I disagree. It may be easier for someone with good genetics to be a top caliber quarterback but others can achieve that also through hard work.

Ok, direct me to some scientific evidence of a biological link between race and intelligence.

 

the dogma of science is sometimes perplexing. it's an interesting group that sometimes reminds me of actors the way they self agrandize themselves. new discoveries are vilified to maintain the gravy train of the established experts. quite an odd group the for public scientists.

Excellent points; intelligence is complex and varied.

Drop a "brilliant" city slicker in the rainforest and they may well be dead in a day.

Drop a highly successful rainforest dweller in an urban environment, and possibly the same.

IQ in particular is meaningless.

 

I believe the upper limits of each group shows the greatest disparity with the most common in each group not showing any difference at all. this is why as a whole, iq isn't a good indicator of variances between races unless you are comparing only folks with over 135 which some races would have multiple more in that group than others, but it would still be a small minority of the pop as a whole.

 

It was an Asian kid. He was under supervision. That supervision either didn't know or thought it was okay. Supposedly this Asian kid has said or done things prior to this. Who knows if that hearsay is true?

They discuss Columbus and then discuss the opinions of Native Americans. That seem politically incorrect. I guess it depends on who gets their feelings hurt?

Well, I think a student's research is suspect, unless verified.

In my opinion, this experiment and study should never have been permitted. Teenagers are or can be brutal. AP class or not, children are children. The educator(s) in charge should be reprimanded and the students should be spoken to by the school counselor. There should be an assembly with a movie and some discussion on the benefits of being couth. Parents should be made aware of the impact of the educators permitting this study and experiment with a letter from the school board that includes an apology, but no excuses.

 

Intelligence, as in innate intelligence or IQ, is not the same thing as learned knowledge. Some of you are arguing apples and oranges.

Dude, it was UCLA and you can very easily look it up and see that it comes directly from their very own website. You can also look up IQ scores by race. But I like how you blast me for citing UCLA's work. But if they said the white man scores the lowest in XYZ then you'd be blasting it all over this board.

I am 100% convinced that if you took 100,000 average Africans from Africa, put then in middle class environments for 30 years, IQ tests of their kids would be reletively the same as most of the USA.

No where have I said, implied, mentioned or suggested that any particular race is intellectually superior or inferior to another. But the way you're going ape suggests to me that you've already formed an opinion on that and don't like what you're thinking.
