Every bit of that is true, which is all the more reason why Americans should have voted against a man sympathetic to Putin. Instead, Trump voters sided with Putin.

I don't get it. Is it just a question of ignorance?

Okay, Seth, you won't answer the question. You know you screwed up and you would just as soon not advertise that fact on this forum. I can understand that.

    I won't ask it again.

Two-way street? I have answered your questions. You just don't like the answers.

Hillary talked about no fly zones over syria, putting us into conflict with russia, trump talked as if he wanted to leave the door open to see if we could work with russia to defeat isis. Being involved in selling russia our uranium was not enough for putin to want hillary.

Because they had studied Trump like a bug under a microscope and knew he can be manipulated with flattery and spectacle.
LOLOL.. The uranium the Russians bought was owned by the Canadians.

Up until the neocons like hillary and so much of congress, we had enough sense to try to keep decent, non combative relations with a power, russia who can destroy us with nukes. Trump tried to return to that sanity. But he was usurped by the deep state who does not want that. Nor do the neocons want it. Too profitable to have another cold war with russia, which makes our people suffer as treasure is sunk into that instead of this nation. The dems used to understand this, but then they went GooGoo.

The DP was for so long the party of the People. Now they like the GOP are the party of the elites. And you dem voters are too dense to even see it. LOL

So the DP, think, just throw these clueless dems a SJW bone, and they will be fine that we do not represent them outside of that.

No, you have dodged them deliberately. If you're ever interested in a two-way respectful discussion, I'm here. A one-way diatribe is not an option.

That is an assumption on your part, but a valid one. That is an answer to my question. Putin didn't want someone who would be tough on Russia. Trump was more, shall we say, cooperative.

I have no idea what you are talking about. Can you be specific?

I have started a number of threads that I am active on, and I am active on others. Perhaps I missed something but I don't know what.

Quit pouting. It's childish. This isn't email.

It sounds like you are saying that 45-year Cold War was "decent, non combative relations" with Russia. It seems you are unaware that we have had an adversarial relationship with Russia since the end of WWII. You appear to look back on the Cold War with a sense of fond memories of peace.

I lived through it, all of it. It was a period of tense relations between the U.S. and USSR with proxy wars. Simply because we didn't drop nuclear bombs on each other doesn't mean it was "decent, non combative relations."

But that is ancient history. More recently Russian has shown her aggressive tendencies by invading Ukraine and annexing Crimea. Russian-backed soldiers, possibly even Russian troops, are still fighting in Ukraine. Russia supports the murderous Assad in Syria. She sells arms to Iran and provides her with nuclear equipment. Russian interfered in our election.

It is true. Trump wanted "decent, non combative relations" with Russia and he enjoyed a bromance with Putin. A mutual admiration society really, but the wily Putin was only feeding Trump's giant ego. Trump loves to be loved, particularly by our enemies, Putin and China's Xi.

Of course, the cold war and what that involved. But we did not demonize russia like we do today, nor did we flirt with disaster. In fact, DC is insanely irresponsible, where in the past we had better sense and were more responsible. But MAD should do that, and now? They act as if they can survive MAD, and act like madmen. Just like you. And some others here. But today in america, it really is to be expected. A declining empire features such characters.

What a crock. I don't know anyone (Dem or GOP) who bases their votes for our next President based upon who the Russians "want" or "don't want". Don't recall ever seeing "The Russians approve/disapprove" listed as a reason in ANY poll of voters to determine who they are voting for or the issues most important to them. Nice try at Monday morning quarterback spinning, but as you are aware, your attempt is bunk.

Sounds like you are saying we should just overlook those transgressions in the spirit of detente. Trump sure is, so I guess he is making you happy.

There were at least five high profile incidents that nearly caused a nuclear war. You are familiar with the most famous, the Cuban Missile Crisis.

I don't understand why you have such an idyllic view of our past relationship with the USSR and Russia. It doesn't make sense unless you are sympathetic to Russia.

Are you? That would explain a lot, including your shared views of Russia with Trump.

I don't understand your compulsion to distort facts. You're trying to persuade me that my voting Trump, is somehow tacit support of Vladmir Putin? Such a disingenuous false equivalence ... Then to add insult to injury, yoy imply that barring treasonous motives, ignorance is what led me to vote Trump. Your condescending attitude, and arrogance is astounding. I'm frankly amazed anyone engages you at all. Which likely explains why you're left lamenting queries that "no ones willing to answer" ...

What you are saying is true. What I said is true as well, You took my statements out of context. You didn't show what I was replying to.

If you weren't aware through their hacking and the assessment of our intelligence agencies that Russia was supporting Trump, then you lived a very sheltered life during the campaign. Perhaps you didn't want to know the truth.

I am not aware of such poll, either, but that is beside the point. The fact that you just made up that fictitious poll is the point.

Your comments do support an opinion of mine. Those who voted for Trump did so on the basis of ignorance.

Russia overlooked what we did in Libya and Iraq. Is Iraq or Libya in better shape today? What has our invasions created over there?

To remind you...Ukraine had an elected ruler, who was friendly with russia, and would not turn his rich farm lands over to the west, which was unacceptable for us. Yet it was none of our business. So, there is no doubt our CIA with CIA related NGOs were in ukraine and helped to set up this coup. This threatened russia losing their warm water port which they have used for a long, long time. They have a history with Crimea and the access. Russia must have this warm water port access. And they will not give it up. Get it? So, when ukraine was made unstable, russia moved to secure its warm water port. Not by invasion and war but because it has a russian majority, they took a vote. Bad russia!! So, if you do not understand what russia must have, and what motivates them, national security, you are irresponsible. And with an imperialistic mind. Which is odd, given you benefit in no way from it.

