    Yeah ... and Russian males die also much earlier as them due to too much Vodka and cigarettes as some Russian statistics tell. Mmmh ... makes me thinking about why they drink like mad ;-)

    Many died during the "great patriotic war" so many women worked on tractors, factories, shops. And yeah, vodka and smoking definitely factor in. These people sure toss back the vodka!!!

    In general, simplifications and generalizations are always crap ... no matter for or against whom and whatever or what topic it is.

    However, in my opinion this is true in many rural areas of the vast country of Russia ... but also in many other Eastern European countries. Look for e.g. The rural areas of Romania or Bulgaria, does not look any different as on your photos shown.
    Likewise, alcohol is a major problem in many countries, especially in Eastern Europe. Sure, alcohol abuse is ultimately a problem and not only there, but I am not talking about constantly drunk Kenyans, Belgians, Japanese or Argentinians, etc. ... but the subject is Russia and his alcohol problem.

    But I have absolutely no desire to argue with certain forum members who deny all always everything and blame as bad propaganda, etc., when it goes against Russia ... just as not with other members, which in reverse mark Russia for everything guilty or somebody for whom all others are evil, but never one's own country.
