Apparently, I did not do post #92 quite correctly.

You should, however, have been quite able to figure it out.

And your (apparent) quote of two dots (in post #93) has me utterly flummoxed.

For openers, you have assumed--quite erroneously--that I am a "Trump fan." (I am simply not a Trump hater--which, to some people, equates to being a Trump fan. No nuance there.)

In any case, the title of the thread is far less important than the OP (which is to say, post #1). And that is clearly about causation versus correlation--and the ethic of multiculturalism versus the ethic of assimilation.

    LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, you screwed up post 92.

The two dots that confuse you SO MUCH represent your post that, when I hit "Reply", failed to quote anything because of the way you SCREWED UP your posting. And I'm not going to correct it for you so I can comment. Fix it yourself.

Since you obviously have a deep distaste for me--it really goes far beyond a mere difference in viewpoint--I would strongly suggest that you just place me on "Ignore."

Certainly, I intend to do exactly that with you...

The last is quite true. Why? When it comes to Trump, there is no middle ground. You are either for him or against him.

    You didn't know that?

Yeah, you are a Trump fan. You are just embarrassed to admit it. The first sentence of the OP gives you away. You presumed that Trump's racist remarks were not racist remarks.

Farmer, not framer. You have a problem with that? Why not? It was a damn good post, and, as Trump fan, you couldn't question any part of it. Here Try again.

Hey, he's your boy. Don't get pissed at me if I simply report what Trump said. Shouldn't you be pissed at Trump? Just a thought.

A poster recently asked, what exactly is a racist? A white, college educated businessman from a northern state will answer it one way.

A white, college deficient farmer from the South will answer it a different way.

I can't tell you what a racist is, but I know one when I see one.

Speaking of which, President Trump visited a southern state yesterday to spread his racial hatred.

Referring to the four women of color, newly elected Democratic members of the House of Representatives, Trump told a packed arena, “These left-wing ideologues see our nation as a force for evil.” To roaring applause, he railed against what he called “hate-filled extremists who are constantly trying to tear our country down.”

“They don’t love our country,” he said. “I think, in some cases, they hate our country. You know what? If they don’t love it, tell them to leave it.”

After Trump reeled off several controversial comments made by Representative Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, including accusations in which he depicted her as sympathetic to Al Qaeda, his adoring admirers began to chant “Send her back.”

For thirteen long seconds, Trump listened to the chant, a smirking grin on his face, obviously proud he had caused the chorus from the massive crowd of mostly southerners. He did not say another word until the chant finally died down.

Then came the morning after and the inevitable lies began.

Facing an onslaught of indignation and qualms even from his inner circle, Trump claimed to be unhappy his rally crowd broke into chants of "send her back."

"I was not happy with it. I disagree with it," Trump said at the White House a day after the rally, attacking those who attended his rally. Brilliant.

In a blatant lie, Trump told reporters he “started speaking very quickly” in an attempt to silence the rally attendees. He is on video with a shyt-eating grin on face listening to the chant for thirteen seconds until it dies out. How stupid can you be?

In another blatant lie that only his base could possibly believe, Trump casually said, "I didn't say that. They did."

“So interesting to see ‘Progressive’ Democrat Congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe. Why don’t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came."

    How stupid can you be?

    Trump lies so easily now.

Why? Trump can do anything, say anything and Republicans in Congress do nothing to rein him in. Instead, they re-interpret what Trump says then tell the American people he really meant something else. It is as if both Trump and Trump Republicans have challenges with the English language.

He sure as hell can. When your political enemy is destroying himself -- in this case, herself -- don't interfere.

But Trump is too stupid to realize that.

Well, there is a "middle ground" for me.

I refuse to place myself either with the (frothing) Resistance or with the MAGA cultists.

So if you truly believe that I feel closely aligned with either, then you really do not know me.

This is the strategy.....Promote leftist women of color because they will be immune to any critic due to the threat of being labeled racist!
This is the cure...... Admit being racist by liberal definitions and persist the American Dream to be Great Again!

Didn't work for Juan McCain or Smitten Romney. I'll go with the counter puncher! The political enemy is destroying itself and President Trump is exposing the Left Wing Media. Sandy, I hope you are getting plenty of rest.

No one ever called Merle Haggard a racist. "If you don't love it leave it that's my song hear I sing it be a warning". You just, out of necessity, need to make it about race. Nothing else works for the left anymore!