I lived through the crisis with cuba and russia. JFK was a leader with good sense and sanity. DC no longer has that. We could not have nukes off of our coast, so close. And yet, we will put missiles on russia's border, and tell the world we need them there to use against Iran if needed. LOL The trouble with many americans, is that they seem to think they are entitled to break international law, that it only applies to others, and that russia or no other nation we do not like has no right to security, an economy, or self defense. And that sir is bat poop, irresponsible, insane, thinking. And for the life of me, I cannot understand insanity.

It is not being sympathetic with putin to want sane, responsible, thoughtful, non war mongering foreign policy. I despise the neocon new american century scheme which is what our foreign policy is, created by the likes of wolfawitz, and crystal, which involved taking down libya, iraq, syria, iran, some african nations, and lastly, russia. SO we could have a secure american hegemony in the 21st century. For our elites, but not for you, a peon. For you, or others, inevitable suffering, unless you are upper middle class.

When the new american century paper was first posted, or appeared online, it said that to kick this off we needed a major event to do it. Then coincidently came 911. Later on post 911, this needed event was retracted from the paper posted online. LOL Now IMO, with minds like yours, this is utterly meaningless, this retraction. For you strain out the gnats while allowing the elephants to pass...on...through. Such is the affection and affliction of tribalism, and what it does to a mind. IMO.

At a news conference, Putin called Trump “a bright and talented person,” “an outstanding and talented personality” and “the absolute leader of the presidential race.” “It is always a great honor to be so nicely complimented by a man so highly respected within his own country and beyond,” Trump responded.

“Do you like Vladimir Putin's comments about you?” Mika Brzezinski asked.

“Sure,” Trump replied. “When people call you brilliant, it's always good, especially when the person heads up Russia.”

“Well, I mean, he also is a person who kills journalists, political opponents and … invades countries,” Joe Scarborough followed up. “Obviously, that would be a concern, would it not?”

“He's running his country, and at least he's a leader, you know, unlike what we have in this country,” Trump answered.

“But, again, he kills journalists that don't agree with him,” Scarborough said.

“Well,” Trump said, “I think our country does plenty of killing, also, Joe. So, you know.”

There are countless more examples of Trump's fascination with Putin. If you were ignorant of all this, I don't know what you want me to say.

You sounded pissed. Did I hit a chord? You felt the need for a personal attack. Why?

I said, "Every bit of that is true, which is all the more reason why Americans should have voted against a man sympathetic to Putin. Instead, Trump voters sided with Putin. I don't get it. Is it just a question of ignorance?"

You described that as a distortion of facts. How did I distort the facts?

I just lost another friend today on facebook, because I don't support the white supremacists in Charlottesville Virginia, and I do support those protesting social injustice. Those players are NOT disrespecting the flag or the anthem. Most hold their hand over their heart during the anthem.

The Unite the Right protest in Charlottesville was the white supremacists and nazis. You can't put lipstick on that pig.

But Trump calls them "good people" and calls those protesting social injustice "S.O.B.'s" dividing this country back to the Civil War, pitting friend against friend, and families against each other.

I didn't expose the person that unfriended me on facebook, because I AM A FRIEND. She can take off her white sheet and pointy hat, if she is that proud to expose her bigotry.

Just more reason to be against Trump and the GOP.....and the Russians.

You won't get me to support the war in Iraq or our activities in Libya. Both were serious mistakes.

"So, if you do not understand what russia must have, and what motivates them, national security, you are irresponsible." It is our job as a country, for our national security, to deny what Russia must have. Thus our activities in Ukraine. What if Russia "must have" the Baltic states? Do you favor letting Russia have them?

"It is not being sympathetic with putin to want sane, responsible, thoughtful, non war mongering foreign policy." Does that entail letting Russia have everything it wants? If your answer is negative, then we are in agreement.

In terms of the PNAC and the neocons, we are in complete agreement. Their goals are just plain wrong, and, as Iraq proved, trying to reach those goals can be catastrophic.

Russia has national security interests. They have that right, and it is not only the US that has that right. Now, if this means invading other states, by force, then that is a horse of a different color. Just as our own invasions is a horse of a different color and unacceptable. Yet a sane, responsible person will grant russia the right to security, the right to an economy without sanctions, and the right to have national interests just as western nations like the UK and the US does.

Look, russia is not a rich nation. And given this, to impoverish their people even more, for Syria, for looking our for national security with crimea, is utter irresponsible neocon nonsense. I stand by that, and I am not a lover of russia. I just believe in justice and what is right and what is wrong. And we are so wrong when it comes to demanding things from russia that we will refuse to obey ourselves. I despise hypocrisy, and we are dangerous hypocrites and war mongers. We are ****ing evil my friend. In case you have not noticed. I am speaking of our oligarchy.

Guess what? When I hit the "reply" button, it doesn't copy our entire exchange from the start of our engagement, only your last comment. Since I'm engaging with YOU, I assume YOU remember what you said, and anyone who is reading the thread can also follow along., Seems like the site we post on assumes the same. I didn't "make up a fictitious poll". I saw and recall numerous voter polls on what issues people perceived as important from before and after presidential elections, and those are what I was referring to. But by all means, if you have EVIDENCE that voters based their vote upon Russia's approval or disapproval of candidates, please feel free to post it. Your sad attempts to show causation/correlation on this issue are not succeeding.
