itself

Criminals are by definition people who do not obey the law. Adding more laws will only affect the law abiding public and leave them at a bigger disadvantage to be preyed on by criminals. Why do mass shootings happen primarily where law abiding people are disarmed? These places are a tiny percentage of American property, yet they host the most mass violence. How many MASS killings happen just over our Southern border? No thanks.

I carry a gun concealed to prevent from being a victim. The fact that I MAY be armed is deterrent enough for many criminals to protect myself and sometimes other people who the criminals may fear that they are armed, even when that criminal target might not even own a gun. If you were a tourist in Texas, my gun might even protect you without you or I even knowing it.

Meaning you wish to focus all efforts on those who are categorically the least likely to commit a criminal action to begin with, just in case they might decide that they wish to break the law. While simultaneously doing nothing about those who have extensive records of violating the law with no regard.

Honestly, if that was his meaning he would just say that.

As noted in your footer name calling is bad. But a poor attempt at verballing (or trying to put words into peoples posts that aren't there) is even worse.

    (chuckle)
How/why will/can gun control deter someone from committing murder or other violent felonies?
