Romney is an establishment elitist (could be either party) He wears the same "magic underwear" as Jeff Flakey Flake. Flake just knew when to quit.
I don't think Romney is conservative enough but he is more conservative than any potential Democrat. And if he were nominated and happen to get elected in 2020 it is quite possible he would help with rebranding the conservative moment in general and the GOP in particular.
It's quite possible he would return us to the compromise of Juan McCain. Compromise has always sent us "left"!
I can recall Trump supporting Romney in 2008. Maybe I missed it, but I don't recall Romney ever supporting Trump in 2016, or at anytime thereafter.
The DNC-E and the GOP-E are one in the same. Both groups are self serving and rely upon the ignorance of the average uninformed voter. Mitt Romney is a blue blood who is much more like George W. Bush than Donald J. Trump.
If this person is trying to set himself up for 2020 then he is about to get a lesson that the Republican Party is Trumps party. Even if by chance Romney were to win the nomination the Trump wing is not going to support him. Romney picked Ryan as his running mate the last time he ran and they lost. Ryan and his cohorts did everything they could to block Trumps agenda, and the Trump wing knows this, and will not forget who these RINOS are and will not support them in upcoming elections.
Somebody has no clue what the differences are between a Democrat and a Republican and that somebody wrote the OP.
In Romney's defense, being on the left on one issue doesn't make him a democrat. Ontheissues.org did a very thorough analysis of Romney's actions and positions over the years and rated him 70% conservative on economic issues and 90% conservative on social issues. http://www.ontheissues.org/Mitt_Romney.htm
Mitt Romney is a ruthless capitalist--a piranha--and a pathological narcissist. Does it make you feel better about yourself to accuse those who disagree with you of being hate filled and fascists?
Interesting. Ocasio-Cortez comes to mind when I read the part of your post about hyper-partisans being the worst kind of people who can't think for themselves. Ocasio-Cortez repeats whatever sounds the nicest even though it is an unworkable fantasy. She has her SJW talking points all memorized--the ones she learned while studying to be a community organizer. How impressive.
I learned a little about leveraged-buy outs, and how devastating they are to the American working man. Romney knows all about leveraged-buy outs. He also knows a lot about to destroy the lives of the working class when he lays them off, and closes the factory.
Dear Romney psychophant, this is a long post, and is off-topic, but immigrants are costing us about $130 billion/year. There are about 300,000 anchor babies born in US every year. You can bet that at least 99% of anchor-baby households get welfare benefits. Cash benefits for these households are about $666/ year. 300,000 x 666 = approximately $200,000,000/year. This is just for one year, and this is just for the cash we give them. Most of these irresponsible, blood suckers who use their children as paychecks stay on welfare for decades. Let's say for 20 years. 300,000 x $650/year cash x 20 = approximately $40,000,000,000 just in cash stipends. Cut them off the cash and we would have a nice down payment for the high tech wall. We could also make anchor-baby mommas find some kind of work. They could bring some of the textile factories back to America, and make them earn their keep. The kids can go to day care and learn to speak English cause momma ain't teaching them. If we forced the illegal mama's to work for a living instead of baby-making for a living, we would save per anchor baby for one year: 300,000 x 6500 (average stipend for illegals/year) x 20 years = $400,000,000. But remember there 4.5 million anchor babies. What we would save if we cut them off welfare is 5,850,000,000,000--nigh on $6 trillion dollars over 20 years. Plenty of money to build a wall, and some left over to pass around (in the name of "development") to the political criminals in the countries these 'asylum seekers' come from. No way did I insinuate that Trump was a working man, or that Trump is a builder. I did not vote for him, so hahahahahaha.
So you want a one party system then? Cause that's essentially what it comes down to when you work closely with others even though its not what your constituents want. Not everyone on the left or right agrees 100% on any issue, but to keep compromising or flip flopping as Romney does when the left never does, its capitulating.
Romney is just a used car salesman. Just like Bush, Clinton, obama, et al....he wanted to be president so he could do the bidding of the oligarch over lords.
The Congress is supposed to make things happen for the American people, and when Democrats and Republicans work together to that end, good things happen. Has nothing to do with a one-party system. How could you possibly glean that out of my comments? Ridiculous and false.