The whole Woman of Color thing is a way for other grifters to try to steal the real legacy of racism and overcoming strength of American Black Women.

Except for Presley, the squad is made up of Grifters and Con Artists.

REMEMBER, TRUMP IS SUPPOSED TO BE THE ANGRY, IRRATIONAL ONE: Video Goes Viral of Rep. Tlaib Losing It at 2016 Trump Event: ‘You Guys Are Crazy!’

“Overnight, this video has gone viral on Twitter. The reason, of course, is that it proves once and for all that Tlaib truly is nothing more or less than a radical left-wing activist, fueled by hatred and anger for those who dare disagree with her. . . . That’s bad enough as it is, considering that she’s a congresswoman, but what makes this even worse is that she truly is the face of the modern Democratic Party: angry, obsessed, bullying and out of control.”
And in need of some restraint.

You raise an interesting point regarding assimilation vs multiculturalism. For decades--perhaps centuries--Americans have been taught that America is a "melting pot" of people from around the world, who have assimilated into one coherent mass of like-minded Americans. Yet, that claim has never been America's reality. From its inception, the predominant early white settlers from Europe, treated Native Americans as worthless & dangerous barbarians--even those tribes who tried assimilating into white culture. Whites also regarded black people as less than human, to the point of enslaving them & removing all thoughts of their having human rights as Americans who contributed their labors in helping build this nation from before its birth. In early America, neither Native Americans or blacks were allowed to "assimilate" into American culture. Multiculturalism developed naturally as a result, & remains so today, beneath the continued resistance against the integration or assimilation of newer classes of darker skinned Americans or wanna-bees. Assimilation has always been the longest lasting, most persistent illusion for America. It never happened & continues to be a false claim. Multiculturalism developed as a natural bi-product of that failure of assimilation. Now, we are stuck with finding ways to make multiculturalism work without the cross-cultural conflicts dividing us as a nation.

E Pluribus Unim. Multiculturalism is a failure. In spite of some past failures, we strive to be a melting pot. "All men are created equal" was the creed in the beginning. The melting pot works. It does overcome racism. It is evident to those that are open to see it. Problem is.....no matter how we succeed, Progressives continue to move the goal posts of racism so they can inform citizens falsely" how bad they have it". It is a strategy of division as outlined in "Rules for Radicals".

Sandy.....you are obsessed with 'isms and 'gysts. In your constant reference to "whites", your racism surfaces. Your highly bigoted remarks about Southerners reveals your "regionism". You besmirch farmers in your occupationalphobeism. In doing so, you present yourself as the Class "A" elitist bigot!" And you always have to throw in the liberal putdowns regarding "education" which in today's environment is actually "indoctrination".

No one would be happier than me, a liberal Democrat, to see this nation become "one" in its respect for one another, & behave as the homogeneous "melting pot" theory claims.

Some of what you say is true: specifically, the part about our not always welcoming others.

But ever since the 1960s, we have worked very hard to ensure that all Americans are treated fairly. Multiculturalism is merely an effort to claim that this can never be the reality; that white Americans (who make up the majority of this country) are simply a racist; and that this cannot be changed.

(By the way, I am one-eighth Creek; and I much prefer the older term, "Indian," to the newer term, "Native American." The only excuse to
eschew the term, "Indian," it seems to me, is to avoid confusing it with residents of the country of India.)

I'm not quite sure why so many believe that multiculturalism is an impenetrable barrier to equality in America. It shouldn't be. Multiculturalism to me, is like having a wide assortment of interesting & delicious specialty restaurants in the same city offering splendid ethnic dishes to anyone walking in. Multiculturalism offers all of us a wide variety of exciting differences that all broaden our personal experiences & world views, rather than wishing for a "melting pot" of sameness & lack of diversity that dissolves into pure cultural boredom. I gather from your post that you feel we must achieve sameness before we will be capable of treating each other with fairness or equality. I respectfully disagree. I see people around me every day who are already demonstrating their ability to treat others who are a different color, different ethnicity, different religion, even different political persuasion, with a genuine affinity & enthusiasm. These individuals regard differences as exciting & enjoyable. I regard myself as one of those people.

That is good. I am glad you said that. Now....what do you want to do about "Identity Politics" that is used to stroke the flames of division?
